  1. There are so many incredible things about this post that it’s hard to pick the funniest part. Phrasing it as if it’s still a question whether we’re coming to the SEC because he’s afraid of the move while simultaneously claiming he wants to play us immediately, misspelling they’re, the lack of grammar. It’s one of the most aggy posts I’ve ever seen and it’s only 7 words. Just beautiful.
  2. Based on this thread, the Surly family reunion is chock full of potatoes.
  3. 51-20 in favor of Texas. Bijan goes for 141 total in the first half and then sits the rest of the game.
  4. people thinking Ash was some kind of a savior are absolutely delusional. He had Ossai, Graham, Chris Brown, Sterns, and a healthy Jacoby Jones. He finished about 13 spots higher than PK in DFEI. And Ash’s scheme relies heavily on the DL to win 1 on 1s. You can easily argue Ash would’ve been just as bad in 2021. The real question is what if Sark could’ve reeled in one of his top picks for DC, like Muschamp or Odom? Probably about 2-3 more wins last year and would better addressed DL/edge in the offseason and we’d be talking about a different program trajectory right now.
  5. I’m not sure I’m emotionally prepared for a triple header. That’s gonna be a lot of terrible strategy decisions for Charles. Hopefully Ferrari has been using the summer break to work on their strategy and come up with new and innovative ways to fuck him over. I’m gonna go out on a limb and predict they will put Charles on wet tyres on a dry track at some point in the next 3 weeks.
  6. Still cracks me up that they fired the guy who brought in 3 first round OL, their Heisman QB and All American WR and they still think it was a good move.
  7. Haha that was amazing. Beard just gets it. I really fucking hope he can win.
  8. Don’t really agree with the first part. We can materially improve as a defense if we get marginally better at all 3 levels. It’s not all on the LBs and the DL being so bad last year contributed to poor LB play. But overall, I agree with you that I’m certainly not expecting a whole lot from the defense. That’s also not the part of your first post I was responding to:
  9. Idk why you focus so much on 3rd down conversion rate and team performance when talking about a single player’s performance. And we’re not looking for big plays from our Mike linebacker, we’re asking for dependable and he was better at that than anyone else on the roster. I’m not saying he was good, just better than our other options and improving.
  10. What was absurd was saying you can’t see how we improve from last year. Just playing Ford over Brock all year would immediately be an improvement. Jabril Cox went from FCS All-American to starter at LSU and was good enough to get drafted in Round 3. Guys can immediately produce, especially a guy who’s on his sixth year in college and has produced at a high level for two straight years. On top of that, DTD had a good amount of P5 offers, so it’s clear other coaches also felt he’d be ready to make an impact right away. Based on that alone, it would be pretty ridiculous to not expect him to be an improvement over one of the worst LBs in all of Division 1.
  11. I mean this is absolutely absurd. You can’t see how DTD is an improvement over Luke Brockermeyer? He’s way, way better than Brock. You seem to be way too hung up on his HS recruiting ranking. And Ford was showing marked improvement at the end of last year and was our best ILB. It’s pretty easy to see how he will continue to improve this year going into year 3 and taking starter reps When combined with DTD, we’ll be much better at ILB than last year. Not good mind you, but much better than last year.
  12. That’s a pretty hilarious way to try to spin things. We averaged giving up over 31 ppg. That was 93rd in the country. Teams were absolutely scoring at will on us. The only reason more teams didn’t get over 35+ on us is because they were controlling the game by running it down our throats. And it had nothing to do with number of plays. We were 93rd in points per play and 100th in yards per play.
  13. Sark and Flood used Billingsley in 12 for the entire second half of the season when he was only a second year player and had the best offense in the country.
  14. Sure but that doesn’t explain why he’s so much lower comparatively for On3 than the other sites, which is what OP was asking.
  15. This has been a string of really dumb takes by you. You’re objectively wrong. Michael Thomas is in the 91st percentile of NFL WRs for athleticism. It’s obvious you’re basing athleticism solely off of 40 times, which is a really dumb way to measure it.
  16. Makes sense. I always tell people I’m Nicolas Cage with acting skills. It shouldn’t require Ethan Burke getting reps at edge to realize we really fucking suck there. We have Ovie, Sorrell, Dorbah and true freshman. We’re probably in the bottom 10-15 of P5 schools at edge right now unless one of the freshman is an absolute phenom.
  17. Well, besides actually winning football games of course.
  18. Shout out to Tex-19 and his ilk who live and die by every 9.95er report and make this thread insufferable for everyone to read. I mean you ate up the bullshit FCB spews and managed to compliment his track record of credibility in the same post the day before the other QB was named starter. Bravo, sir, bravo.
  19. You gotta hand it to him. He just keeps doubling down no matter what. He’s been dead wrong this whole time, but he still insists he was getting good info all offseason. Personally, I might question the credibility of my info at this point, but I guess that’s why I’d be a bad 9.95er. So your take is that the news of QE starting, which all the 9.95ers got completely wrong, doesn’t change the credibility of those same 9.95ers practice reports all offseason? I guess this helps answer the question of why 9.95ers still have subscribers.
  20. The fuck are you talking about? They haven’t seen shit. They’ve watched 10 minutes of warmups of a few practices, the spring game (where Ewers was better) and a single open practice. That’s it.
  21. Stop right there and delete your post next time.
  22. This is a very, very stupid post. We had like 5 defenses in the top 25 of DFEI. Except he basically never makes a play in a game, just gets blown up. Broughton has always been soft. He’s a basketball player in a football player’s body. It was obvious in HS he was massively overrated and soft as fuck. Him being what he is isn’t a surprise to people who were paying attention. He plays high, has a weak lower half, so it’s no surprise he’s soft and can’t anchor. Collina is a disappointment, but it sounds like he just hasn’t put in the work.
  23. I see you’re still fucking this chicken. I’m sure the season will play out to your expectations. I don’t think a single person on this site has ever said that, but it’s not your fault. You’re way too busy cashing this fat checks to actually read Surly.
