  1. Misleading article. The money quote is here (from Tom Osborn - Spurs beat writer):
  2. A handful of these fucks nominated Trump for a Noble Peace Prize ... furrowed indeed.
  3. Starting pitching dominance - MOAR: https://theathletic.com/362876/2018/05/21/numbers-behind-astros-pitching-dominance-justin-verlander-gerritt-cole/ If you're not subscribed to The Athletic, you're missing out on great Astros coverage.
  4. James Harden is the worst. Even casual fans can sense the quit in him. Add in Chris Paul and Mike D'Antoni and you've got a ready made little bitch snack cake fresh off the shit heap.
  5. Evening drive. Co-pilot: Mama standing by Some of the rest having a late snack
  6. Dry as a nun’s baby maker out here at the ranch, but the cows look good. Lots of calves and the ladies are happy. Hope we can hold out through the summer.
  7. Weirdest thing last night at around 2 - huge clap of thunder, poured for a minute or two then drizzled for another 10-15 .... then nothing.
  8. I like sitting under the carport out at the ranch drinking Busch Light after working all day.
  9. /\/\/\/\ Uh, no. I don't like any of the young players on Sacramento to package with the #2 pick.
  10. The minimum framework for the "supermax" is set out pretty well here: https://basketball.realgm.com/article/246593/CBA-Encyclopedia-Designated-Veteran-Contracts The two most stringent parts: eligibility and "the first new season of an agreement must be worth between (or exactly) 30-35% of the salary cap in that season."
  11. C'mon, man. That's up there with the free flowing stupidity on this page.
  12. Agree 100% - these guys generally seem to care for each other and root for individual successes. It's cool to see, from the top to the bottom. I'm not sure whether you can make a tangible distinction between intensity and urgency, but I think that at least a month ago there seemed to be a lack of urgency. I think that's washed away now as the season has kicked in. Probably a natural thing to happen with all the ring ceremonies, reliving an epic WS victory, etc. The core guys in the lineup appear engaged and actively trying to figure out how to adjust or overcome what opposing teams are doing differently this year. And let's be honest - every game the champ has a bulls-eye on its back.
  13. There he is ... PilotsError: master of nuance and subtlety; expert negotiator. If you think the Spurs are going to offer Kawhi $219 million on a guaranteed contract without any conditions or contingencies as to his health or participation - well, you're not smart.
  14. JV is the man - amazing outing last night. 8th and 9th were a little nerve racking ... glad he finished it and didn't let the bullpen have a chance to smear poop everywhere. Another off day - 45 starts and the starting pitching stats updated below: GS -- 45 W/L -- 22-10 IP -- 287.6 SO -- 342 BB -- 81 P/GS -- 98.6 K/9 -- 10.70 WHIP -- 0.95 ERA -- 2.25 BAA -- .188
  15. No worries. I’m a sucker for cool engines and this diesel is still impressing me after almost 2 years. Air dam is still intact - but I put a mild lift and bigger tires on to raise the clearance. It may come off after my warranty expires and I buy a tune to delete the DPF system.
  16. I think you’ll really like the Canyon. I have a Colorado crew with about 30k miles and find it to be a really good mix of capable truck (for off-road driving as well as moderate hauling and towing) and nimble commuter vehicle. Mine has the mini Max diesel - I’ve averaged 28 mpg since I bought it.
  17. Darkened your mood? 😲 I'm happy for Tony and hopeful he can bring some energy.
  18. What are doctor reassurances worth? He's been declared medically fit by what everyone seems to think are extremely qualified and overly conservative doctors - they'll need a psychologist to give assurances he's not going to hold himself out because of some occurrence of pain. And yes, he has tremendous leverage as to trading partners which is why the options with east teams are so limited.
  19. Boston has zero incentive to do anything. That team is going to get better for next year just by getting healthy and staying put. Can they see a path to get on the Warriors' level? Who knows, but I surely think they will be turn their nose up at any trades for either Brown or Tatum. Cross them off. Spurs are in a tight spot if Pop's mandate on not dealing with any Western teams holds true. Plenty of options with teams in the west with young players and picks - not as many in the east. Trading with the 76ers seems to make the most sense if it comes to that - I'm just not sure that some combo of Fultz, Saric, Covington, and picks meets Pop's expectation for equal value in return.
  20. Funny thought ... at one point several months ago I envisioned Pop rolling out Kawhi right before the start of the playoffs with a monologue something like: "Now witness the power of this fully armed and operational battle station. Fire at will, Kawhi!"
  21. Fuck the Rockets. Bigly. The drip, drip, drip of tears is coming. Soon. I predict a big Harden meltdown in either game 3 or 4, after which he will quit. Again.
