  1. We spotted him the "a" and one of the "t's".
  2. How could Park West not have been a home run? After all, NCCD-College Station Properties, LLC got their start by building the bonfire in 1999.
  3. Yormark coming to the B-12 calls to mind former US Senator Ralph Yarbrough's quip when John Connolly became a Republican: "It's the first time in recorded history that a rat has swum toward a sinking ship." The jury's still out on the "rat" characterization, but I'm solid sure about the "sinking ship" part.
  4. I really, truly hope you guys come out OK in all this. But can you rely on past eyeball statistics that include y'all playing us and blOw-U every year? Because that won't be the case going forward and even those Madison Avenue pricks can figure that out . . .
  5. You know the Shaggy/Surly credo: "Pix or it didn't happen."
  6. He's on the Big-12 Commissioner's Honor Roll, so I'd guess it's partly for GPA. But I suspect that the real reason likely lies in the last paragraph. HIGH SCHOOL Earned a 247Sports Composite ranking of three stars and the No. 51 pro-style quarterback … named a three-star prospect by 247Sports ... had his senior season canceled due to COVID-19... a two-year starter who finished his career 5,355 passing yards and 58 touchdowns through the air … threw 13 interceptions on 589 attempts … rushed for 404 career yards and seven touchdowns ... led the Eagles to a 16-3-1 record during his sophomore and junior seasons 2020 ... passed for 2,833 yards and 32 touchdowns and rushed for 213 yard and six touchdowns his junior season ... threw for 2,299 yards and 25 touchdowns with a completion percentage of 64.1 percent (152-of-237) during his sophomore year ... participated in the Elite 11 regional in Los Angeles … played for head coach Jake Ford … also played lacrosse for the Eagles PERSONAL Grandfather, Jim Bob Moffett, played tackle on the Longhorns 1959 SWC championship team under coach Darrell Royal and was inducted into the Texas Athletics Hall of Honor in 1990.
  7. Ohm-my-god, that's watt I currently call it too. Shocking.
  8. Omigod! Bowlsby's going to the NCAA.
  9. Is that ^^^ John Sharp? Looks like him but I've just never seen him laugh--well, not since somebody told him Dewhurst would beat him for light governor in 2002.
  10. Sounds like a buncha' shit to me. We've officially been "The" University of Texas since the adoption of the current Texas Constitution in 1876, wherein Section 10 of Article 7 reads: "Sec. 10. ESTABLISHMENT OF UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS; AGRICULTURAL AND MECHANICAL DEPARTMENT. The Legislature shall as soon as practicable establish, organize and provide for the maintenance, support and direction of a University of the first class, to be located by a vote of the people of this State, and styled, "The University of Texas", for the promotion of literature, and the arts and sciences, including an Agricultural, and Mechanical department." (bolding added; quotation marks are a part of the Constitution) And in case anyone was wondering, the constitutional mandate that The University of Texas be a "university of the first class" is what differentiates us from the fuckin' aggys. And the fuckin' sooners. And the fuckin' bucknuts. And the fuckin' . . .
  11. This guy would be decent. He handles pitchers pretty good.
  12. Even in the face of trying to navigate through the losers bracket with no reliable arms . . .
  13. This excerpt from a book I read recently pretty well sums it up: “You really want to help your guy?” Rogers said. “Of course. That’s why I’m here,” Abel replied. “You need a madam,” Rogers said. “A what?” Abel said. “Rogers, you’re a cop.” “That’s why I know what I’m talking about. You need to use a madam,” Rogers repeated, “or a top-shelf escort service. Somethin’ like that.” Abel just stared at Rogers, unbelieving. “Look, Aronson,” Rogers said, “all the big rock stars, athletes, they use ’em. Those guys, they come into a strange town, they don’t know nobody, they want some, uh, companionship. Their managers, whoever, knows somebody who knows somebody and with one phone call a top-shelf pro appears at the hotel door. She ain’t cheap but she’s worth every penny—and then some. Why? Not just because she’s the best, but because she can keep her mouth shut. She don’t steal the guy’s Rolex when he gets up to pee, she don’t try to shake him down, like that broad did with your guy. And, most important, she don’t get intentionally knocked up. If your guy don’t have somebody steady, wife or no wife, keep him out of the clubs. Call a pro. Best money he’ll ever spend, on several different levels.”
  14. So you're saying that the shitty music in the locker room begets the shitty play on the field? Were it so simple . . .
  15. Caitlyn Jenner, proud, supportive aggy, holds press conference denouncing Nick Saban.
  16. Hang in there. It's a good thing you're doing. Still, this old Dean Martin quote comes to mind: "I'd hate to be a teetotaler. Imagine getting up in the morning and knowing that's as good as you're going to feel all day." --Dean Martin
  17. My clock only has one six on it and that comes in the afternoon . . .
