  1. This one is confusing for me. I haven’t spoken to my dad in over a decade, by my choice. It was the right decision, and he brought it on himself, but life can be like blackjack; you can play it perfectly and still lose. I’m better without him, but every boy/man wants a father and it leaves a hole in you. One of my three boys has been making bad decisions for the past 18-mos. Been through Menninger, in-patient, IOP, APG, wilderness, and a therapeutic boarding school. I have lived in a constant state of fear for his safety. He directs much of his anger toward me, tells me what a POS I am, that I’m the world’s worst father, and how he wants the whole world to know. Says it all in front of his friends, my friends, his brothers, etc. He definitely knows how to twist the knife. Recently, I had to put a stop to it and cut him off. Hardest decision of my life. Fathers are supposed to protect their children, but I’m helpless and can only hope he is saved from himself long enough to find his path. This is my first Father’s Day after, and it feels empty even though my other two boys are with me. I didn’t plan on writing all of this. It just came out. This particular group of assholes really knows how to shift gears and circle the wagons. Thanks for reading, and Hook ‘em. Let’s get those piggies today.
  2. My 19-yr old has been epileptic since birth. Someone upstream said something about the fear of helplessly watching your child seize. A parent’s fear truly is the most perfect fear. It cannot be improved upon. We have been with UT Neuro in TMC the whole time, and then they’ve been great. He has run the gamut from Phenolbarbitol to Depakote to Lamictyl over the years. He’s currently 2500mg OID of Keppra and his seizures are controlled (sounds like the dosages you are taking may still be suboptimal - it takes them a while to ramp up to optimal dosing). He is actually at Camp For All right now as a counselor during the epilepsy week. Epilepsy has had profound effects on his executive processing speed and short term memory, so your symptoms aren’t surprising. I can echo in the strongest way possible that a lack of sleep (both quality and quantity) or disruption of your Circadian Rhythm are the quickest route to breakthrough seizures. Take the best care of yourself as you can. Have your doctors checked for lesions just to make sure you don’t have an underlying condition like MS, etc? T&P’s to you as you’re going through this amigo. Just want you to know that you aren’t alone and people are thinking about you.
  3. You know all their commits are looking at each other asking, “Did you talk to him? I didn’t talk to him.” I’m sure a commit said if they get a certain recruit that “it’s a wrap”. He thinks people actually believe this stuff. I’m sure all the aggy lemmings lap it up though.

  5. Perhaps go sit, wait, and wish the next round champ?
  6. texaggy thread about the Leal visit has been deleted. Strange little people.
  7. This is what happens when you fuck a stranger in the...wait, this is what happens when you let a stranger fuck you in the...wait, this is what happens when you let a stranger fuck your wife in the ass.
  8. Waiters and waitresses that include themselves in the process. What can I get us to drink? Do we need more time to look at the menu? Have we decided yet? There is no "we" bitch. There is us, the paying patrons, and there is you. Also with the specials description. We're going to take a 7-9 ounce filet of snapper, then we're going to season it with expired, canned buttholes. The chef is doing all of this. There is no fucking "we". I have no idea why, but this makes me ragey.
  9. Fuck me if I'm wrong, but don't I know you?
  10. Does that really say Future on it? Have they any original thoughts that they didn’t pilfer from us? It’s a rhetorical question.
  11. Way better than the Higdon lottery number codes.
  12. Guilty as charged. I like to go on Google Earth, set the zoom to the entire earth, and see if I can use the mouse scroll wheel to zoom in to major sites around the world in a single continuous motion. Like the pyramids, Eiffel Tower, Christ the Redeemer, etc. Good wholesome fun.
  13. Sentimentally, my favorite was Metallica in 1983 as a 13-yr old for Kill ‘Em All. Nobody knew who they were, but a friend brought the record to my house and nothing was the same after that. Found out they were coming to a dive bar on Westheimer and Fountainview in Houston. Somehow we got my mom to drive us and drop us off about a block away. We were walking up the sidewalk and saw a ratty POS bus in the alley behind the bar. We walked up and these guys got off the bus, each with a bottle of vodka in their hand. We sat there, completely star struck over a band that nobody knew. They asked what we were doing there. We said we were there to see Metallica. They said, “Hey, we’re Metallica!” We said, “Uh-huh. We know.” They asked how we planned on getting into the show. We admitted we hadn’t thought that far ahead and were going to try and sneak in. They told us to sneak in with them. We walked into the back door of the bar with the band. Room to the right was a warmup room. To the left was a couple of steps up onto the stage. Straight ahead was a curtain into the main bar. We went into the bar. Saw the concert. They shredded. There could not have been fifty people in that bar. So I was snuck into my first Metallica concert by Metallica. Fucking epic IMHO. Other than that, Metallica opening for Ozzy during his spandex phase when they blew him off the stage, any of a number of Maiden concerts, STP last tour before Scott died (he actually showed up and rocked), unexpected impromptu SRV solo session at Shakespeare’s, Black Crowes at HOB, 92 Lollapalooza, Sturgill Simpson at White Oak, and any Arc Angels concert I ever went to. Probably so many more I’m forgetting. Those stick out.
  14. Funny how the “crazy” shag person is completely lucid and witty IRL. I wonder how the counterpart from aggy would come off. We need to start the surly recruiting service.
  15. Bands In Town app is where I normally get my upcoming show info.
  16. Def Leppard / Journey in Houston Seether at Houston HOB in July
  17. I’m not an over the top fan but I’ve enjoyed their commitment to the troops. I think some of their lyrics get a bit clumsy, but I like the driving sound and his voice. I actually don’t mind Bad Company, but changing the words to House of the Rising Sun was not necessary.
  18. Just saw Cody Jinks in Beaumont since that’s the closest he’s come to Houston in two years. Awesome. Also, Five Finger Death Punch hasn’t come near, so I got tix and I’m flying up to Tulsa to see them with Shinedown. A week later, concerts announced in Houston. FFDP with Breaking Benjamin and Godsmack with Shinedown. Shit.
  19. Today is the first day of the rest of my life.
