  1. CJ Vogel Updates from Summer Conditioning *** – The team is working out four days a week with Wednesdays proving to be a lighter day off of the field from the traditional conditioning days. Majority of days are held inside of DKR for the team to work conditioning with Torre Becton and his staff. There remain days over at Denius practice fields for sand work in the sand and some light hill work. – Leadership remains strong from the Texas quarterback, Arch Manning. You will hear the cliche of Arch adopting the 2025 roster as his team but that is accurate in terms of the leadership approach being taken. – Running back CJ Baxter is working out, but remains a little ways away from 100%. For Baxter, it is all about going from step to step in his recovery from a blown out knee. From what I gather, there is still a ways to go for Baxter in terms of returning to full trust with cuts and full start-and-go, as expected, but the steps made to getting on the field have been significant. James Simon continues to be a name mentioned from the freshman ranks. – There is plenty of reason to be optimistic about the tight end room as well. I have heard the addition of Jack Endries has been smooth, plus Jordan Washington remains a guy who has found every opportunity to put in extra work. – A few guys on the offensive line standing out from a leadership perspective – Trevor Goosby and Cole Hutson. Another nugget on the offensive line is freshman Nick Brooks has done a fine job of refining his body since arriving in Austin. He is on a similar path physically as Cam Williams when he arrived around 360 pounds. Brooks is in the mid 340s now. – On the defensive side of the ball, I mentioned Jonah Williams earlier in the week as someone referred to as a "freak" by someone I spoke with. That probably isn't a surprise. For Jonah, the key is to add as much of that armor as you can in the time building up to the kickoff in Columbus. The transition from a baseball body to a football body is the priority. – I remain bullish on Wardell Mack and his contributions this season. – The regular voices are heard on the defensive side of the ball – Michael Taaffe, Anthony Hill Jr, and Colin Simmons. I can also add Trey Moore is move vocal in year two as a Longhorn as well. – Safety Derek Williams Jr. is back working fully with the team in offseason workouts. This is just seven months following his torn ACL that occurred against Oklahoma.
  2. What are the situations where a force out can be obstructed? Only scenario I could think of is at 1st base?
  3. Flying Southwest on July 1st and we were grandfathered free checked bags due to when we booked. Should we be nervous now?
  4. Gerry Hamilton Thursday AM recruiting notes Thursday morning recruiting notes with things moving by the hour, if not minutes. Dre Quinn, EDGE (Buford, Ga./High) - Clemson is telling Quinn and circle that they see him as an impact player in year one. Texas told Quinn and circle they see him developing for a year, then becoming an impact player. That has made Clemson much more attractive to the circle. He will announce his decision today. Vodney Cleveland, DL (Birmingham, Ala./Parker) - Texas remains the favorite as of Wednesday over Florida, North Carolina and Georgia with a Saturday decision closing in. 5-star Trenton Henderson, EDGE (Pensacola, Fla./Catholic) - Make no mistake, Texas has Henderson as high on the board as any in the 2026 cycle. 5-stars Tyler Atkinson, LB (Loganville, Ga./Grayson) and Xavier Griffin, LB (Gainesville, Ga./High) - OTF would be pretty surprised if they attend the same college. Atkinson visiting Texas helps Bama's fight against the Horns for Griffin. Luke Wafle, EDGE (Princeton, N.J./The Hun School) - Texas has stayed in the fight, but as we reported yesterday we weren't believing making the OV was a lock. USC made a big run last weekend, but that quieted down. Ohio State is trying their best to shut this down prior to the Texas OV. One person in the family still wants him to visit Texas. James Johnson, DL (Miami/Northwestern via North Fort Myers) - While many expect Miami here, one source told OTF Wednesday that Georgia and Texas are the top two headed into the Longhorns OV. Kaydon Finley, WR (Aledo, Texas/High) - OTF believes Texas remains in a good spot over Notre dame headed into the OV this weekend. Kendall Guervil, DL (Fort Myers, Fla./High) - OTF believes Texas remains in the best position headed into the OV this weekend. Ezavier Crowell, RB (Jackson, Ala./High) - Those in Austin believe Texas is truly in the fight with Alabama ahead of the Bama OV and June 26 decision. Auburn and Georgia haven't backed off. Damari Simeon, DL (Richland, N.J./St. Augustine) - Texas is doing well in this recruitment headed into Ohio State OV. Michigan still battling. Penn State would be a bit of surprise. Samari Matthews, CB (Cornelius, N.C./Hough) - Texas remains confident ahead of South Carolina OV this weekend. Miami swinging. August decision remains scheduled. Malakai Lee, OT (Honolulu, Hi./Kamehameha) - Confidence in this one remains in Austin ahead of Michigan OV this weekend. Georgia picked up a fourth OL commit Wednesday, a left tackle prospect. Lee announces his decision June 27.
  5. IDK if I'm minority or majority but Ted is definitely worse than Tucker.
  6. OTF saying don’t expect Cunningham on campus because draft
  7. We won't win a title next year in womens...even if they perform well the men are fucking struggling and look like shit period.
  8. The trainer he's been training with in Texas for the past month has been Derrick Johnson
  9. @immamac Burnt Ends material
  10. One is for men's and one is for women's
  11. That's far better than watching an Angel Reese type game where she's clanking the fuck out of layups and a black hole of offense. The amount of talent coming out that is coming out and up the pipeline now is closer to Clark than the old WNBA big bitches clanking 5 ft shots.
  12. Miami is just a shitty city in general. Most overrated city in the US.
  13. Thinking the league needs to be shitty and physical like it's always been is definitely a choice. The league needs more play like Caitlin and Paige bring which is an exciting fast pace style of game play that is closer to the mens rather than junior high boys basketball.
  14. Tyler Atkinson will now take an OV this weekend.
  15. Bobby Burton If you don’t have the stomach for it, you shouldn’t follow recruiting. Texas lost one of its top running back targets yesterday to Texas A&M in Carthage’s KJ Edwards. Edward’s was long considered a Texas lean until other factors came into play. The Aggies are pushing the limits on NIL this year in recruiting with apparent little regard to the House Settlement. Have they found a loophole or work-around? Or are they confident the rules of engagement will change yet again by the time December’s signing period rolls around (not a bad bet IMO)? Whatever the case may be, it’s clear A&M is upping the ante. How Texas responds will tell the tale. Yet, it’s in times like these that I remember something Mack Brown told me 25 years ago. I’ll paraphrase here: “Focus on the ones you bring into the program. Not the ones you lost. At most, you’ll see the player you lost no more than four days in four years. But the ones you sign, you’ll see them every day. Focus on building those guys up.” Of course, Brown was no poor recruiter. And the better the talent on the way in to a program, the better chance a coach will have to “build” a special player and team. In sum, Texas fans should certainly register the losses - losses can tell us something - but the real focus should be on who Texas is adding to the class. Are those recruits, the ones who commit, good enough to win a national championship? If so, that’s what really matters, not the immediate feelings of loss or being jilted. In other words, you’re always going to lose some in recruiting. But it’s who you sign that matters most. ** For those looking for the “sky is falling” recruiting prophecy here, sorry you won’t get it. This has seemingly happened every summer of Sark’s tenure in Austin. And so far, Sark and his staff have navigated the rocky waters just fine.
  16. South beach fucking sucks. The rest of Miami is worse
