  1. this…checks a lot of my boxes.
  2. what he said.

  4. gonna drop this here…
  5. i want to like this. i love glen powell back to the scream queens days and have been impressed with his acting chops in stuff like hit man. all this aside from liking him because of his longhorn obsession. i just don't get it i guess. i can forgive some of the football silliness, kinda like i did in fnl. like last night, when they were on their final drive and the clock was running because reasons? friday night lights it was always running like a basketball game and always had to end on a last second touchdown as time expired. again, it's silly but so easily avoidable. if only some football people were associated with this. also it was 13-3 which sets up the obvious td + fg to tie, but clearly they wanted a last second td, so why not just make it 14-3? jamie lee wrote last night's episode, and she's done good work on ted lasso and other stuff, so who knows. overall, the one thing i can't get past is the voice. yes, it's annoying, but really i just can't understand why he's doing it. take a star qb from a big name program from 4-6 years ago that didn't make it to the nfl. does anybody remember what he sounded like? he's the same height, weight, measurables, throwing motion as he was back then, and having a slightly fatter face and longer hair could easily happen naturally. so he's changing his voice to complete the transformation and the voice is hard to listen to. whenever they have pranks (eli manning, greg maddux, kris bryant, etc) where pros costume up and play with amateurs, they're always super cocky and talk shit to the college kids or minor leaguers. that's why it's funny. i feel like they should've gone that way with this instead of him being a meek backwoods hillbilly who's afraid of water. looks like 6 episodes and it'll probably be done. i can't imagine a big movie star doing multiple seasons even if it gets better. and yes, i'll prob continue to watch because there just aren't any comedies on anymore. just wish it was funnier. also i can never get enough steve zahn in my life.
  6. has his elvis accent faded yet, because it was taking some time.
  7. if task were to continue to future season(s) it would more likely be the same ruffalo-led task force being assigned to a different group of crooks, a la line of duty, unforgotten, and so forth. it's a weird question for him to have to answer, since his story will conclude in s1, but i'm sure he has instructions.
  8. in the year of our lord, 2025. they should've made it a photo booth pic from where maeve works or something halfway believable.
  9. i think it's entirely possible. i think robbie still has unsettled business with the dark hearts and it doesn't much matter if he's alive or dead to see them suffer.
  10. they didn't show the robbie and freddy meeting (besides them sitting down). that was intentional. all we heard is that freddy demanded "double" what the original deal was supposed to be. also you don't need to spoil your responses on a non-netflix show/episode that's already aired. if you come in this thread after an episode has aired, you deserve what you get.
  11. i was hoping that robbie's plan was to have a bunch of feds and a bunch of dark hearts meet up at the cabin at the same time, while he hid safely someplace. not so much.
  12. guess we didn’t miss the phone switch because there was no phone switch. dj grassanova had it the whole time. how fortuitous.
  13. we’re squawking about specific healthcare policy and trying to counteract republican lies/talking points. keep it broad and consistent. call them what they are - liars. tell america we’re tired of the trolling and the gaslighting. trump is holding the country hostage and we don’t negotiate with terrorists. give a dictator an inch, blah blah just pick your metaphor.
  14. this isn’t that hard. have someone on the left send out the only messaging any dem should use across all platforms or in person. something like, “a year ago, americans voted in a bunch of dishonest and incompetent republicans who now control the house, the senate, and the presidency. you are seeing that dishonesty and incompetence in action. elections have consequences and we’re tired of being the fucking janitors every time the republicans make a mess. we will continue to use our limited power to keep you healthy and safe. that’s what we’re fighting for.” if the gop wants to let this country burn for a year, they’ll find out next nov.
  15. i didn't have any negronis but wtf happened during the drug setup/sting? the flyers phone switch escaped me but i guess makes sense now, but seems like it would get noticed (like someone mentioned). so they just changed the location of everything to something far away from the zillion cops waiting? also wasn't lizzie the one who said "he's a drug dealer just out of prison, you really think cliff trusted him?" that sounds like something the mole would say (even though they're definitely telegraphing it's plimpton). lastly, how has nobody in the dark hearts not put it together to look in robbie's general direction after, you know, they killed his brother? even after they sorted out that cliff was a garbage man, they never even brought it up. lastly part 2 - did the cops really think they would bring the kid to a drug deal? really?
  16. not to derail a small detail of this thread, because i agree wholeheartedly and look forward to hearing an earful from hank next time we talk, but i think "god bless america" started during the 7th inning stretch after 9/11 (typically played before "take me out to the ball game"). i have no idea how many teams did it, still do it, stopped doing it, whatever. i don't go to many mlb games anymore.
  17. cue the "worst simpsons movie so far..." memes.
  18. he seems fine to me.
  19. if she's blocking out the word "short", that's great accidental comedy.
  20. if someone asked him "what did you hate about what kimmel said about the charlie kirk assassination?" he would have no fucking idea what to say. there wasn't one 'controversial' thing said that got him in hot water, and none of the late night comics were making light of it.
  21. if it ends with trump in the hague, let’s do whatever we need to do.
  22. i would rather he suspend in 2026 than have "free and fair" elections only to find out that somehow the gop took 300+ seats.
