Yeah from the ABC reporting I can find, no ICE agents or personnel were injured. One detainee killed and two injured. https://abcnews.go.com/US/multiple-people-shot-dallas-ice-field-office-source/story?id=125887376 Stay classy, City of Hate. -
hida ya dogs, hide ya wives, ATF is gonna come knockin' But seriously, that meets the legal definition of a suppressor under the NFA, even if it would only last for a shot or two - it would still suppress for a shot or two. You probably don't want to be posting pics of that unless you've got your forms and paperwork in order Cool print and model though! Impressive work to put together on TinkerCad, I've always preferred the AutoDesk Fusion tools since that's what I learned back in college. I need to learn some more modeling tools that are faster to use, Fusion360 can be a bit overkill at times

strangely, only detainees were shot (seriously) -
You should update your iOS version just for baseline security patches. Especially if you have any banking or money-related apps on your phone

Weird stance when their data is pretty cherry picked and equivocates two dudes brawling with a madman shooting up a Walmart because brown people are gonna take his spot

The destruction of America's public education system
Captainant replied to Captainant's topic in Cloak Room
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/sep/23/professors-us-south-leaving Many professors in the US south, particularly in Florida, South Carolina and Texas, are considering leaving their state because of the impact the political climate is having on education, according to a new survey by the American Association of Professors. Of those interviewed in the survey, roughly a quarter of respondents said they applied for a job in higher education in another state since the start of 2023. Heather Houser worked as a professor in the English department, teaching American literature and environmental humanities, at the University of Texas at Austin for 14 years. Like the growing number of professors in the stronghold Republican state, she found the increasing government oversight on higher education alarming. Houser left Texas earlier this year for a new teaching position at The University of Antwerp in Belgium. “I know a lot of people who’ve been on the job market for several years and they’d be gone by now if not for the factors that make it hard to leave,” Houser said. “It comes with sacrifices, and I still feel so much for my students and colleagues back in Texas. It’s hard to know what they’re enduring.” The survey received responses from approximately 4,000 faculty members across the south and included other states, such as Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky, in its findings. About 25% of the professors in Texas who responded said they have applied for teaching roles in other states in the last two years, with another 25% saying they intend to start a search. Last year, salary was the top reason as to why educators across the south were seeking employment elsewhere. In this year’s findings, however, “broad political climate” was the top motivator. “I had been looking to leave UT Austin and Texas for many years,” Houser said, “part was just a desire for personal change, but much bigger was my concern about higher education and the direction it was going. I was worried that the ability to teach things I cared about like environmental or social justice would become increasingly hard or even discouraged.” The Republican governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, signed a bill in 2023 that banned diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) offices and initiatives in higher education institutions across the state. -
It's interesting that they haven't shared any ballistics of other evidence to bolster their public weeping and gnashing of teeth and sharpening of knives. You'd think they'd love to share that they've determined it WAS the rifle and it WAS the person they think it was. Makes me wonder if the actual evidence is counter to their narrative that they've been shoving down everyone's throat

at least then we could all address that we've ACTUALLY got an antichrist on our hands

Yeah about that... https://www.nbcnews.com/world/united-kingdom/email-calling-epstein-supreme-friend-adds-new-fuel-royal-scandal-rcna232705 Just days after Trump, the royals and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer largely skirted questions about Jeffrey Epstein that had threatened to complicate the sunny spectacle of his trip, the British press offered new revelations. A newly surfaced email revealed that Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, described Epstein, the disgraced financier, as a “supreme friend” despite his conviction for sex offenses. The email was published in two newspapers Sunday. It was sent by the duchess — the former wife of Prince Andrew, the Duke of York — in 2011, just weeks after she had publicly distanced herself from Epstein.

You are aware of Twitter being basically just porn and bots at this point right? Create a fresh account and scroll for a bit - it's every inch of what you're describing on BlueSky. This isn't a #bothsides, but rather making sure that you're actually calibrated to reality You're describing the grift of FB "engagement" numbers. Facebook and Threads and Insta and Twitter all juice their "engagement" numbers by counting anyone who even scrolled past an ad or post for a split second. Autoplaying video? Blammo - more viewcounts! It's all been bullshit for years, and it's not been a secret. But you know, line MUST go up. So everyone happily ignores that inconvenient reality

Because Milei is a trump ally and pushes the same ideology. Trump can hawk more cryptos with Milei in power

I have an older Cuisinart air fryer/toaster oven that's great. I've made whole Thanksgiving sides in it, and even made actual fried chicken on the bone with it. Had it since 2018 and we use the HELL out of it https://www.cuisinart.com/air-fryer-toaster-oven-with-grill/TOA-70NAS.html Gotta get the one with actual physical knobs/dials - the digital screen ones have terrible controls

So I really REALLY want people to realize that the CK """memorial""" yesterday was nothing more than a political rally. The President of the United States saying that he HATES Americans who don't like him. His top advisor was straight out of the mid-1930's germany with his rhetoric. Classic shit with "our enemies are DANGEROUS! But they're also NOTHING and CAN DO NOTHING!" gh0ba3pg9qqf1DASH_360.mp4 They weren't there for peace and reconciliation. They were there to assign enemies and coordinate their "army" against whoever he says "they" are

Not sure the best thread for this video, but this resonates with other discussions about how young men fall down the alt-right pipeline Really interesting stuff about using the aestetics of critical thinking to avoid actually thinking critically, and using that as a rhetorical weapon against "woke"/SJW's/etc

or one step further - they'll use trump cutting the knees out from under the USD to justify ever more investments into crypto and scamcoins

Dancing upon your opponents good faith is a central tenet of his """debate""" style. He never substantively addressed his oppositions points, and relied HEAVILY on logical fallacies to form his position. He was a troll, who delighted in knowing that he could lie while his opponent stuck to good faith and facts. To quote Sarte: They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past. Kirk was murdered while whatabouting gun violence to deflect onto "gang violence" (read: nonwhite violence). He literally died while arguing in bad faith. I understand your sentiment of wanting better and more open dialogue, but pinning your hopes on CK for that is like hoping Joe Camel would lead a healthcare revolution

I mean, the only time Trump has won the presidency was when he ran against a woman.

my bigger pet peeve is when folks aren't paying attention and form rolling roadblocks going 5-10MPH under the limit on the highway. It's ALWAYS some idiot on their phone not paying attention and just hugging the blind spot of the person in front of them, and when you try to pass them they speed up to block you. Once you finally get past them, they slow back down and go back into passive following mode, it's infuriating. I feel like there would be less rage driving and speed demons if traffic would just fucking FLOW, but people are dead set on driving in formation it feel like -
Elon Musk: Nazi traitor piece of shit [Confirmed]

There's a hideous degree of mark-to-market accounting going on in the tech space too right now. For just one example, Oracle building their HUGE fuck-off datacenter in Abiline has led to massive stock value growth, but they don't have nearly enough capital to actually build the thing on time and start getting the revenue out of it that they've already marked down as "definitely going to happen". It's the same shell game of hypecycle pump and dump that led to the dotcom and housing bubbles. -

I do think the growth of the farcical "rugged individualism" mindset has also led to a massive rot and decay in civics in general. There's a whooooole bunch of "fuck you I got mine" in baiscally every aspect of life now, and it's exceedingly rare to see someone doing the right thing just because it's the right thing. Everything boils down to a P/L statement - even fucking schools are holding poor children to account for not being able to pay for food at a place the government makes them be. Because if he do anything with social benefit, it's SOCIALISM(!!!!) and we're gonna train people to be helpless, or some bullshit like that
