If somebody sends you a bill, it ain't free.

If you don't have to pay the bill and can't be compelled to pay the bill, sounds pretty free to me my dude. The money has to come from somewhere, and it's not from the people who don't have money.

Who gets free medical care in this country?

Ironically, the people without insurance who default on their medical bills. And then we all end up paying for it anyways. And insurance companies arbitrarily increase the price of service so they can skim off the top. Sure am glad we killed the single payer option during compromise efforts in which hundreds of republican amendments to the ACA were voted on over the course of weeks while it was getting "jammed through".

Voted for Cruz.  Good luck Senator.  Don’t need someone from Texas voting with Schumer lock step.

Hell with Cruz you barely get someone from Texas voting. I'm truly sorry that you think that an absentee canadian-born carpetbagger represents Texas.

Look, White Castle is like a slump-buster.  Sometimes it's just necessary.  I can't tell you how many times a mega-hangover was avoided by rolling into a White Castle ~ 2 AM and ordering a half dozen sliders.  Those things serve a purpose.

You're saying that like the motherfucking honeybutter chicken biscuit doesn't exist

That is painful to watch but I gotta feeling Beto’s move would look like that too.

I'd like to think he'd at least be dribbling at the waist instead of the shoulder level lol

To put a finer point on it, look into data and projections on earnings growth.  25% last quarter, 20% this quarter, down into the teens and maybe below 10% next year.

The tax cut didn't work as well as planned.  That's the end of the story . . . rich individuals get richer, corporations didn't benefit nor reinvest (other than stock buybacks), and in the end we have Donald and his merry band of ass-kissers fucking things up more than necessary, because "they got theirs".

And Tahoe ain't one of "they".

Critically, we have no more money we can pump into the economy in the likely (and statistically inevitable) event of an economic downturn before 2020. We already expended our available economic stimulus with the trump tax cut. Go figure that a con man has been using every short-term "win" lever as quickly as they can with no regard to its sustainability.

-we've got massive progress in the third branch of government,

Which are exacerbated by useful idiots such as yourself, bringing doughnuts to local meetings and doing your part to make everything appear normal, in the face of an executive branch that has no checks on it. And your entire team party is reliant on him to maintain power, so it's not too hard to see how that could lead to issues when it comes to enforcement action against him.

    - the economy is booming, and

The economy is currently in a bit of a rut, and the growth it's been seeing is primarily from artificially low interest rates and the trump tax cuts which are effectively more of a stimulus bill than a tax cut. Only problem is, a stimulus was applied when the economy was already doing fine, so now we have no safety net if/when there's another major downturn. Just because it's good right now, doesn't mean it's going to magically continue to be good. Trump is sort of known for going bankrupt.

    - the regulatory bureaucracy is getting fixed.

There was actually a really great planet money podcast on this issue last Friday. The TLDR is that trump has definitely made the political environment hostile to new regulations, but he's going to have a hard damn time cutting out 90% of the regulatory code like he wants to. The majority of ground covered was through using the Congressional Review Act to work with congress to revoke obama-era regs. You only have 60 legislative days to review and revoke, which is why there was a flurry of deregulatory stuff at the beginning of his term, and not much since then.

Am I the only one who has concerns about the completely electronic aspect of early voting?  No physical record of the vote, no paper ballot, etc.

You are right to be concerned about how vulnerable our election infrastructure is. Hell, at defcon last year literal children were hacking the machines. Many of them store data on a fucking unencrypted SD card behind a shitty wafer lock. I can link you some defcon talks if you'd like to really be scared lol

There are good solutions to the problem.  But there isn't a good solution that can get 60 votes in the Senate

Im guessing you like your solutions more "final" than most?

Tldr: pre existing condition coverage is the same as letting people bet on a football game with 5 seconds remaining on the clock but giving them the pre game odds.

It's almost like commodifying our healthcare is a fundamentally flawed idea since everyone is incentivized to be individually selfish from insurers to care providers to patients. Making that into a market where the people with shareholders and a financial interest have all the power is just asking for an abuse of that position at the cost of sick people who only want to be healthy.

Yeah, what rock have you been living under? I'm not sure if you know how liberal millennials work but they don't even look at the president's policy and what its done for the country.  It's all emotive for them.

Im being 100% serious. Please lay out what trump has done for the country since being elected and back your claims with evidence and sources.

She laughed at her when she heard her use that voice, so did her best girl friend, a speech pathologist who said it's a trick often used to make you sound young and innocent.

    Oh and fuck you too.

No idea why a woman recounting a sexual assault that she's still going to therapy for would have a wavering voice and have difficulty publicly talking about those events. Definitely just a partisan actor trying to take down the VERY GOOD MAN bart o'kavanaugh. Listen to yourself man. You're arguing that her pain and suffering aren't real and she's just putting on an act. For fuck's sake, that's fucked up. That sort of thinking is just looking for the outcome that you want, not what reality is indicating.
