  1. I predicted 4-3 this week. 7 of the last 8 weeks on the pod I’ve nailed the record. The only one I didn’t I said 5-1 the week before the All Star break and we went 1-5. Whoops.
  2. No way we can lose on Gusto day. Bet the house on the astros.
  3. It's elbow, not forearm. Walter is fine! (narrator's voice- he was not indeed fine).
  4. Yes and no. That's not really right. He really only has 3 years and 100M left. The last 4 are all vesting options. They go 25, 20, 15, 10. They require over 500 plate appearances. So, if he sort of sucks in 2028 (the last year that's guaranteed) you just sit him 20 or 30 times or have him hit 8th or let nature take it's course, it doesn't vest and you don't owe him any of that....
  5. I mean, Gordon seems to be the anti Walter and has a rabbit foot up his ass. Gusto has been fine. I will be glad when both of them are replaced by Arrrighetti and Javier. September 1 we should be looking at: SP- Framber, Brown, Walter, Arrighetti, Javier, Garcia Pen- Hader, Abreu, Sousa, Okert, King, Gusto, Gordon, France? (you get 14 as of 9/1). LMJ is on the IL for the year- those blisters man, they can be tricky. He gets a normal off season to go into 2026 where he's pitching for his life. Lineup: Diaz, Walker, Matthews, Pena, Dubon, Altuve, Melton, Smith, Alvarez. Bench: Caratini, Trammel, Singleton, Short, Guillerme. Paredes is pretty clearly likely out for the year. My suspicion would be the same for Meyers. Need 1 high impact bat that can play 3B. My goodness, is that Carlos Correa's music I hear? Allegedly Twins would love to move him, he has a NTC, Houston is about the only team he'd waive it for. Crane likes the idea. Get er done, Jimbo!
  6. Yessir. and Jin texted me about 5 minutes after the article was posted about Gerald young. Damn it.
  7. Indeed. as to the tweet we are now AAAA astros 1 game back of being best team in AL ☹️
  8. Melton hit a 102 mph line drive out in his 3rd AB. He seems ready. I’m guessing off day tomorrow, plays CF 2 day, DH’s the other day and is in houston on Monday. Chas traded for a lotto ticket sometime before melton comes back or Hummel is DFA’d. javier 2 2/3. 50 pitches. 1 run. 2 hard hit balls. Only 2 swing and misses. Walked last 2 guys he faced.
  9. In el paso so far: melton 2-2 with a single and a double. 107 mph and 111 exit velo. Javier with 2 ip and 1 run, 2 hits. He’s thrown a lot of strikes but only 2 swing and misses. He’s 93/94 on his fastball.
  10. I mean, Espada hasn’t fucked this game up yet.
  11. Incredibly unlucky outing for Alexander. 5 dink hits out of 8- short not catching the stolen base that the ball beat him to score the first run. Fucked uo double okay to let in last 2 runs. he’s also gotten a fair bit of swing and miss.
  12. That’s why I said pirates would say no. But, i also would say no. I’m incredibly high on Arrighetti and Ullola. I think it’s likely that between Matthews and melton 1 guy will be an all star type and the other would be a major league regular. if you are the pirates and you knew you were getting a 2, a guy that was either TOR or back end of bullpen and a 4 or 5 WAR player and a 2 or 3 war player up the middle you’d have to do that, right? Since they need quantity of average to really good major leaguers for free. how about this- who says no to Cam Smith, Ullola and Arrighetti?
  13. So- let’s say the pirates called up and said- we are trading Paul Skenes what’s your offer… would you offer: Melton, Matthews, Arrighetti and Ullola? personally I wouldn’t do it if I were houston. Pittsburgh would say no. I think any discussion for Hunter Brown would look a lot like that.
  14. Holy shit. I thought melton was going to be 9/1, not 8/1. that’s promising. Nice to see Hummel fuck right off forever. Maybe they just trade Chas for nothing much at the deadline.
  15. Hoooo boy. That value would have to be really high. 3.5 years of club control at short money for a guy I think is an ace. I’d need 2 top 50 and a top 100. I can’t imagine anyone doing that. Maybe Milwaukee? They have like 8 top 100 guys, they’d love all that club control and they are legit WS contenders right now. They have that stud that he could be a tentpole for. I’d really have to swallow hard if they offered that. I suspect they wouldn’t.
  16. Value for a true ace (how I value Framber) at the deadline is top 50, good prospect, lotto ticket. if someone gave me the Tucker package I’d do it in a heartbeat.
  17. I would absolutely trade any of our starters in the right deal for prospects. That includes Framber. The value would just have to be right. I realize I’m all alone on an island with that.
  18. Perspective on that lineup from yesterday. https://medium.com/@breathingorangefire_71114/who-are-these-guys-how-did-we-get-to-where-we-are-at-fa4111f19fad
  19. No. That’s Sydney. I’ve met him like 2X in 15 years and PM’d twice ever.
  20. How did the speeding ticket go. That’s the main thing here.
  21. Holy fucking shit. If we don’t score here after Walker was on 2B and didn’t score on the Yainer double I will kill someone.
  22. we are getting shut out. I'm just glad we didn't end up getting no hit or had a perfect game shoved up our ass. 3-3 road trip with all the injuries isn't bad. 4 with the A's and 3 with the Nationals- you'd like to think that was 6-1 or 5-2 incoming, but we will see I guess. Literally was typing mine as you were typing yours.
  23. Dana says they expect Paredes and Meyers back in August. I absolutely do not believe him. Very vague on those guys. He was much more specific on the other guys. I had pens back in the Nats series, might kiss that by a series but should be soon. Yordan maybe 8/5-8/10. sounded like Arrighetti and Javier were 2 or 3 starts away pain free.
