  1. English, motherfucker. Look up apparently. Apply to the context of what I wrote about it being an initial reaction. Then go jump up your own ass.
  2. I was going to go back to quote one of the posts saying that anyone who believed the attack was Israeli was duped by Hamas. That's too much work. It was a big explosion. Apparently a building had been devastated. There was a lot of that going around that was the result of Israeli military action. I and many others were not comparing sources; we were taking in news and drawing early conclusions that were certainly not unfounded.
  3. Read my post, and you'll see how I feel about Hamas, Mr. Kneejerk.
  4. Fair post, Beantown. I believed it was the Israelis. Now the evidence indicates otherwise. That doesn't change my position on Israel's attack on Gaza anymore than the question of beheaded babies changed my disposition towards the horrific Hamas attack on Israeli citizens. "Hey, we blockaded a huge civilian popuation, used high explosives to bombard them, and make no sign of concern about it, but we didn't blow up that hospital!" "Hey, we sprayed machine gun fire at civilians, executed families in their homes, raped everything in sight, and took captives, but we didn't chop the heads off any babies!" I deplore Biden's visit to that bloodthirsty government in Israel. I despise that we clearly don't see the life of a Palestinian civilian as valauble as an Israeli's. I'm embarrassed that everyone so easily falls into the tired narative that Israel is always on the verge of being destroyed. I want nothing to do with any of these parties other than whatever humanitarian things we can do. I don't see the Israelis as bad people nor do I see that in the Palestinians. Likud and Hamas are awful entities harming their own people and those peoples near them. I again wonder if Israel holds some of our horrible secrets such as dirty work Mossad may have done for us. Israel is not a state in the union.
  5. The power of an A&M education: 1 All those guys go to A&M because tradition and shit. 2 What? Lend itself to be a winning program? (see note 6) 3 What? Kids from OSU et al. provide recognition for their stars? 4 Words of wisdom, Lloyd. Words of wisdom. 5 College man. 6 He actually re-read this and edited it. Let that sink in. TARP: Huge fucking lie followed by absurd notion that they won some kind of victory after getting steamrolled by their SEC "brothers" into swallowing their objection to Texas coming at all and joining the unanimous vote. Beating Texas becomes their everything again. Move over little dog cuz the big dog's movin' in.
  6. It's always fun to find the guy standing behind dear Sarah with the odd expression. There's always at least one. Mr. Smirk keeps the same expression throughout the twitter video. And I'm the one standing in the background because this idiot stole 20 thousand? Thanks, God.
  7. I think local authorities seek forensic help from the FBI on a regular basis. The yokel in this town evidently couldn't find the resources to hire the new guy until the FBI didn't give them what they want. Why the yokels want it is a mystery to me. Maybe a reporter should investigate. Or the FBI as they, I think, can come in to investigate police and prosecution matters.
  8. How can they still not understand the nature of a guaranteed contract with no buyout option? Also, the Tennessee letter is an Aggie, IMHO. Sure, the entire SEC was amazed at A&M and their magnificence in getting A&M out of the Big 12 and into the SEC, a brotherhood that longed for their long lost brother to join them. The letter is a list of things many Aggies want to do thinking the guaranteed contract will crumble under siege.
  9. Only because of Aggie prayers. Can you imagine any other fans being nice to someone who fell down in the stands? At Memorial Stadium, Longhorns usually shower them in urine, stomp them to death, and then throw them off the top of the upper deck.
  10. Damn! I was just on TexAgs getting some grist for the screenshot thread. On my last look there, about two minutes ago, somebody had started a thread entitled "It's Decommit Season." It's already fucking gone.
  11. SAG is actors. WGA is writers. I was wondering the same thing about impromptu projects like this. I'm guessing the whole show shut down. They'd need writers to create the studio stuff. I guess he could have done it on his own if he just released it himself.
  12. This is a very vigorous form of self-defense we're seeing here. Was it accidentally targeted? Just a sad case of collateral damage? Does that really make a difference? I'm totally done with the Israel mythology of innocent victimhood. I want the US to have no connection whatsoever with this slaughter. How much better are we than Iran supporting Hamas or Hezbollah? Maybe our rationalizations about our own tendency to blow up non-combatants make it easier to stomach what Israel is doing. "Hey man, we weren't really aiming directly at them!" Not for me. Political expediency will prevent this from being considered, but I'd want to give Israel an ultimatum to either immediately desist in this outrage or face immediate suspension of all US aid. If they persist beyond that, recall our ambassador. I've lost all respect for the State of Israel. I hope the good people of that country can break through the blood lust of their worst people.
  13. They'll probably try to get him on a violation of their honor code or walking on the grass. Then they get to pay attorney fees on top of the guaranteed pay.
  14. Even the crooked Never Trump so-called "judge" admits that this witch hunt is "poltically motovated." FREE SPEECH! FREE YOUR FAVORITE PRESIDENT- ME! The department of Injustice and the distracted attorney corporal were right in court! PEEKABOO! They heard the judge say the prosecution was poltically motavatec! Still, they persecute me. ELECTION INTERFERENCE! CRYING MANLY MEN COMING UP TO ME! SEND MONEY TO ME NOW! I'll be looking for your name at the top of the list of patriots who want to beat the socialist dumbocrats before they destroy our great country! MONEY!!!!!!!
  15. Using the Kurds as an example of American benevolence is so very wrong. We've used and betrayed them over the decades in the most shameful of ways. Our joint involvement in fighting ISIS was maybe the worst betrayal we've ever done to anybody. We didn't invade Korea. We were there after WW2 and were attacked while there. However, we did go all out to drive the invader out only to invade N. Korea to be driven back ourselves. I think that one has worked out better for us and the Koreans than otherwise, but it's so horribly offset by Vietnam, Iraq, and all the shit we pulled in Latin America. I won't include Afghanistan because that invasion started off with a legit purpose and was actually well-run to start off. Still didn't turn out well for Afghan women and collaborators, but that's because we replaced special forces (so we could have a northern front in fucking Iraq) and replaced them with regular military. Disaster.
  16. Love the juxtaposition of those posts. And Tarp. Oh Tarp: Is that what it is supposed to do? Hasn't worked for you in 84 years. So many of them keep talking like keeping Jimbo is based on performance. They repeat the revelation that Jimbo isn't a good coach and should be fired because of that. It's the money stupid. Everybody knows it but the dullards on TexAgs. Their desire not to lose could spell trouble for Texas.
  17. I think that's true of the 12th Man* as well. *Will I be sued for using that sacred, trade-marked term without their permission? Calling @TwiceHorn, @Brisketexan, and the gang.
  18. It begins to sound like you know more about this than I do, my friend. As I was refreshing my memory about this long-ago read passage in Thucydides and long-ago taken classes, the pragamatism of the Mytilene discussion is not reported on again. I think the argument about future opponents/rebels fighting to the end which would make future rebellions more difficult to deal with stands as the more reasonable consideration. The Melian debate is the follow-up to the more punitive side of the equation. The moral force of leniency is absent in the discussion and it's all about making an example of Melos whom had tried to be neutral in the Peloponnesion war between Sparta and Athens. The Athenians, as I think you know, completed the siege and put all the men to the sword and enslaved the rest. Refreshing my memory, I opened wikipedia and will rely on the below for concise analysis: The US seems to lean more towards the Athens of the Melian Dialogue. We're aggressive with military bases and forces all over the world. Our civic discourse is filled with worries about looking weak and keeping everybody else frightened. Since the Marshall Plan and the rebuilding of Japan (enlightened self-interest, both), who has ever benefitted from a US invasion? We don't care about civilian casualties from our use of explosive attack. We killed tens of thousands in Iraq. So now, Israel. They've gone from something akin to a city-state to a local military giant and empire builder. Their taking Palestine the same way we took our continent. Treaty> Illegal settlements > Calling resistance savage and uncalled for > Send in the army to formalize the settlements. Sure, there'll be a little guilt. We feel a little about enslaving other people or wiping them out, but it's transient. Now that I'm writing too long, another thought occurs to me. We and Israel always claim moral authority. We had it in WW2 and view all wars as WW2. That authority is long gone. So it may be with Israel. Once the world placed the Jews in that spot, they had no choice but to fight. It was once for simple survival whether one thinks they should have been given that land or not. Now? Not so much.
  19. Athens voted to rescind the first directive and sent the second of their two state triremes, Paralos and Saliminia, to try to overtake the first which had sailed for the island. That vessel, arrived in Mytilene just in time to stop the original order from being carried out. This is all frum Thucydides.
