  1. Aggy comment. Best evidence of how they’d fare is- wait for it- how they actually did.
  2. Even so, they’ve apparently decided they’re still going to play the game v forfeit. But, should be a stress-free day.
  3. Uncanny lack of player development. 4 & 5* that almost seem to regress over the course of 3-4 years. On current roster, Bijan & X were ready from the jump, who can we say has developed significantly over their time on the 40? Even in the last 10 years? That’s on coaching, but it’s also on players & culture. Great teams have player leadership that won’t let teammates fail to develop. And, do we really think 4&5* don’t come in with fundamental high-level abilities, such that if you just threw the ball out there, told them to develop their own sandlot scheme on the fly, they couldn’t/shouldn’t beat half the teams we play? Yesterday, who thinks if O lined up & gave it to Bijan 40 times, stacked box or not, it would’ve eventually worked. On D, if told PK not to call anything, just let D run man coverage the entire game, with blitzes mixed in as D captain chose, who thinks that would’ve been worse than the D scheme PK actually called? Current coaching seems to make the talent worse.
  4. CDC reply- “it wasn’t a big 12 crew, Slingblade. Maybe stay in your lane, I don’t go to where you work and shake the Slurpee machine.”
  5. Last March Madness, with 3 now-NBA players on his roster, Shaka lost to Abilene Christian (starters for which you might not choose in a pickup game @ the Y). If you were the coach, you could’ve rolled the ball out, told the 3 NBA draft picks to come up with a game plan to outscore the other team, then headed out for a beer, confident in a W. Yet somehow, Shaka coached them to a loss.
  6. Langston Love (true frosh) was hurt in pre-season. Back next year.
  7. Texas has been a woeful underperformer relative to its resources, including perennial top recruiting classes that somehow don’t translate into on-field success. That’s the headscratcher, and what drives Horns fans crazy.
  8. HarrisonB, maybe step away from the keyboard for a bit. Enjoy the current success, no need to talk smack, not a great look.
  9. That was Plan A, before A&M snitched. B12 (led by OU/UT) & SEC were going to get plan passed to have large % of 12-team playoff be by rank. That would’ve meant disproportionate rep from SEC. Now, all non-SEC conferences (incl B12) will presumably only vote for a Plan B that includes weighting to conf champs, w/ fewer slots by rank. Aggy screwed it up for new SEC, as other conferences now have guards up. Should be interesting negotiations.

This. The expression “redneck bbq- 1 set of ribs, too many cooks with an opinion on how to cook ‘em” comes to mind. 1 bad hire, stuff happens. 2 bad hires, real concern. 3 bad hires, it’s a pattern. At this point, most logical explanation is flawed administrative culture exacerbated by bad processes (winging it v methodical search).
  11. Very Aggy to think refs were the problem last night (or this season).
  12. Related- MOC seems to be doing a good job. Culture goes from strength to strength.
  13. Username checks out for Red Swingline, dance troupe. Pics?
  14. Fenves: “15% of undergraduate women at UT Austin reported that they had been raped . . . . Furthermore, 28% of undergraduate women at UT Austin said they were the victims of unwanted sexual touching, and 12% experienced attempted rape.” Does 55% qualify as “rape-embracing culture?” https://president.utexas.edu/messages-speeches-2017/results-of-sexual-assault-survey
  15. Been 10+ years of mostly mediocre results in conference, at this point blaming it on the refs seems very Aggy. If there’s a conspiracy between B12 & refs to keep us from winning, it’d be one long-lasting conspiracy to keep secret. Working the refs better from the sidelines might help, but more importantly just need to execute at a higher level so bad calls from refs can’t determine the outcome.
  16. OU/GA, then Horns, then Bama? So, we’d be 3rd in the SEC this year? Smh. We’ve 1 2nd place finish in the B12 the last 10 years, otherwise consistently 4th place or lower. Maybe SEC will prove easier path to finish top tier, but that seems counterintuitive.
  17. Baylor beat then #14 Iowa State yesterday. 2-2 ISU also lost to (now #5) Iowa, but ISU’s going to be a tough out as season progresses, too much senior talent not to be.
  18. One could conclude timing of this survey was coincidental and results were simply overlooked. One could also conclude issues of the day weren’t limited to one school, schools including UT tried to get out in front of it, and (sports) media had a certain agenda- kill one story, sensationalize another. Some think media just report stories even-handedly based on the facts with no agenda. But some also give their kids Old Testament names like Jedediah, Mordecai, and such. https://president.utexas.edu/messages-speeches-2017/results-of-sexual-assault-survey
  19. “Sensitive Skin” wipes for the delicate duo eating a combined 8,000 calories & 6,000 mg of sodium.
  20. Driving with buddies to FL Panhandle in high school for ‘86 senior trip, gf left 2 hrs before we did, got to Destin w/ her girlfriends 2 hrs after us. I asked what happened, she said they got to Mobile & saw sign b4 tunnel that said “Hazardous Cargo, exit 64.” She took it to be a warning there was HazCargo ahead & thus they needed to exit. Routed them to the north, they drove back roads, no Interstate, most of the rest of the way.
  21. Group suggesting dirty coaches were all-in for choir boy Urban Meyer, settled for Eagle Scout Sark after Meyer jilted them. Know your audience.
  22. I asked her to tell me more, she explained that if it has a light on it, it’s drawing power even if not on. I tried not to laugh but failed, so now I’m the thoughtless one.
