  2. Are we really Walter Nolen-ing a low 4 star with 1 OL spot left?
  3. https://www.perfectgame.org/players/playerprofile.aspx?ID=596710 Recent USC decommit following Longley
  4. This excludes Shelby, Gullete, Pilot, Baxter, Osborne, Hale, Vasek So Hill, Akana, Toviano, Deal, Shanahan?
  5. On 1 total prediction from an OU mod I’ve never heard of
  6. Last year some of the borderline guys were hungry for another shot in Omaha. I don’t really think there’s anything left for Kennedy or Southard in college now
  7. That extra year of age matters and probably offsets him potentially cleaning up the hit tool in both draft order and bonus negotiations
  8. Without Tulo I don’t think it made sense for Trey to come back. Let a pro team fix your swing instead of Rodriguez
  9. Don’t think Cox gets taken there if he’s not signing, but wonder if the slots are small enough now where an NIL counter can make a difference
  10. Draft starting back up. Gotta keep 2/3 of Flores, Cox, Thomas
  11. Damn. Sark and Marion have to deal with a target on their backs for over 2 months here
  12. https://medium.com/@tieranbaseball/mlb-draft-top-500-prospects-fba9fe7fceaf Very in-depth on the top 100 prospects. Fun read on Ivan. Says Bolte is asking for $2.5MM. I never like having hope during draft week
  13. Pierce taking a catcher makes me think we’re out of it. Skenes certainly could want to focus on pitching only, but I would say his value drops way off if that’s the case. We beat him up in the regional, I suspect that would happen frequently in a power conference. He was all American as a utility guy, not exclusively as a pitcher
  14. DC being able to play 3rd is super helpful. A lot easier to fill an outfield spot. 2 mashers, one for first one for dh. And we need 2 SPs, 1 being a Friday guy
  15. Nice. BU always recruited above their weight class in CA and had a good top half of their order. Hopefully the pitching coach hire is at least this splashy
  16. Was waiting for this. Spiegelman doesn’t seem like a scoop merchant, but a low % crystal ball on a guy that’s never had more than “use them to beef up my commitment graphic” level interest in us seemed like a big leap
  17. Why are we canning guys without replacements lined up? There’s no reason to have staff openings for any longer than is legally required. Not that we’ve lost anyone earth shattering, but we’re still more susceptible to transfers out and only have Pierce working on transfers in
  18. Yeah I actually don’t even think that roster sizes shrink now that I’m looking it up. That’s just what the popular reasoning was at the time. And I didn’t really notice anyone else missing in the dugout last week
  19. Roster limits shrink for Omaha. He didn’t choose not to go
  20. True. Pretty close to a Flood or Jerrance Howard
  21. It would be shocking if we could pull him. Tennessee is all in on baseball right now, can’t see them being out bid. And their staff is far and away the best in the country while he’d be building from almost nothing here.
  22. There’s a big difference between finding the perfect missing piece to round out an order and needing to find 5 of those. And trying to replace Quintanilla with under recruited juco guys instead of elite transfers last offseason was a failure
  23. Wake the fuck up, Pierce. Johnson got all his assistants poached and he’s still pulling elite transfers
  24. Merry Archmas to all
  25. CDC needs to tell our major coaches to retire the “…will not be entrusted to the weak nor timid” until they can go one rivalry game without filling their diapers
