  1. I just did the same for my tenants. It builds a lot of tenant loyalty and goodwill, though doing it because it's the right thing is the main reason to do it. I hope commercial lenders will voluntarily forbear or be forced to by law if this mess stretches out more than a couple months.
  2. I grew up in Monte Vista and went to Catholic schools so I can't speak to the education question. But I loved growing up in near Downtown with so much to see and do. I used to bike all around the downtown area with buddies. I never have and never will understand those who like suburban life beyond the more affordable real estate. The schools near downtown have improved a lot and would give the kids a more diverse experience and an easier shot at top 6% or whatever it is now. A lot of people nearby paid to send their kids out of district to Alamo Heights. I don't know if that's still a thing people do.
  3. I didn't know Michael Stipe worked in the government.

    Colombia

Just got back from a three week Colombia/Peru trip. Cartagena to Medellin to Salento to Bogota itinerary. Medellin was my favorite by far. Beautiful mountains, great restaurants and bars. Salento was tops for natural beauty. Reminded me a lot of parts of Costa Rice. The local food was ok, but I didn't go for the food like I would in Mexico. Beautiful country and really friendly people.
  5. I'm a commercial landlord with about 10 small businesses in my properties. [/CSB] I've let them know we'll work something out if their cash flow dries up for the next few months. I don't see how anyone wins if you're evicting tenants and you have a vacant space for months. We all need to work together and understand we live and die together in this mother fucking storm.
  6. Yep. HEB is saying their supply is as consistent as ever and not to be fucking stupid.
  7. So yea or nay, is it ethical/safe to order delivery? I want to support local restaurants but not endanger workers or my family.
  8. Shit man, I don't know. I'm a dumb lawyer like most posters here. I guess I figured I would figure it out in an emergency. Better than doing nothing.
  9. You're right of course. But let's say hospitals are full to the tilt and your loved ones can't get care, do you just say fuck it and if they die they die?
  10. Not at all. I would make it available to anyone who needs it. And I doubt medical facilities are buying used equipment from EBay. If I heard about a medical facility needing equipment, I would immediately provide it to them. Calm down with the holier than thou self righteous attitude man. I'm not talking about hoarding it away, just about making up for any local deficiencies. Jesus Christ, no need to be a fucking dick.
  11. I have elderly parents and there have been a lot of stories in the news about hospitals being potentially overwhelmed and short of necessary medical equipment. To that end, does it make sense to buy medical equipment for the house such as a respiratory machine and similar items to care for loved ones if a hospital is unable to? Is this just paranoia run amuck?
  12. Yeah, I just returned from Peru Wednesday. No screening, testing, or anything else for anyone.
  13. Every Trump voter deserves a savage beating. And fuck certain both-siders who have justified and normalized Trump's behavior over the last 3 years. This mess is their fault.
  14. I won't say it's impossible, but at this point I think his retardery is now well established on all but the most retarded 30% of deplorables.
  15. The upside to being the wealthiest nation on earth is that we have the brain power and resources to develop solutions quickly. Hopefully, as you mention, we can quickly mass produce these solutions.
  16. While we wallow in the depressing muck of the devastating medical and economic effects of Trump's handling of the carona virus, I thought it would be constructive (and a break from the feelings of helplessness) to consider what could potentially be some silver linings of this disaster. Here are some I hope to see. Biden or Bernie defeat Trump Democrats take senate Republican party and their 35% of deplorables are shunned for a generation At the very least, a powerful public option or medicare option for all is passed by said Senate and House Science becomes the driving force of major public policy decisions The U.S. dramatically increases foreign aid to combat climate change, global virus/diseases, and poverty
  17. Agreed. Time will heal those wounds for most Bernie supporters, particularly as Trump keeps throwing gas on his dumpster fire imperiling all of us.
  18. Bernie pulled the party left and and the country left and we're all better off for it because Biden will be working from a far further left status quo in terms of policy than he otherwise would have pre 2016. I'm grateful for Bernie and hope he remains a strong voice for Democrats and progressive policy in the general election.
  19. If it's still around in November, that's an interesting thought.
  20. I don't think it is. People are tired of trolls and suburban moms are going to be happy he stood up to a gun freak. I can see them nodding and thinking, "yeah, who the hell needs so many rounds?" Assholes like this were never voting for a Democrat anyways.
