  1. I have Worthy over Bond. I think he is better after the catch than Bond, but that is arguable. I do think Helm vs Sanders is legit. I just lean to Quinn being 1 year better and more efficient. Either way the offense appears better and that is what really matters
  2. Wingo will be the best of the bunch when he leaves, but he is not quite there yet. He may get there by the end of the season. It is more like this Worthy vs Bond Mitchell vs Golden JWhitt vs Moore that is starters vs starters. How many starters are you picking from 2024 over 2023?
  3. That was impressive and very similar to the Wyoming play from Worthy. I am not sure Bond is as shifty as Worthy. I think Worthy is faster, but I would pay money to see them race.
  4. Quinn lit up Bama in both games (at least until he left in the 1st game). Lot more man coverage from Bama. Quinn going 10-16 on 3rd down with over 7 yards to go on average vs Michigan, was really impressive. Depth is better, but last year's topline guys are better. Sark brought the rotation way in vs Michigan. That was the only game vs decent defense Texas has played this year.
  5. I dont this this group has really upgraded the WR position from last year. Almost impossible to do that. I do think Ewers' improvement, has upgraded the overall offense. I am not sure Ewers from 2023 could have shredded that Michigan defense. I thought Ewers played his best game ever as a Longhorn vs Michigan this year.
  6. Not a soccer fan, but it is excellent at developing footwork. That is benefit for these big boys that grew up playing soccer.
  7. Watching TyAnthony and LeFau has eased concerns over LB depth.. That said this class is looking very good. Wingo is averaging a ridiculous 31.5 yards per touch Simmons is already the best pass rusher on the team. 6 tackles vs UTSA, speaks to him rounding out his game to more than just a specialist. Probably needs another year in S&C before you put him out there vs a power team. Leads the team in tackles for loss and sacks Gibson leading the team is rushing.
  8. How many stud DT are in the portal every year? Maybe 1 or 2? How many has Texas won so far? It’s very hard to find All-conference type players in the portal. It is arguably the hardest position to find in the portal. That is part of the reason that a kid playing in his 2nd or 3rd football game ever has most the SEC begging him to come to their school.
  9. If he goes 100-100 with 25 tds the next 3 games (that includes OU), not only will I say he should be the starting QB, I will write him in on my Presidential ballot
  10. Arch is definitely a better athlete. They claimed he hit 20.7 mph on his TD run. I do think Arch will eventually surpass Ewers, but that day is at least a year or 2 down the road. Arch was a little slower to process reads. Missed the blitz. Not surprising for a kid getting his first real action. Arch will likely get there, but his ability to read defenses is behind Quinn’s right now. I hate to see Ewers injured. It’s never good to lose a starting QB, but if it had to happen this was perhaps the best time for it. Arch getting some live bullets has the potential to really help this team down the road
  11. Not been talked about much, but I think Scottie Hazelton is contributing to the staff. He has been around block. He is now coaching the NBs. At a minimum that has lessened the load for Gideon and Joseph. Secondary looks to be communicating at a much higher level this year compared to the last few. I would not be surprised if he is a sounding board for PK and Nansen
  12. This is exactly why you take some portal guys. They took portal guys, because they did not want to risk the season on players that have not seen the field much. Texas is trying to compete for championships, it would be insanely stupid not to get some insurance in the portal. Again that can change over the course of the season but based on current rotations it would be Dabo Sweeny type shit to not bring in a couple DTs next year.
  13. Its not stupid. If it was stupid Texas would not haven taken 3 portal DL this year. The coaches realized it was an issue. All of those guys you mentioned were at least rotational pieces before they broke out. The younger Dts are not really in the rotation, so its a big risk to rely on them to be starters next year. We will see how the season plays out, maybe someone emerges, but as of right now it is almost a lock that Texas brings in a couple DTs for next year. This class is highly unlikely to fix any issues in the 2025 season.
  14. havent watched but he is 3rd in tackles on the team.
  15. Georgia is ridiculously stacked at DL. They have 3 of the top 10 DL in the nation. 5 of the top 25. 24 of the top 200 DL in the nation. So you know there is going to be a bunch of under-rated kids, because the services dont want to over-represent 1 state.
  16. If national committed kids are calling Texas, I just hope it is a couple of the top 10 CBs. That is one part of the class that has not been addressed.
  17. This was a masterpiece by Sark. He hammered Michigan on the perimeter early (pass game and even a quick pitch). Getting Grant and Graham moving laterally and tiring them out. When Michigan subbed Grant and Graham out he went big and hit them on inside runs. Michigan brought in a DE that hadnt played, Sark runs a reverse at him. I am not sure Texas threw 1 pass at Will Johnson, but Sark targeted the LBs and Safeties with Helm. Ewers was just insane. This is arguably his best game. He was just in control from the start. Stepping up in the pocket and hitting WRs. Converting medium to long 3rd downs consistently. I am having a hard time thinking of another QB that would have performed like that on Saturday.
  18. What? Michigan had a scoring drive in the 1st half. That seems off or poorly written.
  19. I dont think Bijan ever committed to OSU. Lot of noise though
  20. I remember the tipped pass that went to Helm on 3rd down. Michigan fan behind me cursed and said "this is not our day" Michigan Rbs were OK. Mulings, Edwards, and Hall went 17 for 80 (4.7). Once Texas got out front by a few TDs, it was hard to stick to the 3 yards and a cloud of dust. Play calling was a stark difference. I remember a 3rd and 2 around the 40 for Michigan in the 1st half. I couldnt believe the went straight drop back with no play action, if you throw the ball. I expected them to run there with the idea that if they get 1 yard, they go for it on 4th. Went for a pick, Texas marched down, and the fat lady was warming up.
  21. Ewers was amazing. Texas was 10-16 on 3rd down and if I heard Scipio correctly the average distance was 7+ yards. That 1st half was probably 80%+ conversion rate. That is a testament to how well he played. IF that number was 35-40% (Texas was 38% last year on 3rd downs), it is a different game.
  22. They do. The whole Manning story is BS.
  23. Harbaugh doesn’t recruit to build college football dynasty. He is a great coach, but recruiting isn’t his thing. He is more Bill Synder, than Saban
  24. Michigan did exactly what people thought they would do. They blitzed. Sark had all summer to prepare for that. He abused them in the short game and Quinn was dealing. Obvious game plan was just a bad call
