  1. Not a huge fan. TEs are not good blockers. Easier for a defense to run line games on an OL that struggles to pick up stunts and blitzes. Then you have the TE is pass protection. We saw Washington give up a sack when he was 1 on 1 with a DE. The frustrating part was Goosby blocked nobody next to him, so even with all the blockers in MSU got the 1 on 1 mismatch
  2. Offenses have hurt Texas with TEs and crossing routes the last 2 weeks. Vandy has an NFL TE. They will be happy to take the underneath stuff. I don’t think Vandy has any crazy speed on the outside, so I don’t think the DBs will play as deep as last week. Vandy will use the same formula though. They will attack Guilbeau, Littleton, and the LBs with the passing game.
  3. This has been talked about for quite awhile, but the issue is will Sark change. He sees the same thing everyone else does, but he has not shown the willingness to change. Hope was there after the OU game plan, only to see Sark revert to something resembling the Florida game plan vs UK. I hope it changes, but we will see
  4. Have to tip the cap to vintage Blake Shape in crunch time. Missed an easy TD on the slant that would have tied it in OT. Then on the final play he just drops the football and takes the sack to seal the game
  5. There are 2 truths to this. 1. The TEs are not great blockers and honestly haven’t been under Sark 2. It is asking a fucking lot of freshmen TE to block a DE 1 on 1 in pass pro. I know Ewers hated it
  6. I’ll give credit to Texas Homer. He has been bitching about this since basically OSU. He has Sark over complicates things. Texas doesn’t do a lot of easy spread things that other teams do everyday. Spreading things out makes things easier for everyone. The OL struggled with stunts and blitz pick-ups. You go 12 personnel and invite all those defenders in the box, it’s makes it easier to disguise stunts and blitzes. Probably go make at some point to see how much of it was MSU or the Texas OL late in the game. My guess is a bit off both after the initial watch
  7. Love that guy. Not many coaches would have punted to Nibblett with lead like that.
  8. He has looked very good in limited time. His career stats are worrisome. Sub 60% comp, 22 TDs, and 15 ints through 5 seasons. Feels like we are going to find out on Saturday
  9. His PFF grade is in the 80s with clean pockets and he was top 10 in the name in Big time throws this season
  10. This was all reminiscent of Tom Herman. Run my typical shit until the 4Q. Get behind and say spread them out and let the QB work. Time is a flat circle
  11. Correct. Any gameplan that features a one-dimensional offense is putting the offense in a position to fail. This is the worst pass blocking unit in the P4 based on the numbers. Arch has a 87.8 PFF grade from a clean pocket. Unfortunately, he doesnt see many clean pockets. Getting 1 dimensional is a great way to ensure there are not clean pockets.
  12. Completely asinine. Texas had 2 runs to RBs in the first 18 plays. Outside zone can crease teams blitzing and stunting, like OU. You had this play which should have been a big winner, if not a TD. Clark misses a huge gain. Clark cuts it up here, if he follows outside and cuts up off Robertson's ass this is a huge play. Campbell would have 7 pinned inside. At that point it would have been Clark vs a Safety 1 on 1.. No reason to abandon the run.
  13. throwing out the G5, Texas has given up more pressures than any P4 team this year. Seems unlikely Texas will break out on offense with that backdrop.
  14. Watching Scip and he just said if you throw out non-P4 games, the Texas OL has given up more pressure than any P4 team
  15. I think it is too early for that kind of realization. I think an ugly year record would force Sark to rethink things. If they somehow win ugly this year, I am not sure Sark looks in the mirror. That is just my guess, but Sark could surprise either way.
  16. Florida and OU used mostly stunts to attack the LG/C with 2 and 3 high looks behind. Kentucky used more 2nd level/3rd level pressures to get to Arch. Teams will go back and forth between the 2 approaches. No matter the approach, defenses are going to hunt the Left A gap. Offense will need to stick to run the ball and rely on the quick game, like the OU game. The longest run vs Kentucky was an 8-yard run by Clark. He misread the play and if he hit the proper hole, he would have been 1 on 1 with the Safety for probable 40-50 yard TD. This OL and Qb cannot handle a defense that is teeing off on them, because Texas is 1 dimensional. Anyone thinking they can is delusional.
  17. There were rumors that Day got much more involved in play calling after Michigan last year. You saw Day on the sidelines with the play sheets in his hands vs Texas and throughout the playoffs. I do not think hiring an OC will go the way people think. Sark will take back control at the hint of any issues. I think the biggest issue is Sark the HC/CEO is good. He has managed recruiting, boosters, and the defense expertly. Sark the HC has had the hard conversations with PK. He brought in Gary Patterson to help. He brought in Nansen, when he wanted to get more aggressive. PK listened and evolved his defense. In a perfect world HC Sark would have those same conversations with OC Sark. That is not happening because HC Sark cannot separate and look objectively at his dual roles as HC and OC. His identity is based on being a great play designer and play caller, I do not see him giving that up outside of disastrous results. I hope I am wrong.
  18. That was a depressing listen. Summarizing Dan; "OL is the biggest issue on offense" "Can it get fixed?" Dan: "No"
  19. Damn, you are thin skinned man. This is simple. You dont need to spend hours cutting up the most analyzed player in the country. Teams are attacking the LG/Center because they are bad. The 38 pressures for the LC/Center positions in 7 games is a testament to that. If Hayden Connor and Jake Majors were on the team this year, this would not be a consistent plan of attack (success rate would be much lower). They do it for a couple reasons. #1 Interior pressure is the best pressure on ANY QB, you have to be an idiot to argue that. #2 LG and Center are bad this year, so the success rate is high. Somehow you are ignoring Occam's razor and trying to say defenses are attacking the worst player on the OL, because Manning is mobile.
  20. Guessing you are thinking of Tim beck that coached at Texas. This is a different guy
  21. Teh Tony Hills rant should be here. Starts around the 29 minute mark.
  22. The answer is simple as to why the offense is bad. It is YES. The question does not really matter, because its basically a failure across the board. Fans dont want to admit that, because that has no simple answer
