  1. Harvard was my safety school
  2. "The Israelis Did This."
  3. Why would any other country do anything nice for America or Americans?
  4. Gummie free. Flashback to 'shroom experience is the only explanation I have. Did you see it? Maybe it's my age but I just accepted that it was some kind of allegory or metaphor or something or other and it really got my brain, and my head, and my mind going. The imagery was really beautiful and frightening at the same time. Plus the cat reminded me of our little minpin dog.
  5. ...and don't watch the trailer for flow. It might ruin it. So would watching it with someone else.
  6. Flow - 2024 This movie was fantastic. Spirited Away meets Bambi meets Watership Down meets Apocalypse Now meets I don't know what the fuck. Emotional as hell. I don't want to read about it for fear of the explanation being something I can understand. It felt like deja vu, and maybe mortality or immortality. No words.
  7. I may be misreading, but what is your solution to the elderly nursing home v. live in their own house issue? (I think the hunter gatherers had the cleanest solution. The dude who was around 30 who just followed everyone around and if someone couldn't keep up, they hit them over the head.)
  8. Sigh of relief when I didn't see "Surly moniker" and/or "Hours Spent on surly/I'd Pee in Her Butt".
  9. Free speech a different issue than information pollution.
  10. Well got damn, the Dotard was right about all of this.
  11. Every time I think of that couch in the oval office.
  12. Finish line is in 3.9 years. I just think he'll pass away of natural causes in his sleep, peacefully, dreaming of grabbing.
  13. Missed a good opportunity for a Pulp Fiction reference when Spence saw Alex in the snow. A TaunTaun showing up would have been as realistic.
  14. Well, if you count the full 8 years. More than:
  15. Pricing going up is the goal (and shows we are winning). Is anyone here a quant? Because I would like some reassurance from a quant.
  16. The premise of this thread is important, but I think we are at a point where we just approach this as if Trump and his cult are the enemy of the country and we just have to accept that the folks who voted for him are beyond redemption. Anyone who comes around -- that's gravy. And if they come around, they need to be treated like the prodigal son. We need to laser focus on the enemies of the country who have power through money or political office. We all bear the repercussions of allowing them to seize power. I'm not getting much joy out of shaming the victims who were irresponsible with their votes.
  17. You bought more than six gallons, didn't you?
  18. Trump's going to cut a deal where he and his family and every family friend gets a lifetime pardon and a payment of a billion trillion dollars a year for his lifetime plus 25 years in exchange for him not running for and winning a third term.
  19. This is a great point. Maybe the only advice to give is is that they should approach all of their issues as if there are "no shitty people, just shitty ideas." When one side has no shame, what is the value in belittling them? There isn't really any satisfaction either.
  20. Saw a story on the uncertainty in the auto industry in Mexico and was pretty enraged. I love my country and I know what uniform I have to wear but I love other countries as much and I hate when this asshole needlessly fucks with them. Agree on the uncertainty. Trump can change 180 degrees and he'll still be the hero to his cult. Or not change and still be the hero.
  21. Spencer has really gone from being the cool dude that all the guys want to hang out with to being an insufferable grouch. I guess Costner got the grouchy genes from him.
