  1. No, I'd say perpetual whining is par for the course.
  2. Yeah, but then what would people have had to bitch about for the last half a dozen pages?
  3. Yeah, that sounds like you understand it.
  4. I’m witnessing a great example of the oppositional defiant disorder in action right now. Our church is partnering with DSHS to host a vaccine clinic this Friday at our facility, anyone in the community welcome. As part of promoting that, we’ve bought an ad on Facebook targeted at anyone in our immediate area. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, lots of likes, shared, etc. But there’s been 8-10 negative reactions, including comments of a gif of sheep jumping a fence, a fierce “NO! POISON,” and a rant that we needed to stay in our lane (all deleted immediately-not the place for debate). Theres any number of websites, message boards, Facebook groups, your own personal page, wherever that you can post that sort of stuff to your hearts content. Who posts responses like that to a church??? And @TwiceHorn’s description is the answer.
  5. I have no idea where he got his specific data, but here’s some info that at least demonstrates it’s not a uniquely American problem, which was his primary point. (This article comes with the disclaimer that it’s problematic to try to compare the stats for homelessness across countries for a variety of reasons.) https://yaleglobal.yale.edu/content/cities-grow-so-do-numbers-homeless
  6. Again, I’m puzzled because you’re arguing against literally the opposite of what he said.
  7. I would like the whole UT system to improve too, but no one is sending their kid to Ole Miss because it’s a great school. There are already multiple, in-state, public options that are equal or better outside of The University. You mention knowing a lot of these people in Houston-Ole Miss is no better than UH if academics are the only concern (it’s no better than UT Dallas either).
  8. I actually agree with you on the first sentence. But I don’t get the rest given that most of the posts on this thread are actually calling for them to play games etc. I’m not sure who you’re arguing with.
  9. [pedant]Do they want the fight song to go? Or The Eyes of Texas?[/pedant]
  10. I think I’ve posted a similar rant 2-3 times before when this has come up. The fact that “Standard Time” is now by definition not the standard irritates me more than it should. Pick a time, any time, and stick to it.
  11. My only quibble here is “a slice.” There’s no way I’d leave myself only one without polishing it off the night before, and there’s no way I’d limit myself to one if there’s more.
  12. Probably worse. His voice was described by contemporaries as things like shrill, sharp, almost falsetto.
  13. He says near the end “what is the real number who have been killed or injured BY these vaccines.” He went beyond implying to outright claiming.
  14. Quality games and compelling matchups are great. Half the first round games in a 16 team playoff typically won’t offer that. By that criteria, most mid-tier bowls would be better, in fact.
  15. Yeah, you do seem like you’re having fun.
  16. To even ask this is an implicit defense of Hitler. Shame on you.
  17. So is she getting that energy from yours or hers?
  18. Roman Hispania included modern day Portugal.
  19. I’m not sure a board devoted to college football is the best target for that sort of rant.
  20. Alternatively, you could just assume he remembers he went undrafted.
  21. Agree. I not only like the bowls, I much prefer that to these 16 team playoff proposals. Watching two relatively evenly matched, decent 9-3 teams who don’t usually play each other is much more interesting than the prospect of a #1 Bama vs #16 MAC champion.
  22. All I see here is yet another defense of Hitler.
  23. He’d have to make the roster. So I’d be very surprised.
