  1. Florida a spanish name that is clearly 'male' jfc so Florido now? On a side note, shorty has been doing all sorts of weird shit to win back good will. A conservative leaning friend who lives in the Keys said all the locals are pissed about his special one day pre mini lobster season. Something no one wants, no asked for, and will punish a deep red part of the state. I think even the kool aid drinkers are starting to see him for who he is.
  2. Yeah I got the point and concede that the states were admitted via a political process to balance various interests (most long since irrelevant) But I was going more for a blame the red state morons approach. Which I think everybody got... but if not read on My comment was meant to convey There are effective controls on the courts (despite hyperbolic posts to the contrary) Those controls are largely wielded by the senate in the form of approval/consent (I know the house is needed for impeachment) The fact that the senate has not wisely used (or used at all) those controls is an indictment of their constituents because... Senators are sent via a state wide election so that local level fuckery is not an excuse for shitty, unethical, hacks diddling the levers of power instead of wielding them
  3. Yeah I get that, but my point is that Florida and Texas have bat shit crazy senators... you can't just blame the game (politics) you've got to blame the player (our fellow iggit countrymen)

  5. Well, My uninformed opinion is that past colonialism, immigration, combined with virulent thinly veiled racism drives the gains on the right. French citizens reported (hundreds of?) thousands of Jews that French police arrested and loaded into trains east. They don't like to talk about that, but it's true. In my personal experience, much of mainland Europe is AT LEAST as racist as Alabama/Mississippi and much more blatant about it. I'm not saying everyone, but holy shit it's not uncommon. I say that as a white boy who grew up in the south in the 70's. I used to think it might be just because I'm an asshole, but it's strange that I only seem to have problems when traveling with my wife (who is also from the south, isn't an asshole, but IS of Asian descent). Some of the shit that happens is mind blowing. One of the funnier ones was a concierge who, with a smirk, would only recommend Chinese restaurants and didn't know of any other food options in the city of Frankfurt.

  10. One of my favorite bands as a Lad... They had a xylophone, 2 synths, 3 guitars, drums, bass, and a whole ass horn section. Phenomenal in concert.
  11. hoping for a 15 inning slugfest... Lots of arms burned and the late game moved to tomorrow. But 10rc or the noles will inevitably disappoint.
  12. Stolen from a post on a Gata board.. stats unchecked and would be prior to the UK game. tl/dr He's legit "Cag’s has now been walked or has walked 14 times in the tournament. NcSt 2 A&M 1 Clemson 4 Okst 2 Nebraska 5 Nebraska just didn’t pitch to him. 5 walks. When they did pitch to him, he made them pay, 3 hits and 4 RBI’s. Clemson was equally terrified walking him 4 times. When they did pitch to him he had 3 hits and 5 RBI’s."
  13. I think you mean 'Fixed' I don't really pay attention to baseball until the regionals, but my sense of things is that this Gata team can still fuck this up.
  14. Mont Ventoux is going to be a real bitch on those rigs... or any rig in my case. The key is to have really short cranks for the sprint

  17. SAD! Trump gag order appeal dismissed by New York’s top court New York’s highest court on Tuesday dismissed former President Donald Trump’s appeal of the gag order in his criminal hush money trial. The New York Court of Appeals in a brief decision declined to hear Trump’s bid “upon the ground that no substantial constitutional question is directly involved.” The decision means Trump’s gag order, which bars him from speaking about jurors, witnesses and other parties involved in the Manhattan Supreme Court case, remains in effect. Trump’s attorneys have also asked Judge Juan Merchan, who presided over the trial, to terminate the gag order because the trial is over. The Manhattan District Attorney’s office, however, urged Merchan to keep the restrictions in place, at least until after a sentencing hearing is held and certain post-trial motions are resolved. Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said in a statement that the former president and his legal team “will continue to fight against the unconstitutional Gag Order imposed by Justice Merchan.” The order “wrongfully silences” Trump “at the height of his campaign,” Cheung said, adding that voters “have a fundamental right to hear his message.” Trump’s attorney Todd Blanche and a spokesperson for the Manhattan DA declined to comment.
