  1. I think that's bait for the D's on the panel to overextend themselves in questioning BK and ask something really beyond the pale, putting him in a position to claim being the "victim." Because being able to claim ground as the biggest victim is what is really important in politics.
  2. I don't think you understand how this works. SCOTUS has always been a political appointment with political appointees. It's only the last 40-50 years that we started demanding that they had to go to Yale or Harvard, and have a lifetime of service as an appellate judge. And that wasn't because anyone actually cared about those things, but simply to inoculate the appointee against the other side's claim of "unqualified," which was made regardless of actual qualifications but because they didn't like their....political leanings.
  3. I've used J Hilburn for custom shirts (love them), slacks (were "ok" but took some tweaks after), and sport coats (love the materials selection). Pluses include good materials that they rotate regularly. However I've been less happy w/ the service from my JH rep. She wanted to charge me for an extra set of alterations on a sport coat when the fit wasn't perfect - uh no bitch, I paid a ton of money for a custom coat, you'll adjust it until it's right. Overall though, they've nailed the fit on shirts for me so I typically buy one every other month or so since I lost a bunch of weight to repopulate my closet. Recently, I needed a suit on short notice for a funeral. Because of the weight loss (hiya keto), none of my old stuff fit. JH couldn't turn one around quick enough and I don't have good luck buying off the rack b/c of my body type (barrel chest, athletic thighs). So I poked around and did Knot Standard. Same basic model as JH, a little more pricey and high end. Probably 10x the selection in terms of materials of JH, and they have a storefront where you go to downtown to get sized and make selection. Very happy with the experience and they turned my suit around in <2 weeks, M2M. That includes an initial sizing and they had their local tailor tweak it over the weekend to get it perfect for me on the next Monday when I needed it and couriered it to my home in Cedar Park to get it to me on time. Next step is to do a blazer in this, channel my inner Del Conte:
  4. Huh...so Tony leaves...and Brent Barry returns...coincidence? I think NOT!
  5. Because we do everything by committee and are as conservative AF. Also we do get our share of talent but we haven’t used it right, and misses in a Few key spots like QB and OL have hamstrung us. It’s not complicated...
  6. Cops lookout for their own, in other news, dog bites man and water found to be wet
  7. Same, I've been holding out on my S1. I'll just get GPS only though, no need for Cellular.
  8. "Unique challenges" with the fly sweep??? Doesn't EVERY team in the country have that play in the playbook? C'mon man.
  9. He's nervous. I can't imagine the pressure involved in being the Texas coach. Yeah, he chose the job and yeah he gets millions of dollars but that doesn't erase the pressure. I'm guessing that no one on this thread is perfect and no one on this thread has to stand up in front of the press after you screw up and own it. BTW I'm not a Herman fan, at all. But I can empathize with anyone behind that podium.
  10. He is going to regret that Of Mice and Men analogy for the rest of his career. It will span memes of memes.
  11. https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/dolphin-bathing-ban/index.html (CNN) — Watching "Jaws" as a kid might have left you with a lifetime fear of swimming with sharks, but who knew swimming with dolphins could be dangerous? The pretty coastal village of Landévennec in Finistère, in France's northwestern Brittany region, has been terrorized by a sexually aroused dolphin getting too close to swimmers. The dolphins antics got so bad that the local mayor, Roger Lars, banned bathing on the Brittany beach, issuing a new bylaw. Now local swimmers are prevented from getting closer than 40 meters to the dolphin.
  12. Do you even lift? Last year when UT renovated the locker and weight room, they auctioned off some of their old gear. I picked up a lifting platform from the weight room, but I guess they were confused, because they ended up giving me two of them! I only really needed one, the other has been propped up against the wall for awhile so I'm getting rid of it. What it is: Hardwood on pine and ply frame lifting platform from the UT weight room, circa early 2000's - 2016 or so, also has 2 wings with heavy rubber mat for your deadlifts and power cleans. Good chance your favorite player worked out on this under the watchful eye of Fat Dog. It is solid and HEAVY, dims are about 9.5' x 3.5' for the main platform. Use it for your squat rack, cut it up and make a killer cornhole set, or turn it into a piece of Texas memorabilia. You'll need a truck and three guys to move this thing - or if you actually lift, which you don't, maybe you can get it yourself. $150 HDMI ports: 0, but I'll install four 8K upscaling ports for an extra $1K.
  13. Selling my 1-year old Troy Bilt Mustang 42" Zero Turn mower. This is an amazing machine, I just decided to hire a service. You can buy them new @ Lowe's for $2300, I'm selling this mower + bagger attachment (bought for $450) + tow hitch + AgriFab tine dethatcher (bought for $100) for $1999 on craigslist, will sell to a surly buyer for $1900. I've babied this mower, it only has 33 hours on its clock. It got the break-in oil change at 10 hours, and the next one is due at 50 hours. 14. I've never seen a back able to maintain so much speed through his cuts.
  15. Hopefully this is the prelude to putting Plonsky out to pasture.
  16. Tapafail this was meant for basketball forum. Maybe admin can move?
  17. We had a version of this thread on the old site, here we go again, Nerd Guy Ballin thread re-inspired it. Who plays pickup ball? I'm definitely square in the old-man category now so try to find old-man games - can't roll with the youngsters now. Always looking for additional olds to bring, we play 2x/week on Wednesday and Sunday nights at a court built for old dudes (indoor, hardwood, high school size or smaller) close to downtown Austin. Skill ranges from "hackashaq" to ex-college players but it's good fun, good workout and people actually pass. MSG me if you're interested.
