  1. Just caught up on this thread. I think it’s a bit pre-mature with some of the transfer noise. If I had to pick the season starters at WR, it’s likely going to be Bond, Cook, Wingo, with Moore/Golden coming in with a heavy rotation. Bolden is like 5’8 and 165 pounds. I think we’ll see him in a Keilan role. I’m not all that worried about Moore transferring. Dude has it hella good with NiL here. His whole family moved here and lives in Austin and they were helped with setting up a food truck business. Based on all his interviews, the kid is beyond mature for his age and I don’t think he would bolt and leave the situation him and his family have here for more reps when he can wait another year and the playing time path will be there for him with Arch throwing him the ball. Hell, dude may play himself into starting role this year with the way his teammates rave about him and his work ethics. A dude that shows up 30 min before everyone else to practice doesn’t sound like a dude looking to transfer when you add in NiL. This DL is loaded. Lots of pussy talk about sec blah blah blah. Last time I watched us play an SEC team, I saw Ethan Burke abuse the SEC champs and Burke is only going to get better. Collins, Sorrell, Burke will forsure get drafted. Collins and Burke have a chance to be day 1 or 2 picks. Collins needs to be consistent on the field, he has all the athletic traits. Burke’s motor, measurables are what NFL scouts salivate about and dude has barely scratched the surface of his ability. He’s on the Charles O trajectory but further ahead. Sweat and Murphy being gone is definitely a downgrade but our edge position is stacked and our DT rotation is nothing sneeze at. Outside of UGA, Bama, I’m not sure I would trade our DTs for anyone else in the SEC and that includes aggy. Also sounds like Texas has a fat bag of cash ready for a DT portal candidate. And if we land one, this roster has no weaknesses. I would not trade our roster for any other school including Georgia.
  2. A couple of things I’ve picked up and pieced together listening to Gerry and Bobby. All of this is me speculating. Looks like Sark has known about Lacy from his stint at Bama and I believe knows his QB trainer quite well out in Bamaland. Lacy has previously mentioned that Sark started building that relationship with him early on while he was still in middle school. It seems to me that Lacy took a step back when Quinn decided to come back as it delayed his path to the field by another year. Coming off a playoff appearance and a who’s who list of recruits visiting, Sark probably didn’t like the idea that his QB commit was visiting other schools multiple times. Lacy is good but he’s not Arch or Quinn so that shit probably won’t fly too long. Couple of things Gerry hinted were that Saban is gone and DeBoer is bringing his own frosh QB from Washington so Lacy would need to sit at Bama just as long. What’s stopping Auburn or Kiffin from taking a transfer after he commits, he’s not guaranteed playing time there either and both coaches would take an experienced transfer QB in a second. I imagine he’s realizing the sales pitch from the other coaches doesn’t exactly clear his path any better with regards to playing time. I imagine Sark recruiting the Duncanville kid is probably a combination of putting pressure on Lacy to shut this shit down before summer visits or we’ll pass, to maintain a plan B, and/or perhaps a kid they think may be better in Russell. Regardless, Texas is in a position to cherry pick prospects right now.
  3. Texas has made 8 shots and has 11 turnovers. Holy shit.
  4. This team is hard to watch. Every time I’ve tuned in this year 9-10 times (most of the bigger games), we have sucked it up. Tennessee is making a lot of mistakes yet Texas finds a way to fuck it up worse. This team picked a terrible time to have a season scoring drought. Also, Tyrese Hunter has gotten progressively worse every year, I didn’t think that was possible.
  5. Had he come time Texas, the narrative would have been that Texas can’t develop 5 stars. Glad he is someone else’s bust.
  6. Based on the numerous videos Gerry does, seems like the WR priorities are Lockett, Moore, Johnson, and Ffrench. Everyone else seems to be plan B. We seem to be a in a good spot for Lockett and Johnson. Let’s see about the other two. I imagine those will be big time NIL recruitments till signing day like Ryan Wingo.
  7. Joining? We have a better roster than anyone outside UGA and they scared, listen to Kirby’s comments. What school right now has two 5 star #1 QBs? Texas has perhaps 4-5 NFL high right players on the OL right now not to mention a lot of skill talent. Defense may take a step back but the roster isn’t lacking for talent. Sark has always been an elite recruiter and with NIL to our advantage, we may be the most dangerous program in the future. Not being in the SEC and not playing the bag game hurt Texas more than anything else. Those two issues are resolved and we have a hungry coach that has learned from maybe the 2 best college coaches of all time. Our decade of suffering has come to an end my friends. Enjoy these next few years.
  8. Texas wants more length and size. Two things Rink lacks. We are not a top school because we are not recruiting him very hard.
  9. It doesn’t make sense to pay top dollar to high school recruits when we can get NFL prospects in the portal every year that are plug and play. Especially in Sark’s system where he requires a lot from the receivers.
  10. This is a NiL recruitment. The timing of Moore picking LSU out of the blue right as Simmons picked Texas wasn’t a coincidence. Moore likely visits Texas and it’s probably going to come down to which school will give him more money. Moore has a lot of close friends at Texas. I imagine they will let this play out and make a push in the fall for a flip. You normally do not want to be the first school a player commits to early on as they don’t last.
  11. Lol IBRX down 23%. To hell with this stonk
  12. Choice is a witch and he will get his money. With that said, Sark is heavily involved with skill talent recruitments. Most of those guys come to Texas to play for Sark and his offense. It’s refreshing to see Texas land elite skill talent again. Prior to Sark, it got to a point that we were losing skill talent to the likes of TCU and Baylor.
  13. Ethan is going to play in the pros, not sure if he's a first round talent yet. He has the frame, the length, the motor, and the quickness to be high round draft pick. Texas lists him at 257. If he can get to 270, the dude is going to be projected high. This was his first year starting and he made some big plays against some good teams. Hell I remember him abusing the Bama OL multiple times. What a great evaluation by the staff. Dude was heading to Michigan before the Texas offer so that should tell you what Harbaugh thought about him.
  14. Eat a dick Bama. Maybe we’ll take some of you’re DL too. Hook ‘em Bond!
  15. Bobby did mentioned that apparently Bo had told the recruits that he was staying at Texas. J cannot they will be too happy to be lied to as well. Robinson was 1 foot out the door his whole recruitment so I would be shocked if he didn’t end up at Florida or LSU. I do think January stays in the class. I’m sure he’s pissed but I also don’t think he’s going to follow a coach that lied to him.
  16. With a 12 team playoff and NiL, there is no reason to change school. Oregon and Washington are in the BIG 10. Have money, can recruit, and at least Seattle is not bumfuck Alabama. Oregon maybe. Also, no one with current success is taking that job. It is a guarantee they will be fired bc those red necks have gotten used to Saban winning at an unprecedented level in an era where they cheated their asses off. There is a reason Saban called it quits. He knows he can’t win at that level anymore given the advantages he had are gone. Even if the next coach wins 9-10 games, that fan base is so delusional with their expectations.
  17. I’ve got a conventional loan at 6.75% offer as well from the same bank. The house we are looking at will be renovated hence why I was entertaining the physicians loan. Use the cash to renovate instead of down payment. Loan officer is telling me that he’s expecting rates to drop end of the year. If we renovate the way we’d like, home value should go up 400-500k easily. He’s saying we should have no problem refinancing as we would have built in equity. Any feedback?
  18. For you mortgages guys, quick question. I’m getting offered 100% financing physicians loan with no pmi at 7.49%. Does that sound reasonable or should I shop around? Just want to avoid more applications and paperwork if it’s the normal rate for these types of loans.
  19. I’m guessing Malik Muhammad has passed him up at CB and so has Brooks.
  20. Well, there is a history of #1 5 star QBs that are generally pretty good in their 1st or 2nd year. Bryce Young, Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields, Caleb Williams, Tua Taguoviola to name a few of the more recent ones that helped their teams compete in the CFP. If you got that level of quarterback play, would you sit that player for a guy that is a very good QB but not a great one yet? We are all assuming here, but Arch isn't some 3 star QB coming out of high school. Let's let these boys compete. Fun to have a talented QB room. Hurts was benched for Tua. Rattler was benched for Williams. It's not uncommon for the back up to be better especially when they are 5 star recruits. Hell Justin Fields was backing up Jake Fromm and I think anyone thinks Fromm was the better QB there. Either way, this is all speculation but I really like Arch's skill set.
  21. From what every scout, reporter, and coach have said. It's not a stretch to say Arch has better footwork and mechanics and if fact it's true. Watch the few reps of Arch, how he escapes the pocket while maintaining his body, his sense of pressure and find me 1 clip of Quinin in his 2 years here that shows that. Quinn's elite trait is that he can make every throw in every arm angle with short and intermediate throws. His weaknesses are his footwork and his ability to go through progressions. His deep ball is also very questionable. Also keep in mind, Quinn has now been in college 3 years. Arch has had 3 NFL hall of famers coach him up his whole life. There is a reason Quinn is coming back and it's because he wouldn't even go in the top 5 QBs in this draft. He's talented but he has a lot of room to improve. I'm excited he's coming back but I also want what's best for Texas. I fully expect Quinn to start as Sark likes experienced QBs. I also think Texas will be a much better offense and lethal when Arch is running Sark's RPO here.
  22. When did I say I want the backup? I said I hope Sark starts the guy that gives us the best chance to win. Quinn has a good arm but he struggles a lot with other aspects of being a QB. He self sacks himself constantly, struggles with progressions and his foot work leaves more to be desired. I’ll be happy as hell if he comes back. Also, Quinn has 3 NFL WRs he’s throwing to, with NFL TE, and multiple NFL OL. Let’s not confuse being a badass with giving your play makers the ball and letting them work their magic in space. When Quinn takes over a game and wins it for us like Penix just did, let’s come back and talk again. With that said, Arch is a better fit for what we want to run. He’s ahead of Quinn with his mechanics, arm strength, pocket presence and release. He lacks game reps. Both fantastic quarterbacks, I just think 1 has better tools. If by the time spring practice ends, and he is better… then Arch should start. If not, Quinn should. That’s all I was saying.
  23. Well up it till money is the driving factor. Either way, I get it. We can always circle back to Oscar Giles
