  1. I listened to Darius Terrell on one of the podcasts and he implied that this recruitment isn’t over. He spoke to Rueben’s dad who said they will still be taking all of their official visits and that it’s early. I’m not sure if it was CTJ or someone else that said Rueben’s dad was running his recruitment that Rueben was getting sick of it and shut it down. Looks like dad doesn’t want it to be over just yet and is leaving to door pretty open to other school. Just my interpretation after listening to his podcast. As long as we win, he’ll stick it seems... if we don’t win, it’s going to be hard to hold on to him.
  2. I figure raw is used to describe someone like Jaqindon Jackson who has talent but has never been coached up to play the QB position and needs to be molded basically to play the position. Murphy is inexperienced in varsity football. He’s played and been coached QB his whole basically. Not that I think Mike Roach can evaluate but he said he was quite advanced with his mechanics and throws when he went to see him out in 7 on 7. Dude was consistently making NFL throws and putting the ball on the dot. It’s why all of the evaluators have him in 5 star territory without much game film. I thought I read here that Sarks system is very QB friendly in the sense that the QBs don’t have to think too much when making their progressions. I trust Sark to coach this kid up. Just need to get our O-line to be able to protect because Murphy’s feet look slow.
  3. Yeah, I wouldn’t consider Maalik a project exactly or raw. He’s been coached by some of the best QB coaches/trainers since he was in middle school. He’s got a cannon of a an arm and accuracy is one of his strengths. He won the most accurate QB award at one of the camps on the west coast. He simply needs more game reps. If he plays well in his limited season this spring, he’ll be a 5 star QB. Outside of Ewers, most QBs don’t have an arm like he does.
  4. The problem isn’t that he decommitted. No one will blame him for that. He immediately flipped to tOSU. That’s fine as well. Here’s where the issue lies. From my understanding from what was posted on various boards was that Sark had given him multiples chances to flip and was basically told he’s sticking with tOSU. Since then, we seem to be picking up the best skill players and got ourselves a 5 star QB that is very well liked by his peers. Sark has had a relationship with Murphy’s family for a while. I think taking Ewers commitment will probably make Sark look very bad in the eyes of a lot of west coast recruits, trainers, and coaches. If Ewers is indeed getting cold feet (who knows how true this is), our coaches will need to weigh if it’s worth the negative effects of it at this point. Another consideration would be if we have an average season due to injuries or a coaching transition, Ewers has already shown he will bail immediately. I’m interested to see how this plays out but either way, we’re going to be on the winning end with whomever we take at QB.
  5. It’s an interesting cycle for Texas DL. You have a stud in Bear that straight up got bought by UGA. Too bad Sark and company didn't have time to get into that recruitment. You then have the elite DL that has sooner parents and that will be hard to win. Then we have the kid whose smart and wants to play at Stanford. Outside of tbat, you have Ross from Northshore and that should be a recruitment we win but with the limited options, he’s probably going to get a lot of attention from all of the regional schools. I think the talent is great at the top but it’s not a deep year in my opinion.
  6. Yeah. When Bama is playing guys like Dylan Moses, hard to get playing time. I will gladly welcome Bama bench players to our team.
  7. Lol, Ewers probably got a taste of the cold weather he’s going to play in for 3 years. Plus, Sark is putting together a group of WRs and RBs in the 2022 and 2023 class that’s going to be best in the country. Too bad he’s going to have to watch Maalik throw TDs to all of these skill players while getting crazy pussy in ATX, living in a badass city, with badass weather while also having the advantages with NIL that Texas is about to lead the country with. Enjoy burning couches...
  8. Okie lite or Ohio state? If it’s osu and Ewers is showing interest in us, I’m conflicted. I’m sure it’s eating Ewers up seeing Sark clean up the best skill players in the state and our recruiting in general. I’m sure this is probably what he had envisioned when he first committed here. If he wants back in, what do you do here? I’m pretty damn high on Maalik and recruits seem to naturally gravitate towards him. He also has an elite arm but is inexperienced. In addition, Ewers has proven to bail if things aren’t going completely well. He’d be a guy to bail and flip elsewhere if we didn’t win big.
  9. If Harold Perkins some how commits here, it will answer the question if Texas is playing the game. I hope we are and I hope we do it dirtier than every school out there. Fuck these other schools.
  10. Between Bijan, Blue, and now Owens. I’m not sure if Texas has recruited the position any better in a 4 year span since I started following recruiting.
  11. I bought this tv as well. Best gaming tv. Best tv in general in my opinion.
  12. Hell fucking yeah Sark! Hook em!
  13. Murphy has an NFL arm. They’ve got to fix his footwork forsure. I’m excited to see how he’s going to look in our offense.
  14. Sorry, I have Cards years mixed up when he started. But my point was that we took his commitment when he had little film at QB. I remember he was playing WR prior to his commitment and people were having the same discussion. His commitment was purely based on projection based on his performance in camps and what his coaches were saying. I think right now, we’re in similar situation with Murphy... he had yet to play his junior year. Anyways, my buddy that coached against Card in high school said he’s one of the best QBs they have faced. He thinks he wins the job this summer and thinks he’s going to be a great QB here.
  15. I remember there being plenty of discussion here with people worrying about Card not having much playing time at QB and that he mostly played WR until that QB that went to tOSU graduated. I’m sure he had quite a few series as a back up and even a game or two as you stated. My point was that people have the same concerns about Murphy who also has limited tape until now at QB.
  16. So Kam Dewberry did a Q&A with a Texas fan affiliated Instagram account. Someone asked which recruits he wanted to play with in college. He said Kelvin Banks and Denver Harris. I found it interesting as we seem to lead for both of them based on recent reports.
  17. I just talked to one of the staff members on the Westlake football team that works with Klubnik. Said he’s not a fan of him. Said he doesn’t work hard in the weight room and practice and that he’d be a poor leader for whichever school signs him. Called him a “pretty boy” and said he wasn’t tough. The same guy was on a support staff at a big 12 school for a few years. I was surprised to hear that. Figured he’d be full of praise considering they just won the title. Figured I’d drop that in here.
  18. We need Campbell and Banks to drop. Talk about an elite offensive class. Is this what momentum and a coaching staff that can recruit feels like? Lastly, I want to say that Brandon Harris is going to kill it in his new role and the people freaking out about BC are going to be pleasantly be surprised when he does better here than his predecessor.
  19. Lol at Demas. I was convinced that kid was the next fucking Julio Jones after watching his high school tape. The moron took a bag of money listening to his trainer and so far has been a bust. That aggy offense is a cemetery for WRs.
  20. You should be excited about Murphy. Some guys are born with an arm that can effortlessly throw it 74 yards. Dude also has an absolute cannon and throws darts with a flick of his wrist. He has the raw tools to mold into a 1st round pick. We have a QB coach that has put plenty of QBs in the NFL and he also coached QBs in the NFL. I’d rather Sark work with a guy with an extremely high ceiling and see where it takes us. Especially considering we can take the gamble because we probably have a very high floor currently with Hudson Card... who by the way had no tape playing QB until his senior year.
  21. The Hayes edit had him as a 5 star but he changed it. Either way, he’s a 5 star talent. I’m not sure I’d pick another WR over him if I had to choose. He’s the type of kid with speed that goes to Bama and ends up a 1st round pick. We finally got one to choose Texas.
  22. Stewart and Blue are huge pieces to start this class off with. Elite players want to play with other elite players. Let’s get Devon Campbell and we’ll have the best RB, WR, and OL committed in the state.
  23. This years class on offense is night and day to last year. QB: 5 star, soon to be high 4 star Murphy RB: borderline 5 star, high 4 star Blue WR: 5 star Stewart, 4 star Winfield OL: leading for 5 star Campbell, trending for Banks, making ground with Dewberry. I think we’re going to see things speed up on offense for WR. There are 2-3 spots left and a lot of guys interested. If you want to play in this offense, you better make your mind up soon.
  24. Great evaluation by this staff.
  25. Let’s fucking go! So we just locked up a 5 star QB, a borderline 5 star RB, and top 20 WR. looks like a 5 star Evan Stewart being next would be nice
