  1. Odd stat - isn't Case McCoy the last Longhorn QB to beat both ATM and OU?
  2. ^ This. I still think this is the path. OU made the right decision (for them at least) to take out Spencer. Otherwise we win, and they have 4 turnovers not counting any ref crap. Right after our 1st TD I told my wife Rattler was good for 2-4 turnovers, and there would be 35 points in the 1st quarter alone. Had no idea 28 of them would be for us. Sad part is I also told her after Rattler was pulled for the freshman that if he came back in he would make even more mistakes trying too hard to keep his job. He did not take that benching well at all. Plus, we had the misfortune of having to face the freshman first. First *real* game action so no college film, and didn't play HS last year due to covid stuff so no real recent film on him at all. If we win out and face OU again we won't be facing an unknown.
  3. What was with Saban not calling a time out when there were 14 seconds on the clock? Instead he let the clock run down to 2 secs - walk-off field goal. Had he called time out he would've either forced aggie to run another play (can't remember what down it was), or they kick the FG, then have to kickoff, and bama either has a chance at a return or they have 9-10 secs left and one timeout. Seemed like a huge error to me - at least coming from Saban.
  4. Wait - wouldn't it be a whore-mobile-home?
  5. I think the ultimate would be us beating OU, both teams win out, and face off again in the Big-12 Championship (hopefully our last year in the 12). We beat them twice and move on. Big-12 would go apeshit with UT/OU in the championship, and even more when we both leave this year.
  6. ... from the deck.
  7. I'd be happy with 13-0. 3 safeties and a defensive fat man TD.
  8. We did that once for K-State. Time for #2.
  9. Has it occurred to anyone that All Gas No Brakes could also mean the engine gets flooded from all that gas, and we crash into a concrete barricade due to no brakes?
  10. What dumbass thought anything with the number 13 would be a good idea in Vegas? I bet if they changed the price to $12 they would actually double their beer revenue. Hell - make the hot dogs $7 and people will buy 3 thinking they'll hit 7s in their casino hotel later.
  11. I might have to bite the bullet and rewatch, but it seemed to me that Card counted to like 5 Mississippi before either getting sacked or throwing the ball. Could've been longer. That made me think he is in over his head and couldn't make a decision. I think he is accurate enough on the short throws (yards off on the long ones though) so even if he would do the 5 yard passes he would've been ok. Caveat - what is so hard about 3rd downs and throwing *past* the sticks or at least within a yard or 2? Granted I know there were things not seen on TV - like if anyone got open - but it still seemed like bad decisions. Also - what happened to using Bijan as a receiver? That seemed to work well on game 1.
  12. Here's an example
  13. Looked on TV like the stadium workers lowered them when people started rushing the field. Many places have the ones that allow you to fairly quickly bring them down so they don't get broken.
  14. or Jordan Shipley
  15. Isn't that Robert Plant?
  16. Good: Very much looking forward to Rice this year. Can't wait to see what they do to us this year... Better: Assuming Texas is going to be better this year and we are in the running for the BigXII championship, this could be the last year we have to play OU twice. Bad: This guy probably moves to the SEC network to broadcast our games. Funny: Lowell has 13 connections as a lead anchor for a network.
  17. or is it the sergeants major's times share?
  18. Try imagining Mike Leach on acid.
  19. It Puts the Lotion In the Basket
  20. I didn't get there the last few seasons (just moved back to TX last year) so I didn't get to see that. I guess that's not too bad. My first instinct was to compare the song being played over the speakers to what is happening with military funerals across the country. There are so many old vets dying now from WWII and Korea that there aren't enough buglers to play at their funerals - even if you use the honor guards from the American Legion. Now unless the funeral is somewhere like Arlington Cemetery the Honor Guard gets someone to hold the bugle with a speaker/mp3 player thing in the bell, and when they hit the button "Taps" plays. I hate that with a passion. I may actually borrow one of my local Legion's bugles and try to perfect Taps myself. Then I realized they play over the speakers at halftime already, so it isn't a bad compromise. I do hope UT is careful with this whole process though. Often times when a group of people protest and end up getting what they want (to whatever percentage they got) they may be quicker in the future to protest the latest thing that offends someone. Who knows - in the future anti-gun groups could protest Smokey the Cannon, PETA could protest Bevo, and women from Tennessee could get pissed at the LHB for playing "The Yellow Rose of Texas" - lyrics: "... But the Yellow Rose of Texas Beats the belles of Tennessee."
  21. I still go back and watch that game whenever I want a good laugh. What's scary is that game may rank in the top 10 of Longhorns single game player performances.
