https://www.sportingnews.com/us/ncaa-football/news/netflix-sign-stealer-connor-stalions-leaks-ncaa-interview/9647ff92f27c89f4a1013e88 'Sign Stealer' reveals how Connor Stalions obtained signals The documentary is a biopic of Stalions, who grew up as a Michigan fan and explores the origins of his methodology for stealing signs during football games – which ironically started when he was a staffer with Navy when the Midshipmen played Ohio State on Aug. 30, 2014. Nearly a decade later, Stalions would be at the center of a scandal during Michigan's national championship season for several allegations. Stalions purchased tickets for games at other Big Ten stadiums and admits to obtaining videos from those games. He does not admit to using it, however. Stalions also does not admit to being in person at the Central Michigan game against Michigan State on Sept. 21, 2023. Stalions offers his defense, too. "First of all, I've never advance scouted," Stalions said in the documentary. "Second, if this is about signals, I obtained signals the same way every other team does through watching TV copies and talking to other intel guys on other teams. What set me apart was the way I organized that information and processed it on game day." "Untold: Sign Stealer” operates in those gray areas and details an underground network for analysts that steal signals in college football. Stalions become engrossed in that network, and pushed past boundaries with an intricate sign-stealing system, which is detailed. "I think what Connor has is a unique football mind," Brown said. "I don't think it's just a football mind. I think it's a mind in general. There are a ton of people around the country that do similar things to what Connor did, but what makes Connor unique is that he is able to retain that and did have the organizational system that was unique that I don't know that other people would go to the lengths that he did. I don't think that they could retain the information that he did to make it as useful as he was able to make it."

https://cbsaustin.com/news/local/13-year-old-shot-and-killed-in-east-austin-shootout-between-two-other-minors AUSTIN, Texas — Austin police arrested two minors for their suspected involvement in a recent shooting that left a 13-year-old dead. The shooting happened on Thursday, August 22 at around 8:35 p.m. in the 6300 block of Thurgood Avenue. Police say the 13-year-old and another minor drove a stolen car to meet with another minor with the intention of robbing them, which led to a shootout between all three. The 13-year-old was shot and moved to the backseat of the suspect vehicle. APD says the minor who was with him started driving away from the scene and the force threw the 13-year-old from the backseat onto the pavement. The other juvenile involved fled the scene on foot but was eventually arrested and charged with capital murder. The other minor has also been arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

https://slatereport.com/news/texas-woman-found-engaging-in-bestiality-with-dog-after-husbands-arrest-for-exposing-himself-to-children/ Texas Woman Found Engaging in Bestiality with Dog After Husband’s Arrest for Exposing Himself to Children April 17, 2024 by Tom Henry Joely, 53, and William Mitchell Keen, 52, were arrested on March 27 after dozens of disturbing photos and videos were allegedly discovered on his phone. They allegedly included at least one video of Joely engaged in ‘multiple sex acts’ with the couple’s Great Dane – the world’s biggest dog breed. Police uncovered the video after confiscating her husband’s phone after he was charged with indecent exposure on March 13. The father-of-two, who goes by Mitchell, was caught masturbating while following children around a H-E-B supermarket in Spring, just outside Houston. Further investigation led to him also being charged with indecency with a child by exposure – and the discovery of the videos. The couple’s home was raided by heavily armed police and they were taken away in handcuffs while their two children, aged 18 and 10, and three dogs were rescued. ‘We don’t know what kind of environment they were exposed to on a regular basis. Maybe they weren’t exposed to anything. Maybe they were exposed to a lot,’ Montgomery County Constables Lieutenant Ken Washington said. Mitchell is a former US Navy sailor and Joely a family nurse at nearby Total Men’s Primary Care until she was fired on Monday. Joely was charged with bestiality and Mitchell with possessing fewer than 100 images of child pornography a third-degree felony. ‘Something comes up every now and again when you are investigating a crime. So when these detectives were going through this investigation, and they find the images and the video and the sexual acts – that’s extremely concerning. ‘But then you see an animal involved, which makes this odd.’ No need to shame their kink, bro. -
way to ruin the fun of this thread... Seriously, sorry to hear that. That is fucked up. Was OJ in town that weekend?

US/Canada border near Niagara Falls explosion

This guy is a hero. Can never be too sure. 4th woman must've been over weight. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/us-border-agent-accused-ordering-women-show-breasts-rcna168080 SYRACUSE, N.Y. — A U.S. border patrol agent in New York has been accused of ordering women to show him their breasts and claiming that it was part of his officials duties, authorities said. Border agent Shane Millan, 53, was arrested Thursday on charges that he deprived four women of their constitutional right to be free from unreasonable searches, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York said in a news release. According to prosecutors, Millan told three women to expose their bare chests to him over a web camera while he was processing their applications to enter the country. A fourth woman was ordered to show him her breasts with her bra on, prosecutors said. The alleged incidents took place in August 2023. Millan told the women that exposing their breasts was part of the process of being admitted into the United States, but it was actually for his own gratification, the prosecutors said. -

The OJ thread was locked so new one it is. This is all kinds of fucked up. I do not understand this. Dad viciously kills mom (allegedly). Kids: Hey let's make jewelry from his ashes so that we can fondly remember him. https://www.tmz.com/2024/08/26/oj-simpson-remains-became-cremation-jewelry/ Malcolm LaVergne -- O.J.'s longtime lawyer and now executor of his estate -- tells TMZ ... the Juice's remains have been transformed into cremation jewelry, which was divvied up among his 4 adult children. Simpson was cremated back in April, following his death, and we're told his kids signed off on having their father's ashes turned into an assortment of jewelry. As executor, Malcolm also had to provide written consent to the process. Malcolm didn't want to say exactly what kind of jewelry pieces the children got -- but, typically, it's necklaces or bracelets with miniature urns as pendants.

Since the bf was not (yet?) charged with kidnapping, I would guess that she choose to join him in the road trip. Maybe she really wanted to see Mt Hood. -
He had quite the conviction to not pay child support. Fake death, no more child support, and sell people's information to the darknet? hell yeah! https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cgrj9r5qpego A man has been sentenced to more than six years in prison after hacking into a state database to fake his death, and get out of paying child support. Jesse Kipf from Kentucky, in the US, was sentenced to 81 months for computer fraud and aggravated identity theft. The 39-year-old admitted to accessing the Hawaii Death Registry System in January last year and creating a “case” for his own death. Kipf then completed a State of Hawaii Death Certificate Worksheet, assigned himself as the medical certifier for the case and certified his death, using the digital signature of the doctor. It meant he was successfully registered as a deceased person in many government databases. Kipf admitted that he did it to avoid his outstanding child support obligations of more than $100,000. The hacker also accessed other death registry systems and companies in unrelated attacks that he carried out using the stolen log in details of real physicians and workers. He was found to be offering to sell access to the systems and selling stolen databases containing private information like Social Security Numbers to other cyber criminals on the darknet. The darknet is a portion of the internet only accessible through specialist software that hides a browser’s identity. There are many darknet marketplaces where cyber criminals sell stolen data or access to compromised IT systems. Kipf sold to international buyers, including individuals from Algeria, Russia and Ukraine, the court was reportedly told.

Is losing $50B in market value good? I guess selling cheap and counterfeit shit is not a long term growth business model. https://fortune.com/2024/08/26/temu-pdd-stock-plunges-government-scrutiny-amazon-rivals/ China fast-fashion retailer Temu soared like a rocket for two years—in just a few hours, its parent company lost more than $50 billion in market value The stock of PDD Holdings, parent company of the fast-growing Temu shopping app, sank more than 30% on Monday, losing more than $50 billion in market value, after the e-commerce giant posted disappointing revenue results and executives warned of rapid competition and nonbusiness challenges that may dampen growth and profits going forward. The Nasdaq-listed company, which is technically headquartered in Ireland but employs most of its workers in China, runs the Chinese online shopping giant Pinduoduo as well as Temu, the discount shopping app that has taken the U.S. and other Western markets by storm since it launched in 2022. But Temu has also faced intense scrutiny by governments, including that of the U.S., over issues ranging from its use of import trade loopholes, to the quality and origins of the products its sellers hawk through its online stores. And those pressures seem to be affecting the company’s outlook. PDD is still scaling incredibly quickly both in China and in other markets, with revenue growing 86% in the second quarter to more than $13.6 billion, but analysts had been expecting more than $14 billion in sales. On top of that revenue miss, PDD executives spooked investors by painting a cloudy picture of future quarters. “Looking ahead, revenue growth will inevitably face pressure due to intensified competition and external challenges,” Jun Liu, PDD’s financial chief, said in a press release. “Profitability will also likely … be impacted as we continue to invest resolutely.” Amazon officials in China recently told merchants there that the U.S. e-commerce giant would soon launch its own low-price storefront. Temu also competes with other e-commerce giants with deep China ties, including fast-fashion titan Shein and TikTok’s rapidly growing Shop marketplace. Though PDD Holdings does not break out Temu’s financial results, executives warned on a call with analysts of “significantly greater uncertainty” in the company’s global business unit, which houses Temu. “Our operations [have] also become increasingly affected by nonbusiness factors,” said co-CEO Lei Chen. “And meanwhile, the competition we face is growing stronger. Competition is here to stay and is expected to intensify in our industry. “These factors combined will inevitably cause fluctuations to our business,” Chen added. “As shown in this quarter’s results, high revenue growth is not sustainable, and a downward trend in profitability inevitable.”

Texas State Police Gear Up for Massive Expansion of Surveillance Tech

This is why I laugh when Apple and other companies market how secure their customer's data is. It's the apps, stupid. Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc all collect location and other data from customers' phones. Websites use cookies to track visitors' usage long after they leave the sites. Those apps and cookies are always running in the background collecting data. Those apps and websites sell that data to anyone who wants it because revenue. Texas, being the bastion of freedom, seems to be a interested buyer of the data, obviously to "identify and disrupt potential domestic terrorism and other mass casualty threats." LOL. -
Doesn't get more Dirty 6th than this. No charges for man in wheelchair after woman dies in botched robbery on Sixth Street https://www.kvue.com/article/news/local/homicide-east-sixth-street-downtown-austin-texas-police-department-information/269-ccf09e97-f1ed-4125-9633-e780742bf975 In an update, Austin police said Shannon Smith was found bleeding in an alley on East Sixth and Neches streets just after 1:30 a.m. She was taken to the hospital where she later died from her injuries. During their investigation, police learned Smith was armed with a knife and tried to rob a man in a wheelchair of his money and drugs. The man then hit Smith once with a metal rod he was holding, according to police. Austin police said the man was interviewed and released and that the case is still under investigation by the Travis County District Attorney's office. KVUE spoke with people who are in the area daily about their thoughts on the incident. "I tend to avoid this area when it's dark outside. I like to come around when it's light," said Lucas Paravano, who runs in the area. "I know that Sixth Street is here and some sketchy things can happen, so I just tend to avoid it. Sad to hear, but not surprising." "It's kind of crazy, considering I live about four blocks over," a woman named Madison said. "I hear about a lot of stuff going on in Austin, but to hear how close it was to me is really kind of a little scary."
