  1. One of my cousins was similar. He was always very smart but just not into academics. I think he was mostly into working on his old muscle car and smoking weed, to be honest. He stumble-bumbled around for a decade after high school, working complete shit jobs, including his final 4 or 5 years working at the city landfill in Fort Worth. Then finally one day when he was about 30, he decided he didn't want to be a burnout for the rest of his life, and he got himself into Texas A&M where he went straight through in 4 years and earned a software engineering degree. Ever since, he's worked his way up from coding, into senior management, at a private software company in Dallas. He made great money, got married, and actually just retired a couple of years ago, before age 60. That got longwinded but I really love late bloomer stories like that. They tend to make me happier than success stories about people you always expected to succeed regardless. Anyway, best of luck to your stepson.
  2. Yeah that's exactly the point. Those sheeptards on texags have invented the aggie fact that Tito is some huge Phil Knight style NIL donor for Texas. And at the same time they have also invented the fact that our NIL donors are all inheritants of generational wealth, unlike the self-made badasses that donate to A&M.
  3. I like holiday releases better than summer releases anyway, for some reason. I doubt I'll see every MCU movie and TV show leading up to these two, unlike for everything up to Endgame, but I'm certain I'll go see these.
  4. A critic at Cannes hated it. I'm guessing it's going to be my favorite Wes Anderson film yet.
  5. Or at least Message Board Geniuses. Which, if I had to guess, is incoming in 3...2...1...
  6. Wait, do we have nothing but boosters who inherited generational wealth, or is the self-made vodka king Tito Beveridge driving our NIL gravy train?
  7. IF 2020 taught you nothing else, the answer to this question is ALWAYS "yes."
  8. Good point, both A&M Consolidated and College Station High, are pretty good. They have better marching bands, too.
  9. He'll be driving one of the Haas. Can't do any worse.
  10. He doesn't report, he actively works to subvert UT's athletics programs. When he dies I will wet the fresh mud of his grave with my urine.

  12. Charlie Rich Charley Pride Charlie Daniels Charlie Robison Charly McClain
  13. Sure, mildly, compared to Phlegm who is very insane.
  14. It's gonna have to battle it out with my fluoride-induced neurological trauma. My money's on the fluoride.
  15. Speaking of vaccines, both of my teenagers got the flu vaccine several months ago, and both have been down for the past week or so with the flu. It spread like wildfire through their high school over the last couple of weeks. I, too, got the vaccine and so far have avoided getting the flu, but I'm steering well clear of those little germ factories.
  16. Their conspiracy theories are so strange. I mean, WHY would anyone ever try to subvert their program and stymie their chances of success? Even in a world where you believe something like this is likely or even possible, wouldn't such machinations be used against programs that are... actually successful??? Moves to end Alabama's football dynasty of the 2010s would make sense. Moves against Duke or UNC men's basketball back during their runs, or UConn women's basketball. That sort of thing. A&M softball doesn't really fit the profile. If there really is a concerted effort to keep the ags down, someone who is self aware would probably start wondering why? It's not because of the success of your programs, so it's more likely that a great number of people with no specific allegiance, just don't like you. And if there is such ubiquitous, institutionalized dislike of Texas A&M, then someone who is self aware would probably start wondering, "what do we do, that makes us so unlikeable?"
  17. Holy cow that was some move by Max. He's just so damn good and it's way more impressive watching him when he's not in the dominant car. He definitely got lucky with the VSC, and sort of unlucky with the actual safety car that tightened up the pack, but I don't think there was any way anyone was going to get around him at the end. A really impressive drive. Was glad to see Ferrari have a nice race. Agree with VAB, they've got to get something going during qualy. Anyway, on to my favorite race of the year, the Beautiful Procession.
  18. Banana and bubble gum, for sure. It's the best hefe in the States and as good as any I ever had in Germany-- which is all of them. And it's not even the best beer Live Oak makes.
