  1. It's all about Jesus and family and firing guys.
  2. Well, depends on whether you're in a major football league like the ACC. He's not going to leave a big12 gig to go just anywhere.
  3. We have always won the conference championship in football for our first and last year as members. Granted, the streak is only at 3 opportunities so far.
  4. I agree there are warning signs with 7ish win Steve, but there is also some evidence for competence, and there is some evidence he can change. Sometimes even coaches that get blown out by Rice in their second season and finish it .500 in conference end up making offensive adjustments and doing OK. Agree with waiting at least until we see what 2023 season looks like before pulling the plug. Not sure I think full four years can be given if we start to enter a death spiral though.
  5. Yeah, somehow we got it into our collective psyche that changing majors is OK, changing jobs is OK, transferring schools is OK, changing dating partners is OK, coaches' changing schools is OK, and that we are the land of the free except for young athletes. Those guys need to learn to stay in unhealthy situations and like it.
  6. Well, UTSA only lost to us by 3 touchdowns. And they could beat a real team any year now. Probably deserve to be ranked.
  7. You left out the minor issue of the preventable player death on the MD resume.
  8. Healthy-seeming college-aged males dropping dead from cardiac issues unrelated to just having used cocaine when not involved in athletic activity shouldn’t happen. It warrants an exhaustive post-mortem.
  9. Humiliation is always bad. If TCU looked a little liked they belonged, they could have sold the loss as a net positive: playing for it all. But they didn't look like they played for it all; they looked like they showed up where someone was supposed to play for it all. No one except UGA is the NC, but there are over 100 FBS teams that are not the butt of all manner of jokes today and for years to come. In next year's (and many more) run up to the playoff selection, people won't be mocking Texas for ***ing the bed when we got our chance in '22.
  10. CCGs don't count as bowl games, but there was one circa 2005 that was even worse/ better.
  11. Pay that man to have a work from home job analyzing opponents' tape.
  12. K-State
  13. Think of all the money they'd save if they finally acknowledged that its cheaper to be bad at football without under-the-table moneybags and hold-my-beer coaching contracts.
  14. Hard to believe this UGA team was 5-7 last year. Wait. NVM. Haha The ball bounced TCU’s way a few times, but not tonight.
  15. If his shoulder is good enough to go now, I wouldn't sweat the future that much. Sometimes lightning hits the same tree again, but worrying about that only ruins a good day.
  16. This is true. Good college teams sometimes play bad games. But I still expect an SEC champ loaded with talent to be able to handle the B12 runner-up in a year in which OU and UT are both too down to make the CCG.
  17. TCU is good and has scoreboard on us, but let’s not make their squad this year out as world beaters in our backyard. They beat us, but only by one touchdown. The last 10-12 years have seen us lose a lot of games. They aren’t even the conference champs. You need a bit of luck to win it all, and they’ve had some. But they’re not champs of anything unless/ until they beat a Georgia team that is actually a conference champ, a defending national champ, undefeated, loaded with talent, etc.
  18. My question applies to Brooks, btw.
  19. So hernia or sports hernia? Generally speaking, two distinct entities.
  20. You have to think, however, from the POV of someone previously willing to have believed in Jimbo. Sadly.
  21. The future is undiscovered country, I know. The more I see clips of Arch (and of others around him discussing him), the more convinced I am that he is the secret ingredient. I think he will be starting by 2024 at the latest. We will win some playoff games behind this guy.
  22. He'll go star-shopping and plug the gaps on paper with a mix of bread and poison. There is enough talent on the team to win more games next year than he did this year. Rinse and repeat until the generally upward sloping BMD frustration index crosses the downward sloping cost of change function.
  23. First of all, the title of the thread still has roaches at -13.5. I would certainly take UGA and those points. Seriously, though: Ohio State is the only opponent to keep Georgia within single digits all year. There certainly exists a chance that Georgia will have an off game (cough, Kentucky, cough), but I rather doubt it. Georgia has blasted some decent teams already. Ceteris paribus, I think Georgia handles the frogroaches easily and covers with points left over.
