  1. Book of Love - no bueno Phat Tuesday, def bueno.
  2. There is no way an objective person can look at the fallout of SB1 and other measures taken along the line and not agree that reducing the voting power of certain blocs was the intent. Most people's voter registration is tied to their DL#, and then some to the SSN. But people age and eventually stop driving. They surrender their DL, and can be issued a Election Identification Certificate. Now their DL# was unique to them, but instead of letting them keep that and issue it as an EIC, they issue a whole new EIC, which then makes the DL# invalid. Why? Why not just let them keep the same number? Makes no sense, unless you are hoping to interfere with their ability to vote. Fortunately the EIC isn't a widely used instrument. That's just an example, and their logic behind these moves is shallow. Same as the logic on making it illegal for County Election Administrators to send out unrequested VBM applications. Honestly, they should be the only ones sending them, requested or not. If the state wants to make this ridiculous rule that people have to apply to VBM every single year, then they should make that as painless as possible and at the same time keep things standardized, less confusing and more controlled instead of the parties and every jackleg candidate sending out apps of various look. But no, they don't. And they did it to squelch a lot of the votes in the big counties. And it will work, for the primaries. I'm just hoping it pisses enough of those who have been victimized by this shady shit to make sure they get registered to VBM by the general. Here's another thing. When you apply to VBM there's a little area where you choose which elections you want to vote in. You choose the wrong one, and you're not voting in the general. Just more smoke and mirrors.
  3. I wondered the same thing and wrote it off to sticking in some illness as an excuse for not looking hot.
  4. Something to this. But initially he probably paid players NOT to play at other institutions. So he can specifically say he didn't pay them to play for 'Bama.
  5. I predict an increase in the number of mixer BBQs for athletes and A&M athletes.
  6. So while Abbott is breaking the back of our Texas Guard on this border photo op, New Mexico is actually using their Guard in an inventive and creative way to help their state. What color state is New Mexico again? Oh, yeah....blue. Fuck Abbott. New Mexico asks National Guard to work as substitute teachers to keep classrooms open https://www.npr.org/2022/02/02/1077056059/new-mexico-national-guard-substitute-teachers
  7. I went looking for the National Border Patrol Council. Found what I expected. https://bpunion.org/ Gotta wonder what dark money this group shills for.
  8. I would think that if they can tear down his empire and get jail time for his kids it would drive him further into the unfiltered frenzy, fully unraveled. It's quite obvious that no one in the GOP is going to rein this moron in, and they have all bit off on democracy is dead already, and are setting themselves up in this new authoritarian system they are all in on now. And that is where we will continue to slip towards unless we at least try to hold these people accountable. Otherwise, we might as well roll over now. Trump controls his family easy enough, but there are those who control Trump and he listens to, like Hannity, Flynn, Manafort, Stone, etc. Trump is a psychopath narcissist who only worries about his image, and that image is based on his intelligence, which is supported by his financial empire. Your pull the underpinnings out from under that empire, you tear him down into a whiny bully with little hands. Doing that gives those who oppose him hope for the future. Otherwise, why continue? Unfortunately we have had the disappointment of the Mueller probe to set the table for us, expectation wise. I still think there will be more come out on that concerning how it was throttled by the Trump administration. Regardless, it left a bad taste in our collective mouths. Still we must remember that Mueller would have gone a lot different if McConnell and his band of goons wasn't leading the impeachment and denying all the credible witnesses, same as in the SC hearings.
  9. Speaking of crooked PACs, have all the cases against the NRA and the russian ties been cleared up yet? Or were they just put on hold until Trump's DOJ got replaced by Biden's? Funny how Paxton, Patrick and Abbott think Trump is going to write big checks for them. Idiots. Trump won't give them funds, it'll be the opposite. He'll hold onto that shit as long as he can, claiming he's running in 24, then at the end will bail.
  10. We'll know for sure when the CRT cases start being heard. This group is likely to hand down another Dred Scott type decision.
  11. he is wearing a mask. I saw one of these the other day in my little hometown donut shop. Guy was lightweight, only had one revolver with like a 10 inch barrel. The couple who run it are Vietnamese. I asked how much shit they got, she said not much. I guess having the only donut shop in town carries some clout, lol.
  12. Driver's license will be about tree fiddy. annually.
  13. My question is why can't the so called RINOs he is attacking like Collins and McConnell just give ground a bit and join in to pass some of this stuff the Dems are doing. I mean actually work towards bipartisanship and just politically kill off the Trump movement? Seems a move like that would send them into some death spiral and they'd increasingly show their ass enough that no one in their right mind would support them after a bit. Yeah, the Red team loses some ground. But they've got the SC sewed up for a while. Cut their losses, kill off the Trump wing and move on with a new strategy. But I get it, they have been quietly pushed towards this by the elite, the dominionists and white supremacists. So too late to give ground and retrench, apparently.
  14. I was thinking he was looking at her and wistfully remembering all the strange he'd had over his acting career.
  15. Somebody stole the 1.
  16. The significance of Gonzales Co is they represent the backbone of the Trump movement, the small rural vote that creeps up into the suburbs. Team Red is making a strong play to lock those counties down. Always the same outfit. You couldn't even fill out a bingo card with potential trump outfits. Blue suit, black suit, red tie, blue tie. White polo, blue windbreaker. He was speaking to his people that he loved, not the handful of Antifa and BLM that had infiltrated this group of solid, peaceful patriots and incited them to insurrection. Trump isn't running again. He's out here for two reasons: a) raise money for his legal defenses and b) try to make it seem that if any of those cases result in him being charged, he could hold the government hostage by the threat of all his Trumpkins rising up in armed protest, protesting a great man like Trump being vilified for political purposes. In other word, it's defense move two to protect his empire and above all, reputation.
  17. I've enjoyed this for the most part. But the one thing this (and most) western serials do is make me truly appreciate Lonesome Dove. Every time I see Thomas, I think Deets. I was just hoping the series would be a bit more factual and realistic. That whole chase/fight thing with the bandits was neverending. There were 6 to start with and they took one out before the thing ever started. Some of those guys must have been zombies, because it sure seems they got killed more than once. Sometimes it seemed there were 20 horses and riders and there were only maybe 10 total should have been there. It could be worse, it could be on the disappointment level of that garbage Lone Star with Quaid, or True Women (where they fought San Jacinto at night).
  18. Not sure how long it's been back, but The Detectorists is back, Season 3.
  19. I'm glad that my happiness in this world isn't influenced by my right to own guns that can take other lives. Unfortunately much of the sadness I have in this world is due to many people who do value gun ownership over basic human rights of others.
  20. Burning books isn't enough. You have to cut through all the media, hence CRT bans everywhere.
  21. And now we have Lowell Galindo. FML. Having grown up with Wally Pryor on the PA and Ron Franklin doing play by play, add in Cosell, Meredith and Gifford, and then Madden coming along, it really makes me wonder where it went off the tracks. Those guys were awesome, made the games more personal, and now all we have is garble, garble dumb crap. Sigh. Has the game changed? The fans? Or the networks follow too much of a profile and we have to just accept them? We'll miss you Mr Franklin. Thanks for the memories.
  22. You are right about the Bright part, thinking back. But I still contend Jones treated Landry shabbily, maybe by design, maybe not. It wasn't all Bright. It could have been handled significantly better.
  23. It wasn't the firing of Landry, but how it was handled. A lot of fans had grown accustomed to the class of Landry, and Jones was the polar opposite. Those first SBs happened because he listened to JJ and didn't interfere. And the Walker trade was big. If there was ever a cake to be baked it was the team Switzer stepped into. Like Pescado and Kimball said, it's always been about Jones' ego.
