  1. Seeing Niang be the best player on the Hawks makes me sad. Dude was great in Cleveland this past year, he could be a 6th man of the year candidate on a good team if he gets consistent play time. Trae just doesn't look good, certainly not a number 1 guy on a contender type. He can create some good shots for others, but he takes a lot of bad shots too. Not sure I would trust him to be smart and disciplined on a good team and defer to other guys in crunch time. Seems like a perfect trade target for the Kings, but they already have Lavine. Maybe Charlotte or Washington will make a play for him this off-season.
  2. Winning 1 game is still having to make it. It would also incentivize making the 6 or higher seed as you only have 1 chance to make it in from 7-10. I suggest having all 4 games on the same night to make it more entertaining, since half of these games aren't even close. It would be more like March Madness, which the NBA desperately needs. Part of the success of March Madness is the fact that if one game sucks, there are others that may be interesting. And all the games should be on national TV, even if it's ESPN2 for some games. They shoot themselves in the foot with this 1 televised game at a time bullshit they do all season.
  3. It's worse than that. Publicly announced a 30% reduction in San Ramon, and internally I know it's at least a 25% reduction in Houston. IT and other services are going to get hammered because they are planning to off shore a total of 9500 jobs to ENGINE in India. Stuff like legal, finance, tax, accounting, auditors, reservoir engineers and lots of IT services are already stood up over there. The total reduction is much more than 20% because they are adding a few thousand new Indian employees to the total, which hides some of the losses.
  4. And Trae Young. They didn't need a ball handler because they already had Fox, who was super impressive and on his way to becoming an all-NBA point guard! Traded away Haliburton too... Lol
  5. I like the idea of the play-in, but it needs to be 7-10 and 8-9, highest seed goes on to play #2, lowest vs #1 and get the first round going sooner. We don't need an 8 vs 9/10 game. The NBA playoffs take forever, and the time off between games is completely unnecessary. 1-2 days max is all it should be,
  6. So how long until someone in the administration broaches the idea of deporting judges to El Salvador? 1 week?
  7. Who could have predicted that getting Zach Lavine at 45 million a year was a bad move and won't make them a contender?
  8. Yeah, but, what if instead we put tariffs on England and made them pay us to sell us their tea??
  9. Going through the Warriors > Lakers > Nuggets on the way to the Finals will be epic.
  10. Ja with a pass off the glass to himself and the putback was nice. Grizzlies aren't quite dead yet, still a lot of game left.
  11. The Spurs own a bunch of their picks, so it's not really all that attractive to tank. Unless they want to send him to the Spurs for their picks back, which has become a bit of a theme with some teams lately in trade speculations.
  12. Well, the estimates are already in the 6-7 billion range for a new Vegas team, and Cuban just sold the Mavs for a value of 4-4.5 billion. Unless you want to argue that Cuban undervalued his team, and sold at a 33% discount, I don't think the Dallas NBA team is going to fetch as much as Vegas. Plus you would be dealing with the loss of the "Mavericks" team as it moves to another city, and potentially losing the team history/Dirks legacy/trophy with it.
  13. OKC was the team that lobbied for the "BEST STATS EVAR!!!" MVP when Russ won it for stat padding like a motherfucker on a 7 seed. So I think it's only fitting that their guy SGA loses it to a guy who isn't stat padding and had a much more impressive season that anything Russ has done. Jokic is the best player in the league, and has been for about 5 years now, and should have beaten Embiid that one year, but voters are dumb. He needs this one, since Luka on the Lakers is gonna start getting all that West Coast love and he's probably going to net a few thanks to all their media hype.
  14. I don't think the Mavs will move to Vegas. If you're an NBA owner, would you want to sell a new expansion team in Vegas for 6-7 billion split 30 ways, or one in Dallas for 4-5 billion? The Adelsons bought that team and already set the price for it. Moving it doesn't net new money for the league, unless they include a relocation fee of 2 billion, but I doubt that happens. The league will find some other billionaires to buy the expansion teams in Vegas and Seattle at a price of 6-8 billion each.
  15. I think that's paying too much for KD. Booker, sure I would do that, but KD at this point is old, unreliable and a malcontent that can sour a locker room if he gets sad. He ain't worth the risk for the price the Suns want.
  16. Why? Why would you reward someone for doing something so stupid? Fans shouldn't interfere with the game, that shouldn't be a debate. That dude should be banned from future games for the season.
  17. He has a similar DGAF attitude about things, but he's still a bear you don't wanna poke. I don't know if TD would have ever responded like this.
  18. More love for the Rockets. Get pumped for the playoffs!
  19. I don't know wtf the Lakers were doing here, but this is some All-star level dumb bullshit lol... https://x.com/iAnonPatriot/status/1910664178060177453
  20. We aren't going to win this game, so why not peg Tim Anderson with that 96 mph fastball?
  21. Lol, blaming Cuban for this trade is so weak and stupid. I know the wound is still fresh, but come on, he never would have even shopped Luka. And no owner would expect the buyer of a new team to come in and trade the teams best player for a mediocre return. Could you imagine if the new Celtics owner sent Tatum to the Clippers for Kawhi? Nobody in their right mind would do that, but that's similar to what happened here. I think this was a weird cost cutting measure by the new owners to avoid paying Luka a supermax, to reduce roster costs, avoid luxury tax and squeeze every penny possible out of this franchise. They are operating the team like a private equity firm that adopted the Pittsburgh Pirates management method, not an NBA fan or someone who cares about winning. Whether or not it has something to do with influencing Texas politics on gambling is still TBD, but it might be a part of the decision process. Just 3 days after this trade several high level Texas politicians, including Governor Abbott advocated publicly for legalization of gambling in Texas. I don't know if that conspiracy is true, but the timing sure is an interesting coincidence.
  22. It is fools gold, as it often is this time of the season when half the league plays G league level players. They lost to several playoff teams when they were full strength. Their only impressive win during that stretch was against the Cavs during their 4 game skid when Mitchell looked drunk or concussed. NYK didn't have brunson, Memphis didn't have Ja, etc... lots of guys have been shut down towards the end of the season. They aren't that good, it's just box score analysts making hype out of nothing impressive on the court. Another thing is they were 4-9 in their previous 13 games before this "run".
