  1. The ump's zone is about 2 inches higher than what the TV is showing
  2. Yeah, they are a .500 team at best this year. Bieber is supposed to come back later in the year, but he's not gonna save this team. Don't know if they will be interested in blowing it up, since Kwan and Jram are probably the only guys they could sell for a king's ransom. Clase has been rumored for trades this season, and it might just happen, but he really hasn't been that great since the end of last season. He gave up a couple games against Detroit in the playoffs, and hasn't been the same since. They have a few more relievers that are solid, but probably won't fetch too much to help reshape the team. Cleveland and Houston both churn out pitchers through their systems very well, and so the Guardians tend to flip 1 or 2 every deadline for prospects. Kwan on the Astros would be incredible if they could make it happen. He's a lefty, solid right fielder, low bat speed but gets a ton of contact, and he has 2.5 years of arbitration left. It would take a ton of assets for Cleveland to move him though, but he would be an ideal fit for this team.
  3. Doug Fister was traded for Charlie Furbush. They could be your setup men in the pen. Depending on your pronunciation, you could add add Albert Poo-holes or Kosuke Fukudome. Jack Glasscock would be a good one too.
  4. My only issue with the Cam trade is that he cost a mid 1st to draft, and they got two 2nds for him. Selling at a loss in this transaction. But maybe he wasn't all that attractive around the league and that was the best they could do. I just figured a team like NOLA or Sac would be willing to pay more for him.
  5. Ohtani threw 31 pitches to get through 2 innings, that guy threw 32 to get through 1. Let's hope they bring him out again against the bottom the lineup in the 4th
  6. Seriously. Cam is just a guy right now. He has potential, but he's not gonna achieve anything here with so many people in front of him. He needs to go elsewhere to grow, and the team could use future picks for him.
  7. First 7 team trade in NBA history:
  8. It's a bit presumptuous to assume that Lebron will be on the Lakers at the beginning of the season.
  9. I'm more interested in what we could do with a future unprotected 1st from NOLA for Cam. Jose is a good defender and fun to watch, but he would just be a bench guy on this team.
  10. Yikes.... I thought Doc Rivers might end up there, but I think Mike Brown might be a worse option. Way to go Knicks!
  11. I wonder what the Pelicans would give to trade Jose Alvarado for Cam. Given some of their past trades, Houston might be able to get an unprotected 2028 pick from them for it.
  12. Lobs to Clint with Harden/CP3 were some of the most exciting plays the team did during the late 2010s. I look forward to seeing more of that. This team is very deep now, and if they can flip Cam for a decent ball handler, they will be in great shape for the regular season and playoffs.
  13. It helps that Hader isn't entering tie games as much, and giving up a solo shot for the other team to walk off.
  14. I didn't realize it was this bad, but the Trump administration is using the Emergency Docket more than any administration in history, and coincidentally finding that the court agrees with them much more often via this shadow docket than in fully heard cases.
  15. And the Nuggets already have a new coach in place, so good for them! Hey New York, how's that coach search coming along?
  16. Just before Bobby Bonilla day ends in 2035, we get to begin a new tradition of Ohtani day in 2034, which will feature the Dodgers paying him 68m each year for 10 years. So we all have that to look forward to. It could start earlier than that if he chooses to retire before 2034, since he will be 39 at that point.
  17. NBA off-season is the best off-season.
  18. I have no clue what the Jazz are doing. Why would they buyout Jordan Clarkson? He had one year and $14.2 million left on his contract, that's a good trade chip at the deadline. I understand that the buyout money counts towards next year's cap, but it seems like a waste of their resources here. Nobody would give them a few 2nds and an expiring deal for him at the very least? Don't know what Ainge is doing there, seems like a lot of misplays on his part.
  19. Would have been awesome if Harden acted like he got punched in the face and flopped to the floor
  20. If he went to the Cavs and took Tristan Thompsons spot, that would be alright. And yes, the Cavs could use a veteran leader like him in the locker room, assuming it's a minimum deal. They have a great team, just need to grow a little. Next year is the year!
  21. Cam is cheap, he can easily be sent to another team for a future first or two. They will find some value for him.
  22. I think Holliday should be a minimum guy. If he can get 5m from someone else, farewell. I would much rather see them spend on a better player than worth about 11-14m a year rather than keeping Holliday. Hopefully he's the last to sign after a couple more deals to fill out the bench. KD is gonna thrive in this environment, he's never had the 2-10 support for a full season like this team will offer him.
