Also do's and don'ts, how much cash to bring for tips, etc.  (for 4 days)

If you are up for a drive Playa Conchal is my favorite beach in that area. I think it’s a little less than an hour away though. As the others said just use an ATM and get colones for whatever cash you need.

Got to MA Wed.  Staying at Tulemar for the first time.  I now understand why people love this place so much.  Unfortunately my special lady friend had a family emergency so I  dropped her att the muni this morning and shes headed back to Dallas. I've got one more night here in MA and then over to Aranal before going home on Monday

Agua Azul is closed so we had some apps at El Avion and then dinner at Le Papillioni.  I am probably going to drive over to Fuego for something to do now that Im solo.  Went fishing yesterday and got skunked.  Water is really bad from the rain.  Win some lose some.

As far as bringing a few bottles of bourbon to CR, is that ok?

I think it’s 3 liters per person.

the duty free at SJO has a really good selection of tequila/rum/vodka so I am sure they have good bourbons too. It’s cheap and a lot easier than sticking a bunch of bottles in your checked luggage so you might just do that. We load up there every time we go through because it’s about 1/2 the price of buying anywhere else.

Sucks about the fishing. Quepoa is the sister restaurant to Agua Azul and has very similar food so you might try that if it’s open. I also can’t remember if you’ve been to Mangata but it’s our favorite restaurant in MA right now.

BTW i just talked to my captain he said the fishing has been really slow. Just some tuna and not many. It was great when we left 3 weeks ago but has been slowing down ever since we left.

Oh and FYI they are working on the crocadile bridge.  Closing alt lanes.  Luckily on the way down they were letting southbound traffic through but by the looks of it they had the north bound traffic stopped for a long time.  People were out of their cars just sitting around.  It must have been backed up for 2 miles at least
