Need a plaque/ memento for retirement

Recommended Posts

Have a friend who is retiring and we want to get them a plaque/ award/ memento with our workgroup's logo.  In the past I'd just go to Things Remembered in the mall or something easy, but we want this to be a bit more custom and unique.  I  have a 3 week turnaround and probably want it in the $200-$250 range.

Suggestions?

Give him $250. No one gives a fuck about retirement awards.

This.  Do you think he is going to proudly hang it in his living room or something?  Take the $250 and get him something relevant to his non-work interests.

My grandfather had his "41 Years of Service" retirement award from Southern Pacific Railroad hanging on the hall wall. However, he liked to say he only kept it as a reminder of that $600,000 check he got from SPRR as part of a settlement for age discrimination when on one day, they laid off all of the highest paid engineers that also happened to over 55.

Alright...both of you preachy mofos can STFU. Christ on a cracker, everyone’s a critic.   Just answer the motherfucking question.

There will be a very nice gift for him.  Also a gift for his Wife, whom almost all of us know...not in a SAMom kind of way.

and yes, the plaque would be a memento of our team that will absolutely mean something to him. It is not the focal point of what we are giving him, just a reminder of what he built, and the people whose careers were influenced significantly by the man.
