They'll ignore the  Scientology stuff until he starts losing, then it will blow up as reason to get rid of him.  When Chizik hit the skids, people were arguing over whether his program was Christian or not.

It's not as Christian as Clemson's from what I hear.

I have to go against conventional wisdom here and say I don't understand this hire. Gus is a fine coach, but he has demonstrated he cannot develop talent, is so-so as a recruiter, and cannot really run a program. A job like UCF is where you should hire an up-and-comer because you need some excitement to keep the thing moving forward. Sustained mediocrity is not a good look for a midmajor like this.
