Texas Football: Horns’ QB situation appeals to 5-Star WR Andrew Marsh
by Andrew Miller4d ago
One of the early names to watch in the 2025 Texas football recruiting class this spring is the elite five-star Fulshear (TX) Katy Jordan wide receiver, Andrew Marsh. Texas and new wide receivers coach Chris Jackson are prioritizing Marsh among the top in-state wideout recruits in the 2025 class this spring.

And it looks like Marsh knows how much of a priority he is this spring for Jackson, head coach Steve Sarkisian, and the Longhorns in the 2025 class. Texas is doing a nice job of making sure that Marsh is feeling the love from the coaches early in his recruitment this offseason.

Jackson has one of the best relationships he’s formed in the last few months since he was hired as the WR coach earlier this offseason with Marsh. He’s made it to campus for a couple of unofficial visits this offseason, which were for the two Junior Days (Jan. 21 and March 25). Marsh has visited Texas more than any other school in 2023.

The most recent Junior Day of the offseason for the Longhorns (March 25) was the first time that Marsh got to meet Jackson in person. It sounds like Jackson and Marsh connected well. Jackson pitched Marsh on the ability to thrive in this offense with all the quarterback talent that Sark and the Longhorns have in the mix for the foreseeable future. Texas can also boast the NFL track record that Jackson brings to the table to sell Marsh in this recruitment.

Texas football standing out in multiple ways early on for 5-Star 2025 WR Andrew Marsh

Cole Patterson of Orangebloods reported on May 10 (subscriber content) that Marsh has a “really good” conversation every time he gets to talk to Jackson. It’s good to hear that Marsh mentioned Jackson is “really personable and easy to talk to” for him.

The talent present in the quarterback room will also continue to be a point that the Longhorns can hit on in this recruitment.

“They let me know that I’m wanted there. It’s close to home. It’s not far. (The quarterback situation) definitely draws me.”
Texas establishing itself as one of the top schools for Marsh early in his recruitment is a big reason why he’s made it to campus a couple of times already this offseason. As long as Jackson and the Longhorns can keep pressing the right buttons in this recruitment and keep making Marsh feel like a top priority in the 2025 class, I like their positioning among his top schools.

It’s important to know what are some of the other top factors in Marsh’s decision moving forward. He mentioned in this piece from Patterson of Orangebloods that the ability to make an “early impact” and get the opportunity for key live-game reps as a true freshman will be huge factors for Marsh.

Marsh currently ranks as one of the top 10 wide receiver recruits in the nation in the 2025 class from essentially all of the major recruiting services. He also is tabbed as one of the top 40 recruits in the nation in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and the On3 Industry Ranking.

Shitty news aggregator website that is just sourcing from OB, and he's not really a 5-Star...

but Marsh has made it in for a bunch of unofficial visits and seems to be interested in us.

Anybody have ON3's update on Devin Sanchez? The url doesn't seem promising. He's a 5-Star CB out of North Shore with great size.
