Interesting to see non-local commercials in the waning days of LHN.

Glad to see a better start tonight -- ponies just can't match Texas athleticism...

Into the regional semifinals yet again

85 minutes.  That didn't take long.  So we're hosting again next weekend?  Tenn or ASU?

18 straight sweet 16s, damn

going to Stanford unless they get upset

My bad, completely misread that shitty ass, hard-to-read bracket.  For some reason  thought we wouldn't face #1 until the Final Four, even on our side.

We'll host next weekend if Stanford were to lose this weekend.

Stanford-UH is at 8pm

Tennessee-Western Kentucky is at 5pm (Texas plays winner)

Go Coogs!! Give us that regional in Gregory Gym!

Tenn up 2-0. Time to start scouting them for next week

Tennessee swept

Fields and USC up 1-0 on 1 seed Pitt

We're tied in Palo Alto! 2 sets a piece!
If Houston pulls this off and allows Texas to host the regional I promise to never refer to them as Cougar High again

Welp, off to Stanford. Maybe we can repay them the favor of beating them on their home floor like they did to us earlier this year

ASU has a sweep over Tree, so maybe they can do us a favor in their S16 matchup

Reilly Heinrich is in the portal as a grad transfer.  Devin is not, yet.

Cursty (the new recruiting coordinator) is following a couple of players:

Mackenzie Morris (KSU libero)
Maddy Bilinovic (PSU libero/DS)

Devin should know she's in line to take over at Opposite.  If she leaves, it shouldn't be for lack of expected future playing time, right?

If she leaves, it’s bc Elliot found an OPP in the portal or bc she’s tired of him running Jenna out there to get blocked a million times and not yank her

But yes she’d be in line to start at OPP, her regular position. And Byrd would push Jenna at OH

Fair point.  I'm sure while we were all screaming to bench Wenaas, Devin was giving side-eye to whichever coach happened to look her way.

Huge day today!

If you look at Tenn's starters:
They have a 5'11 OH (Lovett) that should be a juicy target for Madi and especially Jenna.
Fingall is a 6'1 RS who is by far their best player.
5'11 RS-Fr Setter (Kerr)
Their other OH is grad transfer 6'0 Moore, who we faced 3 times last year when she was at Ohio State last years.  We had her number big time (21 kills and 16 errors)
Their MBs are 6'3 Granberry and then 6'5 Chase, 6'6 Beeker, 6'6 Pawlik.  Granberry is their O'Neal, and Chase/Beeker/Pawlik all spend time at the MB2 position.

Their libero has 400 digs on the season (almost 4/set).  They have 3 players with 30+ aces. 2.31 blocks per set as a team.

Just looking at their schedule and 26-4 record:

Lost in 5 to Wisconsin in Madison.  That was their most challenging non-conf match
In the SEC, they went 15-3. Split with Kentucky, lost to Arkansas at home, beat the Gators and got swept by South Carolina on the road.

Texas is probably slightly more tested - Stanford, WSU, Minnesota, Ohio State + BYU twice, KU twice, Baylor twice, UH twice.

In terms of being in the regional semifinals, just about everyone has been here except for Swindle and Barnes. The team leaders need to keep Swindle calm and focused.

3-1 Texas.  Serve tough, avoid hitting errors (JENNA!), let Madi cook early.  As soon as they start to focus on Madi, let Jenna against their 5'11 OH.  Texas is bigger and more physical and experienced.
