No chance I'm watching Colin fucking Cowherd. Get that shit outta here

Haven’t watched Klatt’s segment with Cowherd but I would assume he said mostly the same as on his own podcast (9:25 on the vid below)…that Arch is in his own head and rushing everything.

Flood needs to put a foot up these OL asses or change schemes or find different guys.

The running game being this horrible is what is really killing the offense.

If the WRs are useless need to run 2TE and start overpowering these weak ass teams and work on deep balls between smashmouth football.

If we are going to have an excellent defense and Arch be stinky we need a way to win with the running game.

Are you ever not dumb? The run game is fine. The problem is that we have a QB who legit can't throw a ball to a wide open dude 8 yards in front of him.

I am willing to bet he is over 70% completion percentage when targeting the white dudes. I know it's not ideal but for the sake of the team..........

Ok maybe my eyes are lying and we can't convert short 3rd and 4th downs or score in the red zone because Arch can't throw.

Arch is out leading rusher.  He can’t pass but i wouldn’t say our running game is elite

Wow what a surprise. When your QB can't complete a pass and you never sustain drives you get less chances to run the ball for more yards.

Agree, at some point, Sark and offensive staff have to decide what they can and can't execute and buld from there instead of trying to force a scheme.

Were we trailing sjsu and utep?  Arch is dogshit but he ain’t the only one. This offense lacks explosive players.  Sark has to own some of this

They’ll look more explosive when/if the QB can actually put the ball in their hands.

The first play of the season might have gone 40+ yards if Arch doesn’t imbed the ball in the turf about five feet in front of a wide ass open Moore.

It's mainly the QB. Everything else flows from there.

Arch has been bad. Good news, so has the run blocking.

Seriously bro, where was all this energy last year when we couldn't run the football?

The run game is absolutely not fine, it’s horrible in situational football and thus horrible in general regardless of what the stats show. Runs for 2 yards, 12 yards and -2 yards shows up as 4 YPA but still puts the offense in multiple 2nd and 3rd longs.

We couldn’t run against good teams last year I agree it’s a problem.
This year we can’t even run against cup cupcakes

This, you don't have an effective game unless you can get the yards when you need to get them.

Your run game isn't effective if a defense is willing to play a light or even a neutral box and you aren't pounding the ball right at them until they adjust.

Yes, it helps if your quarterback can make throws, but I will say it again, find what you can do and build from them and if that means Arch becomes early Vince so bit it.

Run game is not the problem. The line is largely fine. Tre and CJ being out are not helping, and all 4 backs aren’t being initially hit by defensive linemen. They’re being hit by backers and crashing safeties because our QB had an offseason lobotomy and cannot hit anything more than a 5 yard stop. Our run game will be fantastic once Arch unfucks himself. Pass pro has been excellent.

It's not THE problem, but it's a problem. And the line is not largely fine when they couldn't handle a light box from UTEP made up of undersized jags.

We are roughly the same as last year my guy, yardage wise, but I get your point. All these same problems were problems last year but for some reason we see them this year. We have struggled against undersized defensive fronts for awhile now. If you have quickness, you can give us a hard time in the running game. I fully expected some early struggles considering all the new faces on the line.

Except that’s not what teams are doing, Texas has faced nothing but light boxes and still stuffed at the line. UTEP sat in a 3 high shell all game and Texas still hade issues gaining consistent yards. Arch is playing like ass but teams are not punishing the run game because they don’t have to respect the passing game there just beating Texas at the line.

Bond was largely a non factor 3 games in due to injury. The issue isn't how fast the receivers are anyway.

Same as last year. Rinse and repeat.

We’re going to see nothing but 3 high shell I think most of this season and sark will be a dumbass and say the shit he’s already said once this year “they came Out in something that wasn’t on film” well no shit buddy it’s called game planning vs your offense

Posted (edited)

I wish yall would get off this 3 shell is Sark’s kryptonite bandwagon shit. There are WRs running wide open all fucking game. Sark is not stumped by a defense being in that coverage.

Now is it his fault for not prepping his QB or recruiting a QB that can make the necessary reads? Or having an OL that can bully a light box? Sure, but from a play calling perspective Sark has no issue beating that coverage.
