Ceiling Tear - no visible water damage

Recommended Posts

I noticed a tear in our living room ceiling.

My initial thought was water damage from a roof leak. I noticed this spot recently so it could have happened after the mega wind storm that hit austin last week but it could have been there before.

The tear occurs just below the seam of the drywall

From the exterior I do not see any missing or damaged tiles. b5f2e53f56b7877912627ffb89fa2384.jpg

I went back inside and noticed some cracks at the joint of the ceiling and the wall.

Is this a water leak issue or a foundation issue.

I'm suggesting it isn't any slab / foundation / framing movement issues.

Do you have any kids?

Yes. They don’t tend to hang out in the living room so I dont suspect hit it with anything.

I am comfortable knowing you don’t suspect any major issues. I’ll just get a guy to come in a patch / fix.

Thanks all
