Too many knee injuries unfortunately for White. One name I think could be interesting as part of a two back portal class is James Peoples. He was RB1 at Ohio State before Bo Jackson took over and he is a Texas native. It sounds like he will be in the portal.

Problem with the Lacy-Michigan idea is if he looks good, Auburn comes in and money whips him. If Sark hasn’t changed his spring game philosophy, the bowl is effectively the same thing

HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!

Also, "Lacy" is like Kewan Lacy, Ole Miss RB. "Lacey" would be KJ Lacey, tiny backup QB powerhouse at Texas. There's a shot everyone needs to bone up on the proper spelling for these two.

Nah be a dick, people just post random players here that have absolutely no reason to come to Texas or ties to us/the coaches which we've seen has a strong correlation to who we end up with. Can't wait till people start posting the Toledo WR's again.

Hey, now hold on a minute....how are the coaches possibly gonna know the player is available if it doesn't get posted on here.....

Melvin Hills got in the motherfucker.

Alex January is the only guy we signed in 3 cycles under Bo Davis who didn't transfer out.

It sounds like we weren't dedicating the amount of NIL to the position that we should have been until he left, but that is still pretty shocking.

It's not often you see a player come back from a knee ligament injury and operate at 100% pre-injury speed immediately. I'm hoping one more offseason gets Baxter back to near 100% and he can improve his draft stock, even if that means it happens in a jersey color other than burnt orange.

Yeah, the only player that comes to mind just happens to be a beyond generational freak, Adrian Peterson. I mean, let's forget just playing normal again. This mf'er tore both his ACL AND MCL in December of 2011, only to come back in 2012 and rush for not only 2k (2,097) but damn near broke Eric Dickerson's record (2,105). Dude was 8 yards short of tying and 9 from taking it. Everyone knows he's a legend. We don't need his stats. Lock for the HOF. 15 seasons in the NFL.

The other player I just thought of is Frank Gore, who coming out of HS was actually considered AP before AP. He was another generational freak. He was an absolute force to be reckoned with. Dude tore his ACL TWICE before coming to the NFL and being a beast. He still made All-Pro once and the Pro Bowl five times. Is almost certainly a lock for the HOF. 16 seasons in the NFL.

Willis McGahee in the NC game against fOSU. Tore his MCL/PCL. Still made two pro bowls. Though he won't be making the HOF, he still had a very productive career. One of only a few players to ever rush for 1k yards for three different teams. 10 seasons in the NFL.

That's it.

Looking up the percentage of how many players, running back in particular can come back the same, and it's staggeringly low (18.5%-30%), but to come back better?  Its so low they don't even have a percentage, so my guess is around 1%-5%, and that's just the NFL. Not even college, but the highest level athlete you can be.

I just read that Thurman Thomas tore his ACL in college and never had it repaired, only to go on to the NFL HOF. That's fucking wild. That's some Bo Jackson-tyoe legendary shit.

So yeah, it's probably not going to happen for Baxter. Those three guys that I named above are freaks; AP and Gore in particular. Good luck to the young man, and thank you for coming to Texas.

All right ... don't worry about Baxter.  We've got a 2 carries for -2 yards option hitting the portal.

More yards than Bama had the other day....
