2025 paid Surly FF League - It's happening. Draft tonight at 10:30 ET/9:30 CT

Invites are out. Need to accept before the draft.

Only non standard things here (ESPN PPR) are I elected to use FAAB instead of open waivers. Budget is 100, minimum bid is 0. Waiver period is 1 day. And we have the 2 flex starters, 6 deep bench, 1 IR, no positional limits on how you fill out your roster.

Since we have 12, I think pot should be $800, $300 and money back for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. We good with that?

Do you guys want to do League Safe or is everyone comfortable with settling up after the season?

Prizes seem reasonable to me.

Personally, I like the commish (or someone) to hold the money. I know we're all adults but I fucking hate badgering people to pay up later.

You are right and considering that person is going to be me, I think I will look into league safe tonight.

I am getting pulled into a 5:30 ET meeting. I'm picking my daughter up at 5 from cheer and I will have her draw the draft order and I'll post it after my call. All teams have accepted invites.

Y'all she gave me the first pick. If you feel this is shady I can redo it. Promise this was the first draw. I don't even want the first pick. Video uploading...

Yeah I hate this, last thing I wanted because of optics. I'm in another league with a buddy where the commissioner has given himself the #1 pick 3 years in a row (without a recording of drawing the order). I told my buddy I've been playing FF for 25 years and never once gotten the top overall pick. Now I'm the commissioner with a bunch of randoms who don't know me, and of course I get it. I think pick 4/5 is the sweet spot, but I will be taking Chase at 1.1.

I’m just yanking your chain. I couldn’t care less.

Thanks all, smooth draft. I'm going to try to get the league safe thing going (there's no fee) and I'll get those out in the next day or two. Happy we could make this come together.

Did an email go out? I figured I would get one, as well, but I didn't.

I got one pretty much right after your post.

Ok onto the next thing. Has anybody done non continuous FAB on ESPN before? In my CBS auction league, non rostered players lock as soon as their games start. Bids are processed on Wednesday night/Thursday early AM, and free agent adds are open first come, first serve as soon as those bids are processed and free agents are awarded to the high bidders. That was my intent here.

I did some googling and I think it's pretty similar here, but it doesn't let me select a day, only a waiver period (currently set to one day). I am reading that the waiver period applies not only after the last game of the week, but also after the draft and to any player who is dropped. So from what I can tell, free agent bids should process tonight and then free agents will be first come first serve provided their game hasn't already started. Then, players will be locked and the bid process would run again on Wednesday (no idea what time). I'm reading that if I set the waiver period to 2 days, bids would process on Thursday instead of Wednesday.

Anyone know for sure? Any opinions on Wednesday vs Thursday? I'm definitely going to leave it to one day for at least the next couple days so people can do open adds and drops for Week 1 after the bids (maybe) run tonight. But I could change it on Sunday or Monday to 2 days if Thursday is a better day.
