I don't watch much volleyball (SMU is good so that's cool ig) but this Harper Murray girl from Nebraska randomly popped up on my ig feed. When is their next game?

It looked a lot better preseason when they announced the matchups, but yeah...

Mid-ass Duke team, and then UNO, LA Tech, Morgan State, UTA, Alabama State

Texas still has UNC, Baylor and South Dakota St.

Just looking at the NET for non-conf games:

UNC is Q1 (#13 home)
Baylor is Q1 (#28 neutral)
SDSU is Q1 (#56 road)

Texas should finish with 5 Q1 non-conf games, but will they still there?  But in terms of resume building, they are all likely to be Q1 at the time we played them.

#2 in the coaches poll as well - 3 first place votes, to UConn's 28.

We are closer to UConn (27 points apart) than #3 South Carolina is to us (35 points apart)

UNC is #10 for a top 10 matchup in Moody on Thursday

The North Carolina women's basketball team is young, with a strong core of underclassmen who contribute significantly, supported by key senior leadership from Nyla Harris and Indya Nivar. They have a mix of talent from both inside and outside, featuring a center in 6'5" Blanca Thomas and multiple guards who can distribute the ball, such as Elina Aarnisalo (22 assists) and Nyla Brooks (14 assists).

(Not a surprise, Michael Voepel does the power rankings and voted us #1 in the AP poll)

The Players Era Championship in Las Vegas last week not only prompted a new No. 1 in ESPN's Power Rankings, it also provided an early look at a key rivalry in women's basketball. Texas is now in the top spot after victories against UCLA and SEC rival South Carolina on consecutive days.

1. Texas Longhorns (8-0)

Previous ranking: 4gn-arrow.png

Next seven days: vs. North Carolina (Dec. 4), vs. Prairie View A&M (Dec. 7)

Rori Harmon became the school's career assists leader vs. South Carolina, breaking the record set by Kamie Ethridge, the point guard for the Longhorns' national championship team in 1986 and now the coach at Washington State. Harmon has 781 assists, and also could become the school's career steals leader -- she has 301 and needs 46 more to break that mark, which dates to 1980.

Not super tested.  Yes they lost by 18 to UCLA, but that was a 5 point UNC lead after 1 and a 1 point UCLA lead at half.  UCLA dominated the second half, outscoring UNC by 11 and 6 in the final 2 quarters

UNC only shot 35% and 9-33 from BTA.  Outrebounded by 16, though they did minimize their TOs (only 9, to UCLA's 14).

Gotta run them off the 3 point line.  I don't worry too much about our rebounding and we will likely turn them over with pressure.

They are a top 10 team talent wise and could beat anyone if they get hot. Texas better not be looking ahead to Prairie View. I'm glad the game is in Austin. I would probably pick them if Texas was traveling to CH right now. It would really help if 1 of the 3 OWI are back on the court.

Yes, haven’t heard an injury report lately, but hopeful at least on Preston.

I’d feel better if we’d looked sharper against Penn, but I attribute that to what happened in Vegas not staying in Vegas. The girls should be up for this game.
