I would say sit Wemby against OKC and let these kids just run straight at them.

I mean I can't think of a worse game to bring Wemby back for. OKC is such a bunch of overly physical, dirty cunts.

Fuck all that. I want to see Wemby make Chet look like a high schooler again.

Something I just realized, Sochan didn't play at all last night. I've been rooting for his success, but he's just been bad this year, and it looks like Mitch might have given up on him. Kind of sucks because I think he could really help our perimeter defense, but his offense game is not there this year.

Yep, he went from our designated Luka stopper  to out of the gameplan completely. It was clear in the 3rd quarter he was getting DNP'd, I wasn't too surprised, but still feels weird since he was such a big part of the team/culture the last 2 years. I think a healthy scratch just about makes it clear that we're done waiting on his development.

Yeah I thought that was odd. Especially on a night that Carter Bryant wasn't really available, either

Whoever came up with these odds, just posted yesterday on ESPN from FanDuel, is drunk or wants to be fired.

First few are passable. I figured the Spurs would be middle of the pack.

Nope. 2000-1 odds, the same as the Hornets and Pelicans.

Mavs at 200-1, Clippers at 150-1 and Kings at 35-1. Lulz.

My only explanation is this is a lure into gambling. It may be working on me.

Yeah that's 100% worth a flier. Texting my guy rn 😂

Right? I've never done sports gambling, but I just may need to find a guy to text also.

Speaking of finances, I thought it was just championship money and didn't realize players got extra for progressing through each Cup round. Two way players get half, so not a bad $50K Christmas bonus last night for guys like DJG.

It's a long season. You never know when he might get a chance to get in there and show something. But they can't play 4 vs 5 on offense when he's out there and with the way Castle, Harper and Fox are able to get into the paint, you must have guys who you can kick out to and reliably knock down an open jumper. That obviously ain't him. Especially last night, when LA's perimeter defense was so bad and getting collapsed over and over. It wasn't a good spot for him. We may see him against OKC if the game is more of a slog, which I expect it to be unless OKC just runs us out of the gym. That's more of a game where you could envision him making an impact taking on SGA or Williams for a few possessions if one of them gets rolling.

I'm not sure it's a development thing. Something doesn't seem right with him mentally or physically or both. Whether or not he can shoot or handle the ball he used to play with more intensity and grit and presence. This season it feels like he's chasing butterflies or in La La Land a lot of the time.

He may need a change in scenery. If not I wouldn't mind giving him like $10M/yr for a few years and then just hoping he turns it around and it's a phase. @Mitch Cumsteen is right that it's a long season.

Those aren't the actual odds. Not sure where those numbers are from.

Spurs are 45 to 1 right now on FD. Meh.

I guess not FD. DraftKings. And yeah I think someone screwed it up here. Anyway, I'll leave this all to the gambling degenerates thread instead of the Spurs fan degenerates thread.

On Sochan this is his year to prove things and earn another contract. So far it isn't happening even with an increased opportunity with Wemby out. Maybe the injury slowed up his start, but he hasn't been consistent regardless, and isnworse than previous years.

As for not being out there against the Lakers, he was supposed to be honing his outside game all offseason. But he didn't even see the floor against one of the worst 3 pt defenses in the league with them leading by double digits most of the game.

Not a good sign of having the coach's trust and with Wemby and Kornet healthy and Castle, Vassell, Barnes etc, he's not likely to get a lot of chances.
