Texas Football 2025 Fall Camp - Kicking the Sonofabitch In
Wulaw Horn replied to closetojumping's topic in Football
Apparently they need at least 1 year to get used to the ball spinning clockwise or something so they don’t do stupid shit like drop it or shank it. Better get a new one every 2 years so we can break them in just in case. -

If you could see how the sausage was being made in the last cycle, you'd have been plenty worried. It's just best to remember that multiple dudes will be putting a gun to the program's head in December, no matter much we all may like them as fans. Moore, Muhammad and Niblack all got way out over their skis in the last cycle and we could very well be looking at all 3 on other rosters. We don't care and kind of laugh at Niblack's deal, but playing chicken with the other two luckily wound up in Texas' favor with Muhammad and broke some spirit with Moore. Neither would have been good losses. -
started going here last year after my other vet got bought out. highly recommend for sure.

I believe that was called the Dead Swan and like to think it's been removed from the playbook.
-
are we talking about QB play or our baseball teams historic approach to hitting? I is confused.
-
Ha. Probably true. The only defense I have is that our group of about 8-10 rec sports folks where there 2-3 times a week. Hoo. Did the 2 martini challenge twice, once for a buddy's b-day. Glad we had a DD.

What the fuck is wrong with you, Houston? Non-CR thread

Houston ballet is world renowned. It's not ABT or NYC but it has the 4th largest budget in the US. I knew a young lady who danced there. She trained in NYC. Also if you haven't done so, the Alley Theater is great for watching plays. It's not Broadway but it's the best live theater in Texas. -

I may be a chick but I'm not a sandy vagina. I was not worried last year and thought to the hand wringers --> insert michael keeton jack off gif. I'm also not worried this next year, you can't be so fucking loaded that you add from the portal, add from NSD and then have no attrition of "good" players. it's just not possible. -
anyone who went to UT in the early 00's has met at least 5 people who claim to be the reason for the 2 mex mart limit. also knew a guy who claimed he was banned from trudy's for inventing the mexican martini challenge...have 2 at each location in 1 night.

Arch will have a much better RB situation to start the year, likely equal or at least similar WRs, slight downgrade on OL and TE, and Sark will have a much bigger plays selection given Arch's scrambling and long ball. The defense will be likely at least equal and very possibly better. Aside from TO's, fewer stalled drives. Because there was a shit ton of them last season and shitty punting to go along with them. Our defense has better depth and breadth of talent, but have it to prove in terms of resiliency. But I believe the culture is there to maintain that standard. While it's true the defense had some breakdowns at times, they seemed to toe the line far more often than not when the offense was hanging them out to dry. Kept us in games.

How the fuck would you know that he's going to throw an incompletion?
-
I didn’t think there was a market for my biography
-
Are you referring to the pirouette, step step, studder, fail?
-
It got to the point near the end of the year that a first quarter tipped pass and maybe int was expected. I will not miss that about Quinn. But there’s a whole other god awful thread for that.
-
pretty much. I think his three big weaknesses are going to be: 1. miss reads some coverages with some bonehead soph starter type mistakes - we're fine as long as it's not wrong place wrong time. 2. pocket timing - run too early, not see an open guy bc of pressure, blind side hits because his clock is too slow. 3. throws too deep too often - for all the QE hate on the check down, we have such amazing athletes, the check down often is what keeps the drive going or puts you in manageable 3rd down spots. QE was great at that, maybe too great at times to the point that teams keyed on it, but I have feeling Arch will throw deep when the better decision was to check down. I think all of those can be overcome with less QB/RB turnovers, his mobility and deep threat which will open running lanes, and a better D than last year.

Pretty sure he's one of those old ass Australian Rules football guys that they converted at their academy. He looks 35 here though. Damn. -
…and an ignorant person‘s idea of a smart person. Drop sixth grade level. Communication style is a perfect fit for most of his fans. There is a reason why he has overwhelming support of voters with just a high school education - and why the more educated a person is the less likely they are to vote for him.

And whatever the fuck that weird Kentucky play was

Shaw is found money. He had a solid year last year after looking like a huge bust for UNC. Then he gets here and he can't trust one of his legs enough to go through some offseason drills. The word was that they were hoping he could do his best Jermayne Lole imitation and pick his spots to do something in very limited, painful snaps in 2025. Then they scope the guy and he's being openly talked about as someone who could move up draft charts. That's freaking huge and does nothing to denigrate the other guys on the depth chart. Lost in all of this is the very obvious probability that Hills portals in December. Sort of that 2022 class review from Gerry the other day, he's one of those guys getting drowned out by the talent level rising around him. Not a bad guy or bad player, but there's no path forward here. People who have been to the practices say that he stands out from the DT crowd size-wise, and not in a good way. I don't disagree. but we worried about this last year as well. There's definitely going to be attrition every year from here forward that hurts because the roster is simply loaded. I see risk on youth at WR and at TE, depth at QB, RB and in the secondary all being factors. That said, they have a process for managing it all, and money to help. The scouts they have covering the portal have also shown that they are top notch. Sarkisian got to learn under the roster retention master in Saban. Keep putting 10+ guys into the league every year and more players will wait their turn than they would virtually anywhere else. -

Fair, but have a high level of confidence his family isn't impoverished either.
