  1. She was banging the room service guy while you were gone.
  2. Let's get this thread back on track. Surly is not really a place to solve the world's problems. It's mainly for football and fail videos and the sugar lifestyle. And flexing on people with horrible, wrong headed takes. Right now, we don't need fancy figures - we should instead gloat over who was wrong and right about this dumbshit ordinance. 99% of us called this idiotic from the day it was proposed, and predicted it would lead to a free for all in terms vagrancy, unsightliness, property destruction, etc (see the thread title). We were told by the resident homeless expert we were pea
  3. No. That’s a foolish price. Netflix seems great a wasting money.
  4. They don't need to be arrested, they just need the experience of camping out wherever they want to be made miserable. Step 1: cops/dps tell them they have 30 minutes to vacate as they are camping illegally. All items left on public property will be seized. They start losing all their shit with some frequency, and this practice becomes far less attractive to them.
  5. Maybe in the old days, but under the new prop tax law, an ARB cannot raise a homeowners' proposed appraised value if they ask for a hearing. https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:USPC0kibPjgJ:https://www.dallasnews.com/news/watchdog/2019/06/14/breaking-it-down-this-is-how-the-new-texas-property-tax-law-affects-you/+&cd=5&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us
  6. I didn’t give her the chance to respond. I immediately told her that was meant for someone else. She has a lovely vagina though.
  7. I have another one, not involving me, but very curbish. Prof friend at another college moves into a new neighborhood. Apparently, the developer or neighborhood group put up these yellow bows on every tree, some sort of neighborhood pride thing. Friend tolerates it it for a week, but thinks it looks very schmaltzy so he tells the wife he's going to take it down. Wife tells him they are just proud of their neighborhood and it's quaint. One day, she's doing so yard work, and he's had enough, so he heads out with some scissors. Wife is talking to a guy walking his new puppy. As my
  8. I was giving an exam last semester via zoom and students were sending me private zoom message if they had a question. Them: "Prof, does question #2 refer to year 1 or year 2." Me: "I don't know - let me look and get back to you." One student (hottie, probably one of your daughters) asked me: "Can I get up to go to the bathroom?" I told her: Sure. Another student asked an exam question. I replied: "Let me look." Except I didn't realize zoom automatically defaults the message back to the last recipient unless I click on the new recipient's name. So the convo to the
  9. Hope it's true. Is this finalized?
  10. I’ve given up on both episodes this season. It’s terrible.
  11. I’d settle for a porn parody. Naked chicks with pointy ears.
  12. The biggest unresolved question in this whole mess is whether the answer to Derka's question is yes or no.
  13. I made all of this up myself. Baseball is different from any other sport, very different. For instance, in most sports you score points or goals; in baseball you score runs. In most sports the ball, or object, is put in play by the offensive team; in baseball the defensive team puts the ball in play, and only the defense is allowed to touch the ball. In fact, in baseball if an offensive player touches the ball intentionally, he's out; sometimes unintentionally, he's out. Also: in football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and all sports played with a ball, you score with the ball an
  14. If anything epitomizes "what should be done eventually, must be done immediately" it's UT's fucking around with the firing of Shaka Smart for several years now. It's been obvious to anyone with half a brain cell since 2017 that he's an overpaid clown. He should have been let go years ago.
  15. Yes, I get that. But OP makes it sound like the only option educated parents who care about their kids have is to spend $$$ on private school. That sounds silly to me.
  16. Many public schools in suburban Houston, Dallas, etc are actually quite good. Is the same not true in CA?
  17. Red Lick sounds like it should be close to Texarkana, so that makes sense.
  18. 91 EV for a freshman strikes me as strong, to quite strong. But my benchmark is my own kids and they take after their old man unfortunately.
