  1. never a fucking doubt
  2. She did that last year in the post-season too. Slapping against great pitching and defense is tough.
  3. https://www.ncaapublications.com/p-4683-2024-and-2025-softball-rules-book.aspx By the letter of the law that was not obstruction, by the NCAA softball rule book (see note 3): 9.5 Obstruction 9.5.1 Obstruction occurs when: 9.5.1.1 A defensive player, neither in possession of the ball nor in the act of fielding a batted ball, impedes a batter’s attempt to make contact with a pitch or impedes the progress of any runner who is legally running bases on a live ball. It can be intentional or unintentional. 9.5.1.2 A defensive player, while not in possession of the ball: a. Blocks any part of the leading edge of first, second or third base or home plate (as defined); or b. Otherwise blocks the runner from advancing or returning to a base. 9.5.2 The defensive player is not considered obstructing if they are in possession of the ball or they are, in the judgment of the umpire, making a legitimate reaction to the trajectory of the ball after it is thrown. Notes: 1. Once in possession of the ball, the defensive player can be positioned between the runner and the base/plate. 2. Obstruction may be ruled even though there is no physical contact. 3. If in the umpire's judgment, the runner would have clearly been put out then the obstruction is ignored. 4. Obstruction can occur on a force or tag play. She was hosed, ergo no obstruction. The umps have lost their damn minds over obstruction.
  4. How the fuck is she playing with a torn acl?
  5. Can anyone ID this one? (note me; from r/austin circlejerk)
  6. Simpson to start, with a short leash, then Mia Scott in to relieve.
  7. Canady's changeup is the best I've seen in a while. It's so hard to pick up and it's devastating
  8. Right now, everyone is busting Reese inside, sometimes up and in, sometimes as a strike, sometime not, but almost always early in the count. She takes most of these, cause of the count, and when she doesn't she pulls it foul (which is natural when it's inside). I would have her work on trying to stay inside the ball on these and not turning on it so much. And hunt this pitch - especially early in the count. It's a home run ball if approached correctly. Gotta make the pitch caller stop calling this so much.
  9. I think Mullins from Texas State pitched there around the same time. crazy.
  10. Crazy that Sam Landry and Sophia Simpson pitched for the same high school team. That's so much talent.
  11. SIAP, but I guess there's only one thing left to do.
  12. Made the WCWS finals again. I'm sure the teardown is coming. Lulz.
  13. When I get home, I’m gonna dig up my best quotes on this thread.
  14. Just landed. Did I miss anything?
  15. A lot of these girls throw 80+ pitches in bullpens multiple times a week. It's very different than baseball. She may tire out, but I wouldn't count on it.
  16. I’m on vacation (national parks) and missed most of the games. I assume slaying the dragon was ad glorious as it sounds.
  17. I wish we still had Courtney day on our roster as a DP.
  18. I noticed a big drop off from SEC league play to the playoffs.
  19. preparing for the 2 and q?
  20. her dropball was sharp last night. I wish we could bottle that. And blue was giving her the low strike (at least sometimes).
  21. Reese is an elite hitter. As a catcher, she has a great arm, but is average at receiving. She is pretty bad at blocking, but I've noticed that is a common trait with many softball catchers. Blocking in softball is absolutely dreadful, and it's going downhill in baseball too because of all the one knee shit.
  22. ok, ok. I'll take it.
  23. VQ never saw a pitch she didn't like. Girl will swing at anything. VH is Pedro Serano. She can crush the fastball over the plate. Anything with spin and bat is very afraid.
