  1. Also, if A&M had not tied USC for the men’s track championship, we wouldn’t have won.
  2. You appear to be correct. That appears to be the only time they went to a game that aired on ESPN. They were supposed to go to Illinois and made a last minute switch to stay in Boulder and take advantage of the Deon hype. Apparently they have also televised one game that aired on NBC (at Notre Dame).
  3. I don’t necessarily disagree that it doesn’t happen a lot, but I would argue that it happens a lot when Fox is showing the marquee game of the weekend, as is the case week 1. Big Noon never goes to a different site, even if they’re showing something terrible at noon, whereas ESPN generally seems to pick the biggest game unless there are multiple games that are really close.
  4. Damn. If it was at UVA, I would definitely be there.
  5. I took it to mean it doesn’t seem like he was chasing clout, given that he didn’t even post a commitment video.
  6. Of those 6, I feel pretty good about Women's Golf and beach volleyball eventually winning a title under their new coaches. Men's outdoor track and field has been close and Texas recently won an indoor title, so I would not be surprised if we won one relatively soon. Men's basketball is likely always going to be a bit of a long-shot, soccer is obviously hampered by the coach, and we do not seem to care about cross-country at all, so I am not sure that one will ever happen.
  7. Just checking in and holy shit guys, pull yourselves together.
  8. Rate Field, which is I guess what the White Sox call their field now, is way too high. Having been to five of the stadiums in your C tier, I would say they are all way better.
  9. Oh wait... did you say defense?
  10. I mean, if we get the top three players in the portal, that would be pretty good...
  11. As someone who has not lived in Texas in 20 years (damn, I'm getting old), this is music to my ears.
  12. I'm just glad we were able to overcome what was obviously a huge coaching disadvantage against Florida.
  13. Bummer for UVA, but hilarious from the A&M side.
  14. Oklahoma State will be going for its 12th title and UVA will be trying to win its first ever title.
  15. O'Connor took over in 2004 - it's a pretty stark contrast to what UVA was before that:
  16. I'm pretty sure Oklahoma State is ranked number 2 in the country (behind Auburn). If they win, it would not be an upset.
  17. If I'm ranking stadiums, I would do go as follows: 1. Wrigley 2. PNC 3. AT&T 4. Camden Yards 5. Fenway 6. Yankee (old) 7. Minute Maid 8. Coors 9. Nationals 10. Progressive 11. Citizens Bank 12. Citi 13. SunTrust 14. Astrodome 15. O.Co 16. RFK 17. Great Rate (Or whatever the White Sox are currently calling that monstrosity)
  18. I've been to Pittsburgh and Philadelphia for Cubs' series and Cleveland for a couple of one-off games when visiting my wife's family. Pittsburgh is great. We stayed downtown and just walked across the Clemente bridge for the games. Obviously the skyline view is great and they did fireworks over the river after one of the games. I will say that it was probably a better experience because we went during the small period when the Pirates were actually good. For Philly, we also staid downtown, but its not really walkable to downtown because of the sea of parking lots surrounding their sports complex area. The stadium itself was nice enough, although it rained all weekend, so we did not get to fully experience everything. If I recall, they have a big billboard blocking a lot of the downtown view, which is unfortunate. Progressive was decent, but I honestly do not remember much memorable about it. I have been to 17 MLB stadiums, but that includes four parks that are no longer in use (O.Co, Astrodome, RFK, Yankee Stadium (Old)). As a DC-area resident, I have been to Nationals park dozens of times. The park itself is pretty bland, but they have built up the area around it quite a bit over the last couple of years and so the gameday experience is much better than it used to be when they first built it. They have also improved the range of eateries in the stadium, so there is a better mix of local places and chains. To be honest, it has grown on me over the years, but I would probably rank it right around average for newer parks.
