  1. Since you are talking about your fam, for those that did not see, post that story about you and your Dad going to Clark field. I can't remember exact details but you met Gus and someone else ? Cool story.
  2. Car rental companies are making a fortune and we are the victims. Not sure they want this vehicle/chip shortage to end. (excerpts) The return of leisure and business travel this year as more customers were vaccinated for Covid-19 have helped Avis Budget rebound from a dismal 2020. Shares rose about 6% in after hours trading Monday. Hertz has made a lot of headlines lately thanks to its deals with Tesla and Uber. Wall Street has noticed, too. But rival rental car company Avis Budget is doing even better. Hertz stock, which currently is listed on Nasdaq's bulletin board and hopes to return to the regular Nasdaq through an initial public offering, is up almost 30% since the company emerged from bankruptcy earlier this year and began trading again in July. Still, that's nothing compared to its rival's stock. Shares of Avis Budget (CAR) have surged more than 110% since July and are up almost 380% so far in 2021. The company reported its third quarter results after the closing bell Monday. Needless to say, expectations were high — and Avis Budget surpassed them. https://www.cnn.com/2021/11/01/investing/avis-budget-earnings-stock/index.html
  3. Your brother makes valid points. Seems Sark may have lost this team. Maybe too enamored with play calling. During the Baylor game, it was interesting that Coleman put his arm around Casey and talked to him for a few minutes. Possibly about a route combination or other. Or to give him confidence. Not saying Sark does not also do that, but Casey has lost his confidence. The team shows very little emotion on the sideline. Not sure they watch the game.
  4. No apology needed. Calzada has excellent coaches though difficult for us to admit.
  5. BO&W is correct about Danny Davis, AAS. During a podcast after Herman was fired, Davis stated one reason was because "he had the audacity to support" the BLM protests by the players. "Audacity" stated in a sarcastic tone. Many coaches did the same.
  6. Per McClennan. Would think it may be shorter due to postgame activities and LHN, but this is what they say.
  7. Thanks ! No need, relax and have a good time. LHN is advertising the game will be televised though it is not on TV schedule. 1PM, iirc.
  8. Thanks for the post ! How did the catchers look ? Who caught besides Silas ? Do you recall if the transfers Schuessler (aggy) or Hoffart (Blinn) played ? And Melendez and whoever at 1B ? Sorry for the interrogation. I should have went. Will make it up to you with best buy coupons and rep. 🙂 https://twitter.com/TexasBaseball?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^author Nice photos on twitter. Needs to be a writeup on TexasSports - softball always has one. Per staff listing, Heather Vacek has been appointed Director of Operations replacing Drew. She was previously an assistant within the Athletic Dept.
  9. I like Gundy, have a good friend in Midwest City who is friends with the Gundy family. Did not intently watch the Iowa St game, but it seemed they stopped running the ball in the 4th qtr ? Was Warren injured ?
  10. Yet these undersized, walkon misfits you describe led OU and OKSt by substantial margins only to lose - and you say we don't have cause to question a defensive coordinator who is apparently married to a scheme over the players on his roster ? Whose defense set a record for permitting the greatest comeback in the Texas/OU series ? The defensive coordinator who had a OU freshman QB with a 3rd and 19 and chose not to pressure with even a corner blitz ?
  11. Saved by Cora !
  12. Astros don't have a LHP for this part of Boston's lineup ? damn,,,,
  13. Do you know what happened to the plan for grad school housing behind the softball field and the redesign of the Comal St area ? Questioned the need. The plan was presented about 3-4 years ago.
  14. Anyone ever heard him say "We realize the standards at the University of Texas." Beard, Vic, Pierce, Elliott, and Reese say it. Sure he goes thru the cliche of fan appreciation, need to play better, my job, my fault, but does he realize where he is or does it matter ?
  15. https://www.ou.edu/web/search Shepherd also reports Rattler's name is not listed in the OU Directory. Other players' name appear. If all true, interesting to see how Rattler's NIL situation will play out if he received any advance compensation.
  16. Let's talk S&C. Problem or nah ? DLine, DB's seem to get pushed around. OLine mostly talent but seems they could be stronger.
  17. Agree. LHN Graphic: Sarkisian is 1-7 as a head coach against top ten teams on a neutral field or visiting team.
  18. Miss me yet ?
  19. Perfect Game moving to Cedar Park. Boost for area baseball. (excerpts) A baseball and softball scouting organization, Perfect Game, is moving its national headquarters to Cedar Park as part of an economic deal that will bring the city more than $20 million in revenue over 10 years, an official said. The revenue will come from rent the company will pay for city-owned land as well as hotel taxes and sales taxes generated when visitors come to the youth baseball tournaments that Perfect Game hosts, said Ben White, the city's economic development director. "Teams from around the nation will come to Perfect Game’s complex for tournaments, resulting in 60,000-plus room nights in the first year and around 150,000 room nights by year 10," the city said. Perfect Game also will allow the city use of the ballfields for the community, local nonprofits and government entities for a minimum of 25 days per year with no cost to the city. "This project will benefit the community through the large local economic impact Perfect Game delivers by hosting best-in-class tournaments and related activities that attract hundreds of thousands of families from across the United States,” Perfect Game President Jerry Ford said in the release. https://www.statesman.com/story/news/2021/10/04/baseball-scouting-companys-move-cedar-park-bring-20-million-city/5845573001/

    TEXAS QB TALK

Not sure if posted. Sarkisian is clearly all-in with Thompson. Backup Hudson Card was taken off field goal holding duties against TCU. Card has played in four games, the maximum allowed to preserve an athlete’s redshirt status. Officially, Card would still have four years of eligibility remaining if he redshirts. The 2020 season was wiped off the board, from an eligibility standpoint, because of the pandemic. The NCAA allowed all athletes to freeze their eligibility. Thus, Card could technically still be classified as a redshirt freshman in 2022. https://www.hookem.com/story/sports/football/2021/10/03/texas-football-sarkisian-looks-like-hes-all-casey-thompson/5934847001/
  22. Dude can coach DB's.

  24. Just saw below article on a newsfeed. Would this apply to your order ? Ford is offering a $2,000 discount to customers who forgo a custom order and buy an in-stock vehicle instead. According to a letter sent to dealers, Ford says the latest offer is in place "understanding that some customers may not be able to wait to take delivery of a 22MY vehicle." While that sounds reasonable, it runs somewhat contrary to a push this past summer to get buyers to wait with a $1,000 custom order discount. The latest deal replaces the order bonus and will run alongside a new incentive extending discounts to most 2022-model-year vehicles. Ford's program bulletin says the in-stock discount is available through November 1st to customers with a "verified unscheduled 21MY Retail Order." Most models are eligible with the exception of the new Ford Bronco, Maverick, F-150 Tremor, F-150 Lightning, and upcoming E-Transit Having said that, the so-called "21MY In-Stock Customer Satisfaction Private Offer" isn't like most Ford incentives and rebates. As a private offer, you won't see it advertised. Therefore, your ability to actually take advantage of the offer could be limited based on whether or not you have an order and its current status. It's unclear if the deal will encourage buyers to trade-up, trade-down, or simply choose a configuration they didn't intend to buy from the start. For now, this appears to be yet another example of Ford creating a way to keep buyers from jumping ship to a competitor during an unprecedented situation with no end in sight. But is a $2,000 discount really that good of a deal if there aren't a ton of cars to choose from? For example, we're tempted to praise a $2,000 discount on the Mustang Mach-E, a model with basically no factory rebates. However, strong demand has resulted in up to a 28-week wait time on new Mach-E orders. If you happen to be eligible for Ford's new offer, getting the chance to save an extra $2,000 during a period of high car prices could seem like a good deal. However, odds are you may be limited by the choices near you. As a result, we recommend considering your options carefully before making a decision. https://www.carsdirect.com/deals-articles/ford-paying-customers-2-000-to-buy-in-stock-cars
  25. Per @petscii above, we play San Jac, 24 Oct. Reviewing the archives, in 2019 we played McClennan and San Jac and 3 Fall World Series games. That schedule was released 9/26 so perhaps schedule will be released next week. https://www.njcaa.org/sports/bsb/2021-22/div1/schedule?teamId=dk6xuncvnirvfu7x https://texassports.com/news/2019/9/26/baseball-announces-2019-fall-schedule.aspx
