  1. Because no technology ever advances or is made scalable. My fear of AI has nothing to do with a singularity and sentience, that is very far off and/or unlikely. My fear is the moment of convergence between quality and commoditization, which is coming sooner than we will be ready for. It's the point in time when any asshole can prompt: make a video of my political opponent having sex with a minor and the AI spits out something that is virtually indistinguishable from reality. Reality is already obscured by the relatively slow stream of human generated misinformation. AI is going to increase the amount and quality of the bullshit by orders of magnitude and make it incredibly difficult to understand what is happening unless you are there to personally witness it.
  2. To this day, me with a brown sugar cinnamon pop tart:
  3. How do you know our legislators are not digital personas developed and controlled by AI?
  4. I’m kinda ready for the rapture so people like this go away and those of us left behind can get to fixing this mortal coil.
  5. @Helobious is right, this is just too damn much.
  6. Like the VJ Day kiss pic. Let’s call this one VTay Day.
  7. I understand you don't like her for your own reasons. There are a lot of people who suddenly in the last week or so "decided" they don't like Taytay. I am speaking about them. Sorry to catch you up in my broad brush.
  8. My point is that the fallout is probably dependent on the coach/organization and what they want to make of it vs uniform across the league. Maybe AJ Brown would face some more serious repercussions with the Eagles vs Kelce with the Chiefs. His statement that he'd be drummed out of the league is just wrong, but he might have some significant consequences within the team he is a part of.
  9. He wouldn't have been kicked out of the league, but if Jeff Fisher was his coach, his career with the Chief's would be over.
  10. I will say, there is some guerrilla marketing genius to politicizing the super bowl. If you are someone who benefits from America's discord, making the game about politics vs football got you way more attention and consideration than you would have gotten otherwise. A 30 second ad to promote your brand or idea? $7 million. Making everyone take sides in the Super Bowl culture war? Priceless.
  11. Oh yeah? Well Louisiana is just a minor problem.
  12. They don't like her because of anything she's done. They don't like her because they've been told not to like her. Its because the crazy right has gotten really good at targeting and tearing down public figures in their circle of informational influence. I am guessing they caught wind of something regarding Swift and the election that might hurt Trump and they are proactively attempting to condition those they hold sway over to reject anything from her direction in the future.
  13. We had some of my kid's friends over to my place for a sleepover. One of them hadn't been here before and was picked up by her father yesterday. I introduced myself, and asked if he had plans for the Super Bowl and who he was rooting for. "49ers! I have about had it with Taylor Swift." His daughter rolled her eyes. "Oh, not a fan of her music?" I asked. He just laughed like we were both in on some inside joke. "That's funny!" he said. That was it, he told his daughter to tell us thank you, and they left. Other than his need to flash his MAGA card, it was a normal interaction. During the game, I kept laughing thinking about the dude as the Chief's made their comeback and Taylor Swift kept getting more screen time screaming like one of her own fans as the 49ers went down. Small victories.
  14. England had their War of the Roses. It's fitting that the simulation gives America its War of the Vegetables.
  15. The regifted dildo of consequences always arrives lubed.
  16. His prefrontal cortex needs to cancel his amygdala.
  17. If only the Allies were smart enough to do this in WWII, we’d all be driving a Mercedes
  18. I’ll go on the record now and say that if Gen Z saves America from Donald Trump, they can go ahead and get back on my lawn.
