  4. Maybe? I don't know. We're both speculating on something we don't have direct insight into.
  5. It's all a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma. If I had to guess, these policies are about manufacturing an economic/inflation crisis early (maybe even before he takes office) while throwing the previous administration under the bus for them. Then changing policies discreetly, removing the manufactured crisis and saying, "I fixed that." I mean, the election showed that a majority of people will accept that at face value should they bother to look outside their fish bowl.

  7. Well, Quinn was objectively two of two yesterday. He was playing decent, got hobbled in the 2nd quarter, then shit all over himself and really lathered it up in the 2nd half. We just have a good enough defense and running game to not lose against a 4-7 team. I’m not saying Arch should start if Quinn is healthy, but we aren’t winning another game if our offensive game plan is limited to what we were capable of in the 4th quarter yesterday.

Watched the first two episodes with my wife tonight and we are both hooked. Its not nearly as over the top as Yellowstone, which is like The Sopranos in Big Sky country. I think this is a more nuanced and better show, hands down. Billy Bob is as perfect as the daughter's ass.

  19. Hey, I like things the way they are, too. But people voted for radical and unknowable change. The populace was given ineffectual and increasingly histrionic warnings that fell on deaf ears. And now no one can do anything about it until things get bad enough to result in a groundswell of support for a return to the way things were, if it ever arises. Trump breaking the economy may very well happen. It has yet to happen. What is an undeniable fact is that too few people give a shit about the hypotheticals for them to carry any weight. People will need to see and feel pain in their lives for these messages to resonate in their mind. Here's to it being not as bad as feared around here.
  20. I am personally kind of tired of this kind of "speculative scenarios wherein voters faces are eaten by the leopard they voted for". Along with the "This soundbite destroys person X" and "unnamed sources close to the President say" items that are thrown around here like they are proven facts. What this lady describes could very well prove to be accurate, but right now it's just worst-case conjecture about how Trump's deportation plans will be executed. The jury of the court of public opinion registered its antipathy to this type of messaging during the election. All it does is scare A) scare the shit out of people who are already scared or B) make you seem unhinged to the people that need to won over to a counter-MAGA movement. For most voters, the general idea that "anyone in this country illegally should be deported" is not in and of itself a bad thing. Like I don't categorically disagree with that. Do I have a lot of confidence the incoming administration will carry that out justly with a scalpel vs a hatchet? No. But this is not a tangible and real concern for a distracted populace who voted for an economic breather. Events need to be allowed to play out. Don't propagate conjecture about citizens having to prove they are in the country legally, propagate the videos of people being wrongly deported if and when it happens. This hypothetical doomcasting is part of the informational overload that is leading people to tune out and choose to be an uninformed voter. For better or worse, the average citizen is going to need to witness some leopards ripping apart faces before they really start to consider, let alone buy into, the rhetoric.
