    Getting old sucks

I am laying the pre-move groundwork with Mrs. Brat, but know it is going to be a near impossible task with her. She will join my octogenarian status next month.
  2. Does he dye his hair with shoe polish?
  3. My ‘74 MGB went 25 years ago….
  4. And Mrs. Brat recommends the Pink Adobe, but can’t remember what she last had there in 1962.
  5. My son said he had the Primo at Pasqual’s yesterday….

Yes - on Parmer at Lakeline/Neenah. House Ritas are decent, as are the crispy tacos. Santa Catarina in Cedar Park has some really good beef enchiladas and a great $8 happy hour shrimp cocktail that Mrs. Brat can’t finish. There are a couple more chopped up shrimp in the sauce.

Our geezer happy hour group meets there maybe once a year….. but our taste buds aren’t what they used to be.j
  8. This will work too….
  9. It might behoove y’all to consider the pig bidness.

Not necessary, we had a very good server (and cute too, in her short shorts).
  11. BTTT… One of Mrs. Brat’s uncles was an Aggie back in the late 1920s-30s. He even played the coronet in the band. Fortunately he was pretty cool and never aggy’d up conversations or gave me any grief for having attended UT. Never saw him wearing his ring either. However, his younger brother was a hardcore Notre Dame grad who doubled down on the smack talk after the 1971 Cotton Bowl which ended DKR’s 30 game winning streak.

We hit La Mancha on Hancock yesterday afternoon for Happy Hour. Been meeting there off & on for years. Thanks to Brisket’s recommendation last year, the Truck Stop Enchiladas are now my go-to meal there. Mrs. Brat still just orders herself an a la carte Chalupa..
  13. There’s a Cajun guy on the little Vegas social board (maybe 15 of us are still posting after it started 25 years ago) where I hang out. Funny personality, but unfortunately he recently discovered how to use AI to gin up all kinds of Thibideaux & Budreaux swamp cartoons. Talk about The Fonz jumping that shark…..geeze.
  14. Nope, but these were nice…
  15. I apologize for contributing to this haberdashery slap fight.
  16. My subscription is only for the online AAS, but here’s the link to Monday’s article in the Metro-State section: Sorry, but I dunno how to open & post it here. https://statesman-tx.newsmemory.com/?token=d6d0d489ff583aaeb85c2c9def069624&cnum=fd6bbe4c-2b3e-eb11-a0ad-90b11c3d639b&fod=1111111STD-0&selDate=20250417&licenseType=paid_subscriber&
  17. We were stationed at Fort Sam in San Antonio at that time. My parents and older brother said they heard it, but I don’t remember.
  18. A couple of my silly guns…
  19. I laughed every time yankee Travolta said “sonbitch” instead of “sumbitch” in that corny flick.
  20. Genuine Texas redneck says hey!
  21. My DIL’s stepfather died, along with her mom, flying from Lubbock to Branson. Crashed somewhere in Arkansas, I think.
  22. Other than more “tacti-cool”, what does that bring to the table than a full size Glock or any other hi-cap pistol? If it was a real full automatic then it would be something to consider…..for some aficionados. JMO of course.
