  1. Dad’s 1961 Chevy Impala sedan, straight 6 with three on the tree. Hit 55 in 2nd by the time the cop bagged me. Prior to that I had been cruising the Pig Stand at Live Oak & S. Congress.
  2. I carry my 9mm with 124 grain +p HST, and the nightstand gun with the same.
  3. When the student/hunters started shooting back at Whitman with their deer rifles, he could no longer lean over the parapet to shoot at will. He was pinned down and could only use the little drain spouts to fire out of, and that really restricted his effectiveness. Sounded like a Vietnam firefight by that time, only much louder than the TV news. Then we saw a white flag of some kind waving above the parapet, so we rushed the Tower along with hundreds of other people, stepping over large pools of drying blood here & there.
  4. Got my 1st speeding ticket drag racing on South Congress in front of TSD.
  5. I’ve been paying $293/month for Spectrum since the Obama administration. (3 DVR boxes, Internet, and landline telephone bundle) Is that a screw job?
  6. Nutcracker’s Texas cousin in Hutto….
  7. Birdied a few times, and then there was the occasional bogey.
  8. I didn’t get much farther north on Burnet than the Green Acres miniature golf and driving range in the early 1960s. Was a South Austin boy then, except for the tail chasing. That was primarily after sundown.
  9. A cousin’s dog In Pennsylvania, Nutcracker:
  10. I didn’t complain. Laughed about it when talking to one of the deputies, then nailed a couple of spare pickets up the next morning. When my parents left me home alone for a weekend or a week, I did what NMAS did.
  11. High school kid behind us threw a kegger early one summer while mom was working night shift at her hospital. Not too loud, but us neighbors knew what was going on. Somebody (not me) squealed and the Wilco deputy sheriffs raided the house about 11pm. I saw at least 2 dozen kids climbing over the wood privacy fences in all the adjacent back yards to escape - it looked like turning on the kitchen light at midnight in a taqueria and watching the cockroaches take off. The escapees broke two of my fence pickets and left both gates open on either side of the house. About an hour later we heard a very irate mom chewing ass all the way from their front yard while the sheriff cruisers still had their lights flashing and deputies were searching the premises for “contraband”. For the next month there was not a light on in that house, and it sold by the end of the summer. The kid was too dumb to throw a pasture party somewhere further out than our Brushy Creek suburb.
  12. Yes we should….. for the lulz…..
  13. Mrs. Brat blew a mean sax before we were married, but of course that ceased once we said “I do”.
  14. Or printed up truckloads of Pyle Field location maps for visiting opponent fans.
