  1. That’s what Briles and Baylor thought. Texas doesn’t have to go full on “win at all costs” to be nationally relevant and successful in football. Also, turning a program around and making it to the championship game in a single year is definitely the exception, not the rule.
  2. Incredible final. So happy for Messi to be a a World Cup champion.
  3. Wow, a try from beyond the 6 yard box. What a novel idea.
  4. This is several weeks old, but didn’t see it posted. Nothing surprising, but pretty funny to hear from the perspective of a member of Congress.
  5. I’ve been curious what the reaction would be when Ewers had the inevitable stinker of a game. This special thread is about what I expected.
  6. So it turns out last week wasn’t a culture win at all, just another lucky escape. Texas was close to blowing this game open and demoralizing the Pokes, but they still haven’t find that gear or killer instinct against teams with any fight. They haven’t lost me, but that was brutal to experience. A true agonizing slow motion catastrophe.
  7. Rojo looks like he’s trying to score 20 points every time he touches the ball. What an absolute beast of a football player and example of tenacity personified.
  8. Remember when Appalachian State upset Aggy? They’re getting their ass handed to them by the Texas State Bobcats. This would be funnier if Bama wasn’t try to fumble their way into gifting Aggy a win in Tuscaloosa.

Mudholing the Sooners was satisfying as hell, but they’re a dogshit football team. Texas is clearly a different team with Ewers at the helm, but we’ll find out soon how good they are.
  10. It sucks, but at least I can watch Texas for the rest of the season without the stress of hoping they will compete for the conference title this year. We know who they are now. I’d love to be wrong, but I came into this season with the idea that we probably won’t see significant improvement until the year after next.
  11. Regardless of when you, I, or anyone first saw it, I don’t think it will ever be not funny.
  12. The QB running in that winning TD was their “VY 4&5” moment. Errbody getting laid in Lubbock tonight.
  13. That’s a very kind and gentlemanly way of putting it. Yeah, “resilient.” Two more weeks.
