  1. Things that I think I know: 1. Sark is a good offensive coach. Even with our terribly personnel outside of Bijan and Worthy, we consistently get guys open downfield and have put up a lot of points (with a few exceptions) this year. However, he seems to be maybe not a great head coach/leader. He made what seemed like a good hire in PK but it has turned out to be a disaster. Something needs to change with the defensive staff. All I want to see is us running a base 4 down linemen defense. We’ve been running some variation of a 3-3-5 for the last 5+ years and it just isn’t working. We need to start recruiting pure DE prospects (not the all-DT strategy we’ve been using) in order to be able to get a pass rush and stop the run consistently. I saw us running 2 DL with Oghoufo and Thornton as the “DE” while WVU ran it for 8 yards a carry all second half. It’s unacceptable. 2. We have major, major issues on our roster. WR, OL, DL, and LB are probably the worst. QB is also highly questionable unless second-half Card somehow had a flip switch in his head and regained his composure and accuracy. Regardless, we need to aggressively recruit the transfer portal and turn over the roster. We particularly need upperclassmen who can provide some leadership. A lot of the current upperclassmen look apathetic and disinterested half the time. No matter what, we’re probably looking at a 2-year rebuild, minimum. 8-4 would be a good result next year. TLDR coaches and players both have responsibility for the current suckage.
  2. This defensive scheme is terrible and/or we have the worst possible personnel for it.
  3. All I hope is that Bijan and Worthy both stay and play next year. Then some combination of recruiting and the portal for the rest.
  4. We can’t stop the pass because everyone starts 7-10 yards off their receiver and bails out deep immediately. These are basic schematic failures that a high school defensive coordinator wouldn’t make. I can see why the players are so pissed and apathetic.
  5. We are playing 2 defensive lineman. Is it any surprise we can’t stop the run? Fire PK immediately
  6. Can you imagine what KSU is going to do to us next week?
  7. You’re right. I joined the site in March 2018 as a false flag so I could execute my master plan of commenting on the Virginia gubernatorial race almost 4 years later. Nothing gets by you.
  8. Lol, there it is. Like clockwork.
  9. I generally don’t pay close attention to politics but this election is interesting. What exactly CRT is (it’s a collection of ideas, some people have shared views and some do not) and whether “CRT” is taught in schools (probably not explicitly part of the curriculum but there shouldn’t be any doubt that elements of it end up being introduced to students since the teacher’s Education degree probably included a healthy dose) are besides the point. My view is that “CRT” just provided a convenient label for what many people are sick of. Democratic politics has fully embraced the idea that “if you don’t agree with me then you are a racist.” Don’t like my budget proposal? Racist. Don’t agree with me about policing issues? Racist. It goes on and on. Most likely I will be quoted and accused of being racist for making this post. The D’s can choose to see the writing on the wall and back off from the reflexive accusations or they can continue down the same path and get destroyed at the ballot box in 2022 and 2024. People are sick and tired of being accused of racism and are drawing the line at having their kids receive the same treatment. And since I know the accusation is coming I’ll just say it now - I didn’t vote for Trump in 2016 or 2020, nor will I vote for him in 2024 if (when) he runs again.
  10. I may be wrong about this but I think the car service is run by the NFLPA, not the NFL, precisely so the players won’t be retaliated against for using it. In this case it probably wouldn’t have mattered. It seems like he was determined to be a dumbass and nothing was going to stop him.
  11. So one of this lunatic’s goals is to prove how you can save money using prefabricated materials and identical floor plans, yet the projected cost is $1.5 BILLION? For a dorm? WTF is going on here. Also, the fake window is 10x more depressing than having no window at all. Oh boy, looks like a sunny day today! I’m totally not sad anymore!
  12. What’s with everyone excusing PK because he doesn’t have guys that “fit his scheme”? How about ADJUSTING THE FUCKING SCHEME?? Why do only hire Neanderthals who refuse to try anything new? It’s like they would rather get shit on every Saturday so long as they can do it “their way”. Saban ran a pro-style offense for decades until he realized it wasn’t working anymore and adjusted. They now have consistent top 10 offenses. We hire guys who will go to their grave with one scheme because they cannot or will not admit that it’s not working. This isn’t just on defense by the way. Herman’s QB battering ram offense that consistently resulted in injuries at the most important position on the field also comes to mind.
  13. I would support firing PK and hiring literally anyone who promises to play 4-3 man with 1 deep safety at least 60% of the time. My standards are so low that I just want a middle school defense out there. We have tried literally everything over the last decade besides the one defense that is executed with success across all levels of football.
  14. This right here is part of the problem. You don’t recruit quality DL by telling them their role is to eat blocks so that someone else can make a play. It has been a problem ever since Charlie hired whoever the fuck as his first D coordinator. We had Cedric Reed coming off a season where he played a real DE position and IIRC he has somewhere close to 10 sacks. We moved to a 3-4 front and had him playing 4I and guess what, his production dropped to almost 0. He actually publicly complained about this. And every coordinator we have hired since runs some variation of this same scheme. Supposedly PK is a 4-3 guy, but all I know is that I rarely see a defensive lineman set up outside the OT. Games are won and lost along the lines. Until we run a scheme that allows DL to be playmakers we are going to continue to be mercilessly negative recruited, and rightfully so.
  15. All I want to see is a defensive scheme where we put 4 ACTUAL defensive linemen on the field to stop the run before we worry about anything else. Not 3 DT and a “Jack”, or a “Joker”, or a “Buckaroo”. 2 DE and 2 DT. We’re going to need to hit the portal for the DE because the clown show of D coordinators we have hired over the past decade didn’t seem to want to recruit them. Secondly, out DBs need to stop being coached to bail to 10-15 yards beyond the LOS pre-snap. If I can see it happening on TV you can damn sure guarantee that opposing coaches see it. I would wager that 70% or more of Baylor’s receptions yesterday were a 5-10 yard hitch route. Why even try to run deep when we give up the first down willingly? It really can’t be that hard to find a coordinator who understands the fundamentals of defensive football…right?
  16. After this week we better see some new faces at WR. We must have recruited at least a few other than Worthy last year, right? And no, Kai Money is not a new face.
  17. I understand the Big XII giving us the middle finger on the way out since we sorta fucked them over. But, two things: 1. They deserve it. It has been so mismanaged over the years it’s unbelievable. My favorite example was them coming up with the “One True Champion” tagline and failing to envision a potential tie in a round-robin conference schedule. The “One True Champion” conference awarded two conference title trophies that year and quickly scrapped the slogan. 2. Reality is going to slap them pretty hard when we (along with OU) are gone. I’m sure the Cincinnati - Kansas State game is really going to light up the airwaves in the 11am slot on NBCSN.
  18. Speaking of leaders, I know I have spotted one who ISN’T. Sark… Every time they cut to a picture of him on the sideline, he’s either kneeling away from the rest of the coaches with his head buried in this play sheet or staring into the void with a mix of confusion and fear on his face.
  19. PK is the defensive equivalent of Greg Davis. Instead of throwing a 5 yard route on 3rd and 8, we teach our defense to play 8 yards off the ball on 3rd and 5. It’s a yin-yang thing.
  20. To his credit. He tried to hurdle a defender today. It was a spectacular failure, but he tried.
  21. I’ve never seen a group of pass catchers this bad before. Josh Moore contributed a dropped TD, a fumble, and an INT (basically). Marcus Washington contributed two back-breaking drops to go along with his 15 receiving yards. Cade Brewer continued his incredible streak of going down on first contact. He may be the first 5-year starter in CFB to finish with 0 broken tackles. …. I long for the glory days when we had elite talent like John Harris and Geoff Swaim carving up the defense.
  22. Bijan and Worthy are elite level talents. Would have a spot on 2005/2008 type teams. Overshown is decent/pretty good. Would be a contributor on most Texas teams of the last 25 years. Casey would probably be a better backup than most that we’ve had in the recent past. Every other starter - all 18 of them - should never see the field on a Texas football team. If our standards weren’t so incredibly low due to the last decade of futility it wouldn’t even be a discussion.
  23. Do we have the option for a running clock on these games? Or could we end them at half? The idea of playing 60 minutes scares you to death.
  24. As long as they expand the field to 64 I think we’ve got a pretty decent shot next year.
