  1. They upped the ante for Dead & Co.
  2. No Reba at the Sphere?!?! Goddamnit. God Fucking Damn You Trey. What the fuck? Ah, well. It’s not like they could top this one: Phish has an unusual distinction in that I can say they played both the best and the worst concerts I’ve ever seen.
  3. Saw a piece on CBS Saturday Morning about Phish’s gig at the Sphere. I didn’t know they were just the second band to perform there after U2. It really is a Phishy thing for them to do. Hey, look. They posted a long interview. Way to go, CBS.
  4. Synchronicity. This past weekend was the 31st anniversary of my first Phish shows. Back in ‘93, 4/20 wasn’t a date of significance. At the time I felt I was late to the party. I posted setlists earlier in this thread. (We’re still on the first page? Really?) Before long it will be 20 years since my last Phish shows. Coventry wrecked me. It’s complicated. I need to see/hear the Reba from the Sphere. They had to have played it, right? I haven’t even bothered to look at setlists at phish.net yet.
  5. Divided Sky was the first of the few excerpts I watched. Awesome visuals. I thought the performance was a little clunky to start. I begrudgingly got into it toward the end. I’ve seen better but it took me back because it really is a great song. I even found myself chuckling at Trey’s pregnant pause that used to tire me out by how he seemed to keep milking it longer and longer every time.
  6. Yep, okay. Playing up to the stage. Way to go, guys.
  7. Old school Phish at the Sphere. As a jaded vet, this has my blessing.
  8. His affair with Marla Maples was public knowledge while he was still married to Ivanka. (Oops, I mean Ivana.) It was in the news. Johnny Carson joked about it. His character as a philanderer and womanizer was established over 3 decades ago. Some of his followers embrace that and think it makes him manly and a stud. I’ll bet Trump thinks it makes him BMOC. I think it should absolutely be admissible.
  9. And she doesn’t want death threats against her or her son. She’s morally bankrupt just like the rest of the family. (And there’s no “fake Melania” stand-in.” She’s the prop.)
  10. Right. Like when a whole lot of folks on here were predicting she was going to divorce Trump as soon as he left office. Not. Gonna. Happen. What? You think THIS will be the final straw? She knows damn well Trump cheats on her. She doesn’t care. The only thing that bothers her is that these trysts were made public. She responded by renegotiating her prenup. She’s a grifter and a gold digger. She’s not in it for love or honor or dignity or anything noble. She’s in it til the end. The only way she’d ever file for divorce is if Trump were left absolutely penniless with no properties or assets of any kind. She ain’t leaving him before the well has run dry.
  11. The transitive principle applies. They love Trump, Trump loves Putin, therefore they love Putin. They’re not conservative. That term has lost all meaning where the Trumpublicans are concerned. It’s just a meaningless label.
  12. Project 2025 is the Heritage Foundation’s baby but same diff.
  13. Yeah, I’ve got other replies I want to make when I have time. But Jews and Arabs were living together in Palestine in relative peace prior to the Zionist movement and the Balfour Declaration. Those Jews were more similar culturally to their Arab neighbors. The influx of of European culture, from both the west and the east (for our Western sensibilities it should be noted that that included Bolshevik ideologies brought along with Eastern European Jews from nascent Soviet territories), ruffled the feathers of indigenous peoples on both sides, Arabs and Jews alike. Judaism isn’t a monolith. (And anti-Zionism =/= anti-Semitism.)
  14. Not the kind of “fatal” he deserves. He should consider himself lucky.
  15. I learned about his passing from Bob Weir’s IG. Yeah, the first thing I thought of was Blue Sky because it’s such a great road trip tune. Windows down, volume cranked up. I remember my first ABB awakening came when I was young, in high school and I was awake one morning listening to my clock radio. Ramblin’ Man came on and I wasn’t ready to get up yet so I just lied there and listened. I never really paid much attention. It sounded like kind of a country redneck tune with that twangy voice and I was pretty dismissive of it. But then it got to the guitar solo(s) part and I got it. I stumbled on this on YouTube tonight: The Dead and the All and crossed paths numerous times. Here’s an excerpt from the 4th set of the Dead in D.C. on 6/10/73 when they were joined by Betts and Butch Trucks. The whole set is killer if you dare to seek it out. RIP
  16. They’re all idiots. Trump especially.
  17. Fwiw, the Kennedy family is endorsing Joe Biden, not Jr. https://www.npr.org/2024/04/18/1245530551/kennedy-family-endorse-biden-not-rfk
  18. So? Are you suggesting the Bible endorses the good kind of slavery?
  19. They’ll never expand beyond four eight twelve teams…
